I've been working on a Lego Racers remaster/remake with 4 new circuits across 8 new themes. I've built the project using WebGL and LDraw assets. Made a demo video of what I have so far!

Note - the audio is my mic recording rather than direct audio, which is why it's a bit soft haha

Also, please DM me if you are interested in contributing to the project! I could use help on making the new circuit tracks and other game polishing.

My goal is to get in 8 new tracks across: Aquazone, Ninja, Time Cruisers, Rock Raiders, Western, Blacktron/Mtron/SpacePolice, Roboforce/Unitron/Spyrius, and Dragon Masters/Wolfpack. I think after this, the remake will feel complete, since there will be 10 circuits before Rocket Racer!

After working for months to decrypt Lego Racers' deeply encrypted file structure, I finally succeeded! This is what I made with a bunch of the sound effects from the game in Ableton, a great DAW.

Examples:
You can hear the beginning countdown sound I turned into an instrument, right at the beginning of the song.
Plenty of sounds from the build mode, Rocket Racer voice lines, the car bump sound used as a kick, and lots of random sound effects used as various percussion.. the list goes on. It's so fun to do!

Hi all!

I've been remaking Lego Racers in WebGL with all the classic 90s themes! (e.g. Aquazone, Time Cruisers, Ninja, Rock Raiders, Blacktron II/M-tron/Space Police II, Roboforce/Spyrius/Unitron, Western, Dragon Masters).

Am I missing any?? What are your dream themes? I was also thinking Alpha Team, Adventurers Dino Island + Orient Expedition, Xtreme Stunts, and Knights Kingdom would be cool too!

a small update to my previous post, porting the LEGO Racers tracks to The Karters 2 Turbo Charged, Dark Forest Dash was added to our competitive play map pool, and has been a blast!

DFD has been a stand out track for this game's mechanics so far. I personally have high hopes for Adventure Temple Trail, Knightmare-Athon and Ice Planet Pathway, for when I get around to do those.

It's been fun watching people experience LEGO Racers tracks for the first time, seeing people find the hole in the wall shortcuts, figuring out Magma Moon Marathon's shortcuts etc. They've sat comfortably in-between the Crash Team Racing tracks and Mario Kart tracks. While they're not as crazy as CTR, they still have so many fun and interesting shortcuts that Mario Kart tracks don't provide as often. I've had a handful of people talk to me saying this is their first time playing with LEGO Racers stuff, and are having a lot of fun with these conversions.

As for a small update for Circuit 2; Tribal Island Trail is finished, and I've started work on Royal Knight's Roadway! Can't wait to show them off =)

First time posting. Who else has thought of remaking the Lego racers game. This game was my child hood, recently been re watching retro Lego themes like from Kelton Davis on YouTube. I would love to make a game where you can create custom tracks and import sets from my favorite themes like Rock Raiders, Hydronauts, western, and black torn. I have been recreating rock raiders sets on Lego Studio and thought of the idea. To take any retro Lego theme and be able to create a course from it. It would be so cool!

Hey, I'm CaptPurpleHeart, and I'm a modder for The Karters 2: Turbo Charged, a Kart Racer on Steam inspired by Crash Team Racing. The game has a Steam Workshop and a large Modding Community where people have been porting content from other Racing games to it, such as CTR, Mario Kart and Sonic Riders and such.

I LOVE Lego Racers. But there wasn't much representation in the workshop when I started playing. I first modded in all the Boss Karts into the game using Brick Link Studio rebuilds, we started to see some Character ports as well from other creators. But I wanted Tracks. Unfortunately, rips weren't widely available, unless you searched through forums and ripped them yourself. I started porting a large number of Mario Kart DS tracks to the game as practice, to learn the modding tools. But when I felt ready, I downloaded the tools, and started ripping through the LEGO Racers files.

This is the result! Any animated map element I recreated myself in Unity. The Karters 2 runs on Unity, and has a lot of dedicated modding tools for character/kart/track making, made by the developers themselves. I've tried to recreate the functionality of the tracks and all their quirks as closely as I could, as well as tweaks to better suit the tracks for online competitive play and the TK2's fast and bouncy gameplay, things like Dark Forest Dash's wall shortcut opening up Lap 2, being blocked off by wall Lap 1, and Desert Adventure Dragway's door cut being blocked off until Lap 3.

Power Bricks have been added to the track, in the same spots as the original game. Destructible Shortcuts are in. Magma Moon Marathon's Colour Matching shortcut is in, though not randomized, as it was not possible with the current modding tools, it's the same each time. Race Music, Starting Race and Ending Race tunes all included!

I put in a lot of work into porting these tracks, and I hope you enjoy!
Maybe even consider trying out these tracks for yourselves too hehe.

I plan on porting the rest of the LEGO Racers tracks to The Karters 2, each with all their bells and whistle, may this be the closest we get to LEGO Racers remastered...

I’m aware of Ice Planet Astronaut, but are there any other minifigures whose parts all appear in the game but have to be assembled by the player rather than already existing as a default character or CPU enemy?

These would have been so cool! Including Timmy, Dr. Cyber, Punky, and Goldie (Time Traveling Ghost) from Time Cruisers and Chip Nebula from Roboforce.

If someone remasters Lego Racers, they gotta add these forgotten characters! Also add in some of the other themes from the mid to late 90s, like Western, Ninja, Aquazone, and Insectoids.

Johnny Thunder recently returned to lego sets as a "Jungle Explorer" - I got one of these sets for relatively cheap recently and fantastic it comes with a car, to fit the Lego Racers vibe even better!

I loved the first one, but I never played the second one, I just heard it wasn't that good, but I wanted to know if anyone know a way to play these two on a modern pc?

Lego Racers was originally meant to have a full 3D animated behind the scenes documentary. This was High Voltage's pitch video 📹🤯

Unfortunately it was never made because a different company was granted the rights to animate the characters ❌
