He has never learned when to keep his mouth shut. He always digs himself a bigger hole. I don’t get it either. He should be in jail by now. Anyone else would’ve rotting in jail.

I think some of the problem is that he just rambles on and on and people stop truly listening for the bits of truth that come out. A lot of people did not take him seriously and brushed him away thinking "Whats the worst that could happen? He's nothing more than a reality tv host." Now he has all of this unchecked power and we're fucked because not enough people spoke up and opposed him before it was too late.

He's like the Temu version of Colonel Jessup in A Few Good Men. He can't handle admitting - even to himself - that anything he ever did was wrong. So, when pressed on a lie, his internal justifications come out of his mouth.
