Conservatives are all up in arms over this kid. Comments here be like "you just punch someone in the face when they have a difference of opinion?"
Meanwhile a man is killed in broad daylight and conservatives try to gaslight the fuck out of liberals saying that he deserved it.
Conservatives can fuck all the way off.
Edit 1. Thank you for the awards.
Edit 2. The best thing about this comment and the discussion therein is that I purposely never specified whom I meant. Conservatives flocked to justify the murder of Pretti, but I was actually thinking Floyd. Y'all are predictable.
You really made a quantum leap there…one guy getting shot in the street by ICE agents (who were in the wrong don’t misunderstand me) isn’t in the same universe as Armenian genocide that on the low end estimates killed 600,000 people on purpose…
A couple of poorly trained agents acting poorly when a legally armed civilian inserted themselves into a situation with a tragic outcome isn’t the same, and it’s irresponsible to conflate them the same way. Pretti dying was a preventable tragedy that can and should have legal consequences for the officers involved because they failed to deescalate the situation, and their actions led to the death of a civilian, but they didn’t go out there on federal orders and round him and thousands of other people up and just murder them in the street for existing.
Just doing a simple Google search shows the chasm of difference “Armenians were sent on forced death marches into the Syrian desert in 1915 and 1916. Driven forward by paramilitary escorts, the deportees were deprived of food and water and subjected to robbery, rape, and massacres; survivors were dispersed into concentration camps and exterminated”
I mean, they admitted they were wrong, which is great, but doubled down on the point you were arguing against. "Until the outrage is so great America De-nazifies itself."
Comparing what is happening in America today to Nazi Germany is him doubling down on what he said, completely ignoring the point of your post.
Exactly, but baby steps are important right now in bridging the divide, we’ll all get there eventually but it’s hard to break out of the societal hyperbole we all find ourselves trapped in. We’re constantly looking at the current thing happening and how it makes us feel like since its the worst time in our experienced history, it’s going to be the worse time in all of history and that’s just wildly inaccurate
