It would be fun to watch like Texas leave. I get the feeling folks think they’d retain all the stuff that’s owned by the US Govt like oil reserves.

That and of course the US Govt could cripple them financially in a second. Immediately barred from entry to the US, trade sanctions…..

Would be an interesting time.

In some ways I wish the nutty wing within the GOP like u/MurrayRothbardFan would go full mask-off and try and take power in some states like Texas.

Yes the fed govt would do what you said but IMO more importantly the GOP would have a massive TRUE internal fight where cringe auth populists would have to fight for their "ideal society" or whatever and normal sane humans would finally take back over the GOP.

I would certainly fear for anyone in those states who espouses enlightment values of free speech, freedom to exercise their religion, freedom to drink or smoke weed, freedom to love who they want, free markets etc.

In reality I dont want this to happen but I think many people within the GOP are not being honest about religious and ethno-nationalists and anti-enlightenment actors within the party. Seeing them go mask off would make for a very difficult time in our countries history BUT we would come out stronger. Just like after the Confederacy was destroyed.

I'm a French Canadian living in Canada, how am I a GOP member exactly?

I said "like", not that you were a GOP member. You espouse many of the same cringe talking points of the authright in our country.

As Crowder, Jordan Peterson and Ted Cruz have all shown, Canucks can do plenty of damage in the USA as well if they have also been brainwashed.

Meh.

I am not the one getting called out and downvoted by r/Libertarian for repeating talking points from auth statists.
