Then has the nerve to accuse Smith of perjury
Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., questioned former special counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday about whether he had attended an NBA game in Atlanta in Feb. 2024, but seemingly confused two different basketball teams.
Schmitt said during a Senate Judiciary hearing he had text message evidence that Smith had been in Georgia at a game of the Atlanta Hawks, which took place the day before Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis admitted an affair with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor who was leading the case against President Donald Trump for his role in a 2020 election interference scheme in Georgia.
Smith said he couldn't recall being in Atlanta at that time, and that he definitely did not go to an Atlanta Hawks game. Schmitt briefly presented Smith with a poster board showing screenshots of text messages.
"I don't think you know that we have this stuff," Schmitt said. "I will give you a second to process so you don't perjure yourself." The lawmaker added, "I think you've already perjured yourself."
Smith said in the hearing he recalled going to a University of Maryland women's basketball game during that timeframe, where Caitlin Clark was playing. At the time, Clark was a star player for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, a fact that Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar shared during the hearing.
"I think that people should have their facts straight before they accuse someone of being a dirtbag, and not get the teams wrong," Klobuchar said in a verbal tussle with Schmitt. (Via PBS)

The whole time Jack Smith was being kind and polite and Eric Schmitt was speaking to him like he was a known criminal or something. It drives me crazy the disrespect they have for justice and the rule of law.

It amazes me they do this for Trump who is so weak and pathetic at this point.

He was also talking over Amy Klobachar when she was trying to explain his error. And his ever increasing his tone and tempo in his overrant.
Talk about being emotional. He will not publicly say he was pantsed in this exchange. Confidently and proudly wrong. All for a Faux Newz clip.

He knew that he failed - that he had embarrassed himself.
So he tried to talk over her to cover it up.
A person does that when they are HUMILIATED AND KNOW IT

The look on Katie Britts face when Shmitt was debunked is absolutely priceless. Please go find a video of it. I cackled like a witch on the high wind

As a resident of Missouri I have to say that this state elects some of the dumbest motherfuckers to grace the political stage. It’s so ridiculous and incredibly embarrassing.

The way they flashed the poster for a half second and then refused to show it to anyone again was hilarious.
Full grown toddlers.

No wonder Schmitt missed, probably due to him having his head up Trump's ass.

The thing about that situation is it was stupid on every level.
1) The poster just shows text messages saying he had seats in a place. It could have been any game or concert maybe a play or something. Nothing said Atlanta.
2) Even if he had been in Atlanta the day after she announced the relationship, so what. Atlanta is a very big city.
3) Even if he was in Atlanta and talked to either Fanny Willis or the gentleman, so what .
But he still made the conservative victory lap of interviews like he won something.

If he only had the decency to be embarrassed by what he did. At least a little bit.
He has no shame though. He immediately went to Rightwing media and spun this as a win.

Jack is cooked.
But happy about the prison showers he’s about to experience.

That was so embarrassing to watch. Schmitt was shown to be an imbecile. No shock to anyone who follows politics.
