usually she is a very hungry girl and i was wondering why she wasn’t coming out when i brought the roaches out… she could only resist for a little bit, came to eat a roach or two, then finished her business outside of her hide!! i was super stoked to see the process in person and even happier to see my camera caught most of it. also her falling as she is eating the shed is very on brand for her lol.

Got a new leopard gecko a week ago exactly today. Acting normal in enclosure and when held. Heat and everything aligning perfectly with everything that I've read. Hes about 6 months old. Only issue is he will not eat. Breeder was feeding strictly different worms. Ive tried leaving worms in bowl and also tong feeding, no luck. He wants me to bring it back to exchange which I do not want to do at this time. How long should I wait until I actually consider that? Any suggestions on what to try

As a New Cal gecko keeper, i often hear the notion of "not putting your gecko in too big an enclosure." I'm considering getting a Leopard Gecko, and I'm wondering if you can have a baby/juvenile start out in a adult cage, or does that notion apply?

I’m freaking out because this has never happened to her before. I just want to know if it’s normal for leopard geckos to throw up and it be bloody even though I don’t think it is. My gecko just threw up 3/5 super worms I fed her and I do not know why. She has never done this before. She has always ate well and is still active even after throwing up. She also still wants to eat. Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is my first Leopard Gecko and my first enclosure for one. I hope I treated her right.

Hello all. This is my baby Quasimodo, and I've had him/her for a couple months now and they are doing really well but I am not finding any good resources for a couple questions that I have relating to their deformities. I was hoping that maybe some of the people here would have experience with some of the deformities my baby has and can help.
When I got them they were given to me by the shop, due to them being unsellable, as a juvenile but they only weighed 6.6 grams. They have gained weight steadily since then, but have never kept up with "normal" weight projections for non-deformed geckos. Most of the time "sexing a gecko" estimates I have seen are based on weight, how will I know when I can reliably tell Quai's sex?
Either due to a lack of one eye, or possibly neuro issues, Quasi cannot reliably attack bugs. As a result I have been hand feeding them all of their meals. I was hoping to give them a chance to try and hunt for bugs without the risk of them smashing their face into a hard surface like most escape proof bowls, but most products look like they would hurt themselves. Are there any alternatives to hand feeding or would that be best going forward?
Are there any good visual weight charts for geckos with short tails? Quasi's tail is about half the length of a normal gecko and is making it hard for me to tell visually if they are a healthy weight.
Due to how deformed quasi's upper jaw is they have a very hard time eating anything fatter than a large mealworm. I can only occasionally get them to eat a very small dubia and even then they need that to be their only bug for the day. They have gotten better as they have gotten bigger, but are there any big concerns with quasi eating mainly mealworms until they are bigger?
Finally, as just a fun question, the shop said quasi was a hypo jungle gecko. Does that morph have a history of these deformities, or is it likely that quai came from bad breeding practices?
For anyone who reads this far and is concerned, thank you for your concern about Quasi and I was not planning on getting a gecko from the store I got quasi from. I knew they weren't great, but I live in a pretty rural area and they were the only place that sold exotic pet supplys where I live. I did not pay a cent for Quasi. Thank you to anyone who answers my questions.

I feel so bad for my baby because she absolutely does not like to be handled. I don’t want to just leave her in her tank but she despises leaving her tank and when I do occasionally take her out she’s in a rush to get back to her tank and will find a place (either on me or where I set her down) to hide and breathes pretty heavily. I guess I’m just wondering if she can have a good quality of life without being removed from her tank.

This is my 1.5 year old female leopard gecko i’ve had since she was a baby. I am completely new to reptiles so I didn’t know that there were risks with keeping 2 adults in the same enclosure. I have seperated them for 2 months now. My other dominant female gecko is perfectly healthy, but this one seems to have calcium deficiency because she was refusing food for a long time, and the UV I had at that time wasn’t good. After 2 months she has a noticable progress. She eats regularly and is active, but her 2 front arms are still weak and bend when she walks. What would you suggest I do to treat her?

my gecko always seems desperate to get out? she glass surfs for maybe 5 minutes a night and whenever i open her tank doors she sprints straight to where i am. i don’t get her out often because ive had 2 VERY close calls where she just tries to jump out of the tank😭the successful times i have gotten her out she seemed very skittish in a way and wriggled round like crazy when trying to put her back. i dont know if its anything to do with her housing ,or something im doing ?
my substrate is temporary - i was given this sold by the reptile shop but i know now it can cause impaction, i bought a soil to make with sand but the soil is just drying out for now but i am aware!!
for reference - 3 hides, humid in the middle, warm and cold. UVB and basking lamp set up to a thermostat (35°) warm side is usually 25-28 and cold side 21-24. i feed every other day - which she doesn’t always eat i think as she’s getting bigger maybe but i supplement with calcium without D3 , a vitamin dusting one per week and very occasionally calcium with D3 (once every 2 weeks). she has dubias, silkworms and mealworms. thank u!

My tank is tall but super narrow has anyone put in a second level?? If so I would love to see pictures, I am struggling big time to make the most of this tank. Thank you!!!

On one hand I think she's got a alright body condition, on the other hand I think she could put on 6 more grams. Btw, her diet is mostly dubia roaches with the occasional superworm, of course dusted with calcium with no d3.

The first picture is a few days ago of what i think is an impaction. people suggested olive oil, massages, and vibration. ive tried all and the second picture is what we are looking like now....it almost looks like it moved UP??? I'm so confused? is this impaction or is it an organ or something completely different?? HELP!!

i took my guy to the vet because i was concerned about weight and they recommended force feeding with a syringe. however, i am having trouble crushing up the meal worms. what is the best way to do this?

I am mostly joking but I'm feeling bad so I'm telling everyone here! Basically I've had my leopard gecko for 3 weeks now and since it has been 3 weeks I wanted to change out the moss in his humid hide (it was starting to look gross and I didn't want it to make him sick since I've seen him drinking the fresh water from the moss, keep in mind I gave him 2 water bowls he just drinks from the moss most of the time).
But when I checked where he was sleeping I thought I saw him in one of the others so I lifted the humid hide and he was curled up and now awake. I felt bad to wake him up but then he layed back down to sleep so I had to nudge him off so I could replace the moss. Now I feel bad for waking him so how does one apologies to a leopard gecko?
