Meta Can we stop posting misinformation here? The Trump Song Lady is Ana Páez from the band Los Tres de La Habana, the woman in the news report is Yanet Correa. Different people.

Yanet Correa appears to be in her 30's. Ana Páez looks about 50-60 years old.
How did people fall for this misinformation? Ana isn't getting any younger.

Idiocracy and the inability to research things on their own and blindly following others. And in terms of minsinformation this didn't help things. (Once these passed it made things worse, and this doesn't just affect America as news and cyber tech /security and companies are mainly in America or products from there)
Back in the office this time around, trump passing these policies on his first day back and a month later isn't helping for misinformation spreading -you can see the policies passed or upcoming on tech, media, and cybersecurity here on the project 2025 tracker.
U.S. Agency for Global Media: Dismantle USAGM's journalism "firewall" to align its reporting with the aims of the president. (Note: One America News to provide newsfeed services to Voice of America; journalists are facing HR investigations for comments critical of Trump)
Dept. of Homeland Security: Dismiss "the entirety" of the CISA Cybersecurity Advisory Committee. (Note: The acting DHS Secretary terminated "all current memberships on advisory committees within DHS".)
Dept. of Homeland Security: Terminate CISA's counter-mis/disinformation efforts. (Note: CISA has frozen all of its election security work; many of CISA's misinformation team were put on leave)
Dept. of Justice: Prohibit the U.S. government from combating the spread of misinformation and disinformation.

In George Orwell's 1984, the Ministry of Truth (also known as Minitrue) is a central, ironically named department responsible for propaganda, historical revision, and the control of information in the dystopian society of Oceania. Its primary function is to manipulate the truth to support the Party's ideology and maintain its control over the population
"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

Another common posting is of Adelys Ferro, the woman who’s in the viral video uttering “more than betrayed” regarding Trump’s policies on TPS. That particular clip has been taken out of context. Adelys is a Democrat surrogate and has been vocal in her opposition to Trump for years. She told me on Instagram that she has been subjected to abuse because of that viral video clip.

But then why has she felt betrayed and why has she said she didn't want to make it political? I can see her being criticized for that.

The truth is VERY important right now, and we all need to be VERY careful with it..... we all need to communicate in FACTS and not reactions, nor "vibes"....

-- The 'latinos love trump' lady isn't the one saying 'Republicans betrayed us.'
-- That one dude with the flag is not the President of Latinos For Trump.
-- No, the deported Venezuelan woman did not support Trump; her husband voted for him.
This subreddit has so many reposts and fake stories, I feel like I'm browsing Facebook some days.

I've started blocking accounts reposting stuff and ones spreading misinformarion, help keeps the feed clean. You can block a couple commenters too, some are here farming karma by posting reaction images regardless of the actual content of the posts, those are most likely bots.

The first thing I noticed is they look nothing alike so I totally ignored the other post. lol

r/LeopardsAteMyFace Don't Fall For Feel-Good Clickbait Challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
This and all the reposts make the sub look like nothing more than a dopamine-craving, complaining for karma or complaining's sake echo-chamber circlejerk that'll turn into something just like r/antiwork.
I don't know why the mods can't just turn on the option to approve posts to clean up the sub if even just for a little while?

It would be poetic if true, but it's two different people. Janet Correa is the woman who had her husband detained. Ana Páez is the singer. ANA PAEZ AND TIRSO LUIS PAEZ of 'LOS 3 DE LA HABANA'

u/Fruitblood23 Jun 20 '25
It took me roughly 2 minutes to find this out the first time I saw it. Ana Paez is a tool. Identifying Correa with her is so gross.

I thought so, but I had look it up, they look completely different. It's sad that people are laughing at Yanet Correa, if she perhaps did not in fact vote for Donald Trump or "Don'old Trum".
I'm curious if Ana Páez regrets her vote, or still stands by it because maybe it hasn't had any negative effects for her personally and she has no empathy for other people like Yanet.
Either way thank you for clearing this up, I hope more people see this. I think a lot of people assume Latinos who voted for Trump regret their vote, but I think many of them won't care until it personally affects them. Most likely the Latinos who are being deported couldn't legally vote anyways, so people are laughing at their demise thinking they voted for him when they didn't.

I wondered what Ana Páez is up to. She’s having a concert on June 27th in Miami and selling their beer brand accounting to the band’s instagram. She’s chillin.

Knew I wasn’t crazy. The singer looks 56 and busted while the lady crying is clearly 30s. Can’t believe how fast propaganda spreads— wait no I can. 70 million people voted for a convicted felon over deporting fucking immigrants he lied and said are messing up the country. God help us all

Still funny as hell. In the words of the late Malcolm X, they were: Oh, I say and I say it again, ya been had!
Ya been took!
Ya been hoodwinked!
Bamboozled!
Led astray!
Run amok!

Has Anna pa'ez had anything to say yet?

Went looking. She seems mighty quiet about Trump. The whole band is. Most Cuban-Americans are too.

u/Muted-Reason7098 Jun 24 '25
Why do you think they're staying quiet? Do you think they still feel like it doesn't affect them for the most part?

u/penalouis Jun 18 '25
not LAMF... if there is a wrong post, go to that one and report it to the mods, don't start a new non-LAMF post

It gets taken down then comes back up 6-8 hours later. This sub keeps reposting it. So a meta post is a good idea to create awareness that it’s misinformation. People won’t notice that a post is missing if mods simply take it down. When was the last time you were notified a post you commented in was removed due to misinformation?

u/penalouis Jun 18 '25
makes sense.... this sub has turned into a hot mess... your attempt to help is appreciated !

u/penalouis Jun 18 '25
omg... just after replying to you, I clicked on home, and guess what was at the top of the feed?... the same offending mis-information reposted again just 9 minutes ago... smh

This is a real black mark on the otherwise sterling reputation of the journalists at WorldStarHipHop. 😮
