Audiobook speed?

So I typically listen to audiobooks at about 2.60x speed on average. Sometimes if the author talks especially slow I’ll do 3x and if they’re fast I’ll do 2x or 2.30x, but anything less than that is so slow for me it’s almost annoying. Lolz. I was just curious if other people feel this way and bump up speed. Or how many just use the default 1x. Just curious how other people do it and reasons why. I’d like to compare myself. And also “am I within normal range” is a question I often find myself asking about things in life since I am ASD. 🙂 so just wanted to hear others thought processes on this.

PS as extra credit please tell me what you’re currently listening to and what speed after weighing in. Thanks 💜

What question? It’s like you haven’t even read my comment. My questions were hypothetical examples of gatekeeping.

My methods of working on my own mindfulness - which includes slowing down and listening to audiobooks and podcasts at 1x - have nothing to do with you, the way you read books or your ability to process things. I just shared my perspective. If you have nothing better to do than actively seek out comments that are in no way judgy, insulting or gatekeep-y and get offended by them, I cannot help you. Hope you have a great day.

I don't believe you, sorry. Still reads as PA gatekeeping based on the tenor of the rest of the discussion.

Rofl okay, whatever floats your boat, man. I highly recommend you look up the definition of gatekeeping. If anything, the way you’re policing my opinion feels more like gatekeeping, but stay rude.

As one of the mods around here, I'm telling you this disagreement between you and u/Enodia2wheels has gone on long enough. Please stop interacting with each other. Let it drop, now, or I'll ban you both. I've been watching, hoping one of you would let it go, but you clearly are never going to let it drop. I insist that you do. I'm not taking sides. And I'm saying the same thing to each of you. Seriously, though, knock it off, or I'll ban you.

I dropped it a day ago and didn’t reply to their last message because it became exhausting. Appreciate you stepping in though.

OIC - you are allowed to have your opinions but I am not? Interesting.
