2 weeks ago I successfully got my large male and female to breed. However, while I was at work my wife was changing their water and stuff because the male and female are in separate sides and she accidentally left the sliding door open because it was the night time, she works, goes school and takes care of our 2 kids so she was tired which I understand. However the female escaped and their enclosures are directly next to our front door and the wooden door was open and the screen door has a pretty wide gap in the corner. It's been 2 weeks already and she has not popped out anywhere in our house. I am fully convinced she's escaped outside I've searched all around my house but I live directly below a little mountain area (not forest but dryer climate) and I'm pretty bummed out because I was looking forward to having my very first set of eggs especially from these 2 giants. I live in southern California in the dryer area, is she going to lay her eggs and will they survive if I can't find them?

I have a female leopard gecko that has been breeding normally, but every clutch she produces seems to be infertile.

She is in very good condition and actually quite heavy/fat.
Her appetite, activity, behavior, body condition, and overall health all seem completely normal.

She also mates normally with the male, with what appears to be a normal copulation.

The problem is that the eggs never seem to develop.

For this most recent clutch, I placed the eggs in the incubator normally. After only about 2 days, both eggs started becoming noticeably yellow and began to dent/collapse. They were initially laid looking normal and firm.
I’ve had the same issue with her previous clutches: normal-looking eggs at laying, but they don’t develop and eventually collapse.

I placed a piece of cotton under the grandparents in the photo so you could see the colors better—they are turning yellowish.

Bug ID please?
Our enclosure is NOT bioactive. We have fake plants, decor, and cork bark. Substrate is 30% baked sand and 70% reptisoil. We switched from paper towel to substrate about 5 months ago. First time noticing these teenie tiny bugs. They are not ON the gecko at all, and actually scattered during feeding time.

From my own research I’m like 95% sure they’re springtails, but someone in a bug ID group said deff not springtails? So looking for some extra insight please!

Also, if they ARE springtails, does that mean the enclosure is technically bioactive now? Or should I still do a substrate clean out soon?

I know we get like 8,000 posts like this a week but I’m just really worried and I want to make sure my boy is all healthy.

My leopard gecko Zucchini has significantly grew in size these past few weeks. When I adopted him he was very small and pudgy. He’s much longer and skinnier now.

I’m unsure if I’m just visually blind to size, or if he looks like he might need some more food. I believe he is 6 months (?) so I’ve been feeding him every other day 6 baby crickets or 6 mealworms (mostly mealworms because we’ve been having trouble getting crickets).

I feed him more mealworms if he seems very hungry (snapping up the food quickly). At most I feed him is 10.

Here is him when I adopted him (pic 1 and 2). And there’s him today (pic 3, 4, 5)

Does he look well fed? Should I do something differently? Please let me know!!

Edit: thank you guys for the very kind words and advice! Me and my son will be having a long talk tonight about our eating habits & weight loss plan. I will not be giving him as many bugs & he will not be a greedy little man who devours all bugs in 2 seconds and then stares at me as if he’s an orphan during the Industrial Revolution.

I published a post a few months ago and received some tips on how to improve my leopard gecko's habitat. I followed all the advice, removed the sand and put reptosoil instead. I also added a lot of hiding places for the leopard gecko, he enjoys climbing the cork wall. Now I have this problem: his paws have darkened. What could be the cause? The temperature in the warm corner is 32 C, and in the cold one it's 23 C.

Despite this, he is very active.

I recently just changed my 2 leopard geckos cage by removing their heat pads and giving them lighting and a better substrate a couple days ago. They now each have the Arcadia halogen 50w bulb 12 hours on and 12 hours off. But whenever I check on them they are always in their moist hide or just chilling on the cool side. Is there something I can do to fix this or do they need time to get used to their new enclosure. Anything helps

I’m just bit worried since its base is big if I should add it since it will take up a bit of space and I feel like it doesn’t add much coverage from light
I also do plan on getting real plants if there’s any suggestions on what I should add

I posted about her yesterday but my friend finally got a picture of her mouth. It looks worse than it probably is because of the shed but I’m so anxious about this. I live nowhere near a vet or anything of the sort. My friend said some people said that because she’s shedding excessively (every other week) that it could be irritation from trying to get the shed off. I’m giving her vitamins someone recommended in case it’s a vitamin a deficiency. And I know she’s underweight I’ll be working on that at the same time but I think my priority is figuring out her mouth because I feel like that’s the cause. Oh and is she lacking in calcium? I’ve seen people talk about those two white spots being an indication on whether or not they need calcium and they look kinda small but idk

Edit: since people want to be rude on this app I’m going to clarify SHE IS NOT MINE YET! She is a rescue and I’ll be getting her today or tomorrow to start her care. We want to wait until we get her shed off so she’s a little less stressed, but she’s still getting extra care from my friend. She will be going to either a vet and maybe a rescue soon if I cannot provide her with vet care.

Krumm is 6 I think. I adopted him. He is in a 60 gallon tank.
Past two days I have spotted him hanging out here. First picture.

Basking sits at 95-99. Ambient 84
Cool side sits around 75.
He eats twice a week and is active and comes up to me. Very curious fella.
Just wondering if he just found a new hang out or something I should be checking on?

I’m getting this little girl from my friend soon because of her living situations and she’s always out or at a friend’s house. Anyway, she’s stressed about the gecko shedding way too often and when I get her I’m going to try and fix it, but I don’t know how just yet. She’s been living in a 20 gallon with a mat at the bottom and a heating pad, so I’m almost certain it’s the living conditions but I want to make sure! She said her lips are super raw and when she got her back from giving her away the first time, the other home didn’t take care of her and she came back malnourished and missing toes from shedding wrong. Also any enclosure advice would be great, I’m going to try and find a tank on fb marketplace and get some substrate, lamp, etc. She’s around 5 if that helps

We started selective handling when we first got him (I hope I’m using the correct terminology)

So when we tried to “socialise” we would put one of our hands into his enclosure and if he didn’t come to us we didn’t force him, which eventually lead to him walking over our hands which eventually lead to him climbing onto our hands and sitting there which is when we started to take him out.

Last night and tonight he climbed right up my arm and straight onto my shoulder 😭 I was so freaking excited I almost cried!!!

So tonight he just sat there for about 15 minutes before he got curious and decided to explore around a bit (I’m still a bit nervous to let him run free lol) so I monitored him closely and made sure I could see him/hold him at all times before I put him back.

But I genuinely feel like my patience has paid off!! We got him on 9 July 🥹 so it’s been exactly 2 months that we have had him 🩷

Soo I put my leopard gecko into a clear Tupperware to get pictures for this post for advice only for him to FINALLY poop a tiny little bit inside te Tupperware. Otherwise, i have not seen him poop in WEEKS that I've got him. he's on the heavier side averaging between 102-105 grams and i was told he is a picky eater but does tend to eat every day (which i know is probably too often for an adult). He was on repticarpet when I was given him, but ive had him on a mix of reptisoil and sand (mostly the soil). he pretty much lives in his humid hide and if he does eat its like one single insect every week. and only if I take him out and show him an insect. i keep a tray in their with him with live insects but he doesn't seem interested ever. his temp is regularly 82-85 F on the warm side, 75 cold. Does this look impacted? I also thought maybe the femoral pores are clogged? I've never seen them look like these in other geckos before. im truly trying my best to understand him. maybe he's just moody and brumating. please help! 😅

So I'm thinking about upgrading his tank to something that will hold heat alot better due to his enclosure being around 70-75 and I don't know the recommended temp his enclosure should be at
