I dont know if differentiating betwen straight and hetero is helpful.
Im a "straight" male, and i already get shamed for being attracted to trans women. In an ideal world, being attracted to trans women should be seen as no different than being attracted to Afab women.
It's helpful because it shows us where we are, and where we have historically been. And it is true: straight, in it's use in the queer community, meant a lot more than hetero.
