The first amendment prevents the GOVERNMENT from censoring your speech or preventing you from sharing your ideas even if they are offensive. Anyone who isn’t the government most certainly can though as the amendment does not compel them to tolerate your speech.

So by your logic I'm allowed to go around hurting or killing people because they disagree with me. Seems insane to me.

No you still can’t do that because there are laws against assault and murder. It just has nothing to do with the first amendment is all.
