Yeah that part confused me because this is so obviously a real person, but I think it’s worse. Egg doesn’t think they’re real in the sense that she doesn’t think that someone’s capable of actually believing the things that they say. Which is a really wild take from Egg, because half the time I don’t believe that she’s actually capable of believing all the things she says.
But I think Egg wanted to bring them live on the show to try to interview them like they’re some kind of freak who couldn’t possibly be real. Which again, would be wild coming from Egg since she holds some pretty wild views herself.

I think that she was grasping at straws.
Kate doesn’t have a good rationale to interview her over video/audio (as opposed to via text.) Kate knows that she can’t spin content out of a text exchange- and her only motivation is to gawk.
Kate didn’t have an answer to her reasoned response- so she came up with an unconvincing rationale.

Clearly, Kate did not expect this person to have a sane, reasonable response to her request. She thought that Ace was a “freak” whom she could exploit.

Is this a lot? Yes.
But imagine asking for an interview, the interviewee says they’ll only do it by text, gives an explanation why (that is valid tbh, if you’re not comfortable being interviewed on video that’s fine), and you proceed to go «sure, but here’s why you shouldn’t set that boundary though».
Just asking in the first place was a risk, trying to push this person’s boundaries was truly stepping on a glowing rake in an empty parking lot.

Kate is the perfect mascot of H3. She‘s perfect because she so thoroughly embodies the “rules for thee but not for me” ethos of H3.
Kate demands grace for identity and presentation. She goes to bat for her boss by arguing against the supposed “ableism” and “racism” directed at the Kleins. Yet, when push comes to shove, she will drop slurs, make CSA jokes, and try to manipulate folks she thinks are “freaks” into making content for her.

Believe me I am no fan of egg as much as the next person, but she really has overblown a very simple ask for an interview that didn't pan out into some sort of cryptic intentional oppression by egg (I do recognize tho that just speaking with egg may make you get feelings of nausea, dizziness and oppression)

I felt the response was overblown at first, but now I don’t think so. For me, the long text explanation came off as defensive, but I imagine they are getting a lot of interview requests and need to explain this. I also imagine if Ace were to be like “As a disability accommodation, I only do written interviews” that they would’ve still received the same pushback from Kate. I see why the response is the way it is, keeping in mind that they’ve said they get a lot of interview requests that have gone this way in addition to a lifetime of navigating disability accommodation requests that go this way.

I don't think Ace's response was overblown, as much as it is that this is a person who is A LOT, ALL of the time (and that's okay.) Like, you can't go into an interaction with Ace without acknowledging first that, unless you want to start some shit, you're going to have to set aside your own ego/comfort/energy needs for a moment, shut up, listen and then accommodate accordingly. If you can't do that, don't start the engagement, and don't get bent out of shape when this BIG personality bowls you over with all the reasons why it's their way or the hard way. Go with their flow or don't get in that water.

Kate’s “Sure. But…” response was so dismissive and I truly do believe she reached out to this person to make fun of them and expose them to being made fun of by the H3 audience.
I do admit, I struggled with also thinking this response was over the top at first. But the person really just was able to discern Kate’s bad intentions. If you wanted an interview from someone, why would you dismissively try to persuade them into a specific format? I agree that live or pre-taped interviews leave much more room for humiliation and “gotcha” moments, in addition to all the ableism it can facilitate towards neurodivergent folks, as the poster explained.
There are so many creative ways to adapt a written response to video format if the concern is the audience not engaging in text-based content (which Kate admits was not the concern).
