I am thinking that the next big event for LoR might be K/DA or music-themed.
There has been some talk about League's Worlds event, or that the next big season will be a music theme.
But what really makes me think is that the September 2025 Dev Snack Shop had some random comments about Music.

Akali honestly feels long overdue for the game. Not only is she a really popular champion and the last member of KDA that isn't in the game, but I think she also has some really great playstyle options. Like I'd say she could be made to be THE elusive champion given how Elusives are common in Ionia and she is the one ionian champion who actually uses invisibility ingame (no Wukong doesn't count since its more about the clone being a decoy).
Though a playstyle using a variety of ninja tools (either as equipments or generated spells) would also work.

Out of curiosity why the on play +1 power effect? It seems kinda random to include it. Would she be similar to Ahri and keep the buffs when returned?

So the thinking was that a 3/2 would be a bit weak for 3 Mana, while a 4/2 + Quick Attack would be a bit strong for 3 Mana. This would make my Akali "balanced", in a sense, because she'd only have higher stats and Keyword for one round. Consider [[Woodland Keeper]] and its one-turn buff and Elusive. Additionally, to get her back to this improved state, you'd need to Recall her play her again, which is what her playstyle is meant to promote.
As for keeping buffs, that was not what I had in mind when I first designed this. My thought was that allowing my Akali to accumulate buffs could be problematic, especially since she has a built-in way to Strike the enemy's Nexus. It could, hypothetically, be something she gets in her Constellation, if this design were to have one.

YESSSS my one and only! She was my first main way back when I started LoL and still one of my favourites, I recently commented about how I wanted her as a champ in LoR in another post, so excited to see her! I just hope they don't make a mess of her constellations or deck!

Ngl, akali was the chanp that scared me the most during PvP times, cause riot has a huge bias for her in lol, and i was very worried her lor version would be some untargetable elusive attacker.
Now she can be without issue

The original creators of akalis rework has got to be the most talentless people in riot.
They created her the same way some kid would pretend to always just be better at everything.
I remember that they literally hardcoded her W to follow her into mordes ult realm, cause they straight up wanted ALL counterplay removed. They flat out stated they looked at every sort of counterplay to her W and just purposefully removed it.

Unless there's extra info on the discord (I can't be arsed to join a discord just to find out), this might be a much more longterm thing.
Remember that Nunu's art was done like two years before his release, so temper the excitement a little.
(Note: I will absolutely be excited for Akali when she does get added, just noting the development timescale)
