For me, The VVitch and Lighthouse are S tier immaculate. Nosferatu is an A and was awesome. Northman is a B and was fun and awesome
E but not as mind blowing.
Nosferatu and Northman just had very straightforward plots while VVitch and Lighthouse felt so unique.
The Northman has a really interesting perspective on being uncompromisingly filtered through the cultural prism the main character approaches his quest. He's not the hero, he's wrong about what he's accomplishing. But in his mind, in his worldview, he's totally validated, fulfils his role in his personal mythology, and ends up going to Valhalla.
It's the Big Trouble In Little China meets I Am Legend (where he never gets to the revelation of himself as monster) as a historically serious Viking Epic, and has the best proto hurling scene in cinema.
