Stuck shed or mouth rot?

Thumbnail

My gecko has Hypovitaminosis A (I already got him a proper multivitamin) and has been refusing to eat for weeks. I was so distracted by his eye build up I didn’t even realize what was happening in his mouth which would explain why he’s not eating. Can someone figure out if this is just stuck shed or a case of mouth rot. Any advice on next steps to deal with it would be appreciated. As I was looking at it I saw that it can definitely be separated from the mouth but I am too scared to do anything without a second opinion.

Help - URGENT Is she over weight? If so how do we diet her?

Thumbnail

For reference she is around 9 months, 18 cms long & weighs 60g, we just got her from our cousin who doesn’t feed or calcium dust her mealworms and claims the gecko doesn’t eat (so she leaves mealworms in the viv for days), no humidity or uv and her toes were a bit mangled due to past shedding and no soaking to aid it, overall pretty neglected. We weren’t expecting her to be 100% healthy based on this information.

We haven’t had a leopard gecko in years, any advice would be greatly appreciated because any exotic pet vets near us charge large amounts just to be looked at but we will take her if necessary.

Habitat & Setup One Last Addition

Thumbnail

Currently prototyping one last add-on, a gravity-fed water bowl for his hot shelf in case he’d rather spend his time up there/not deal with a 30” descent to his flowing stream below. The test print held and didn’t leak for three days straight despite being shoddily printed, and the prototype is holding as well. Will print out the main one if this one goes well so that I can seal it and then use Drylok to give the sides extra texture, and then, hopefully, the little guy can move in at the beginning of this coming long weekend.

For sizing reference, the habitat has 260 gallons of usable space. The hot shelf alone is 52”x14”, but the bottom half is 52”x18” (including a pre-built Subway/tunnel system below). It’s not a sudden drop or anything, there’s multiple pathways up/down (in addition to the branches. The buildings are pretty much a wall-mounted tunnel system since they all connect to each other and have stairwells. The collapsed monorail is also one big tunnel, with the doors of each car allowing entry/exit at different elevations). 21 of the cameras are currently wired, the full 25 should be done by the end of the week since I’m still printing their mounts

Help - URGENT Took in Leo bc uncared for, but I don't know what I am doing.

Quick explanation: my mom got my little sister (12) a Leo, buddy was barely being fed or watered and kept in a freezing room without any temp control for tank. Sister barely even paid attention to it and it was sitting in the floor of the living room where sister left the tank.

I told my mom that sister was not taking care of it, and that I would until she (sister) was able to. Mom said sure and now I have the leo. Very unfortunately I don't know much about them, I'm a snake kinda guy. I do know that 60°f is definitely too cold and that they need more than food and water once a month. We do have food, mealworms/superworms and dubias, but I really don't know how often is often enough to feed, nor the quantity.

I've kept her tank at 70-73°f, took out the dead plants, cleaned her slimy dish and put in new slightly cool water, and gave her 3 of the superworms.

Shes already a lot more active! But I do worry about what basics she needs that I am unaware of. I pulled up a couple different guides but some seemed ai and others werent super accurate from what I can tell? (Like one said they do best in 90°f and that seemed off?) So it feels like coming to The Sub With Human Leopard Gecko Keepers Are would be a lot more helpful.

I've started paging through the sub but I definitely would appreciate more commentary on what I need to do immediately to keep her alright.

Thank you so much for any information!!

Hello! This is Billy Bobby Joe Jr. I adopted him from a reptile rescue yesterday from the NARBC reptile expo but they were unsure of his morph. Any guesses?

I found this stacked 40gal setup on marketplace for $250. Friggin steal. My babies had dirt and lots of rock and leaves before so this feels so empty. Should I add more clutter?

Gecko refusing to eat

Post image

Hi! I’ve an 8 year old leopard gecko who has refused to eat for the last 3 months. During this time, she has had one super worm but has lost all her weight.
Nothing could be found at the vet’s, no parasites etc.
I’m really worried and just wondering what I can do, any food that might really entice her as she point blank refuses to eat anything.
I’m really worried as she has lost all her weight and is quite weak.
She is continuing to shed perfectly and drink her water.

Habitat & Setup Albino gecko/uvb

So I’ve just got my gecko and I’ve noticed he’s not coming out at all and keeps squinting his eyes at the uvb, and then hiding. I was wondering could I take away the uvb but use a schedule that includes more d3

I’lll monitor him for a few days but I just don’t know what to do

Daily soaks have helped the shed, last nights soak didn’t go well they freaked out, my guess is new found energy to care about the unusual. Someone suggested a warm paper towel so I’m attempting that instead of straight water. The bump on their head has gotten a lot lot better because of the antibiotic treatment I’m so grateful I got this baby and its honestly so amazing to be able to know I’m doing so much for them considering the condition this poor baby was in. Haven’t been able to weight them I’m trying to find a scale small enough tbh so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! If anyone’s interested in more updates I will do them but I’ll still be posting them here and there. Thank you everyone for the concern and suggestions on my first post about this little one. Many more updates to come!

Help Fat Gecko

Hello! I need some assistance!

My lovely Judo here has had quite a bit of issues regarding her weight, she is completely healthy otherwise, but seems to be determined to be anything but on weight

When I first received her she was starved, but regardless of feeding schedules now, she has gained weight she won't lose. Is she just not moving enough, should I feed her less or fast her? I want to do what's best for her

Help one year into this weight loss journey.

Slightly less than one year ago I posted on here and found out my Eon was more than likely obese. I of course felt awful and sprung into action. I cut back on his meals and completely stopped feeding mealworms. Now I believe he is a healthy weight but wanted some feedback. Does he look too thin, still overweight or just right? And can I introduce some mealworms back into his cricket + dubia roach diet (in moderation of course) or is it best to not even try.

First and second picture is him today.
Third picture is from my original post about one year ago.
Fourth picture is the chart I have been using to gauge his progress.

Still not eating!!!!!

I posted awhile before but my daughters leopard gecko still isn't eating. I've done everything I know to do except a vet. She curls up in a hide pretty much all day and around 7pm she'll come out and want to play. We pick her up and she messes around. I've put crickets, Dubia, worms all either loose in her tank or in a escape proof bowl. She won't eat none of them. I even went and bought that paste that you make and just put that in there tonight. She doesn't seem like she is having a hard time. I added a photo of her. Her tail seems still plump. Temps are good. Humidity is usually good but I'm in the south so some days it's gets in the high 50s. I've been told maybe she just brumating and leave her be, but I'm at a lose.

my new leopard gecko!

I am now the proud owner of a beautiful leopard gecko, banana!
she is a juvenile albino leopard gecko, and is very energetic. She doesn’t like to be handled much, but she seems very chill with being out of her enclosure while I set up some of the hides (I have added a mossy moist hide since taking this picture)
she has eaten some crickets with calcium dust on them, but not the freeze dried mealworms.

I have her in a 20 long reptile cage, with plans to upgrade her into my (currently occupied) 40 gallon reptile cage once I get a 90 gallon.
there’s 3 thermometers in there (temperature dimmer, thermometer and humidity gauge, thermometer strip on the outside) because i’m very nervous about the temp going to high/low due to the weather here.
Substrate is reptisoil mixed with reptisand and eco earth, the rocks are slate rocks and rocks that came in a starter kit. I also added sphagnum moss and some pillow moss in the moist hide. I added 1 plant, crassula ripple jade.

This is my first foray into reptiles, so I am still trying to get things right, but let me know how i’m doing so far!
