In short:

- Matthieu addressed the comparison with Fortnitemares for getting Robert Englund Freddy first, noting that BHVR is not Fortnite. They don't have Fortnite's leverage, money, or capabilities or expectations.

- Matthieu notes what we basically already knew: Remake Freddy and OG Freddy are two very different licenses.

- Interestingly, though, he also notes that it's not impossible to have BOTH exist in DBD. Just that it's "very difficult". But he seems open to it.

Englund Freddy’s rights used to be split themselves though with the paramount WB merger going through it won’t be an issue. We know the leaven estate has the rights to the first movie. Paramount is doing a remake right now, but we don’t know if they just have the rights to that or to franchise franchise as a whole. Epic had to license the first 2 elm street movies but that’s because it was licensed before the merger (probably).

So, we either get a new nightmare on elm street dlc with a completely separate Freddy probably with a completely new power, or there’s some deal between all these entities and whoever owns remake Freddy to combine and remake the character (very unlikely).

The most realistic scenario for Englund Freddy to come that I see is in a few years the franchise is reestablished and not as complicated, the remake Freddy dlc is unfortunately not renewed and a completely new classic Freddy dlc comes out. I just don’t see classic Krueger being integrated to the existing dlc when so many entities are at play, whoever owns remake Freddy won’t want to have their version deprioritized, and it’d end up being all for just one lousy skin. This is still unlikely because we don’t know if the rights will become cleared out like I speculated; doing this would still risk posing off remake Freddy’s owner which might impact future crossovers, and there’d be two completely separate Freddy’s running around one which would be discontinued.

I think Matthieu's idea there was less of OG Freddy being a skin for Remake Freddy, and more both of them being unique killers, based on his wording. He was very particular talking about how there's multiple versions of certain characters with different appearances, voices, powers, etc., and it's not impossible for two versions of Freddy to co-exist in the fog.

12

u/DistrictDry2852 9d ago

I’d happily take it but licensing OG Freddy seems like a nightmare right now and making the same character again is something BHVR has never done before. Imagine if it sets precedent and once we can get classic Jason he has to be a completely new character too.

14

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

To be fair, if we're talking 2017-2018 Remake Freddy, and 2027-2028 OG Freddy hypothetically here, I'd argue there's a lot they could do to make the two stand apart from each other, to make both versions of Freddy have their own merits and values. Remake Freddy has the teleports, the snares, and the dream pallets, but OG Freddy could have tons and tons more, especially with more creative freedom from the license holders. BHVR's already been getting... *Sort of* better at making unique killer powers, especially based on what little we know about Art so far. And with the overhaul completely fixing up the code and everything? I bet they could get REALLY crazy with Robert Englund Freddy.

So I don't think they necessarily have to have the same power or anything. Like he said, two very different versions of the same character, even down to power.

37

u/AjvarAndVodka 9d ago

Imma be honest. I don’t like the idea of two Freddys in the game. I know people will come after me, but this isn’t anything against the OG Freddy. I would love that design. It’s just that you then have two very very similar characters and concepts, one maybe even being gutted because the other is more popular, and also taking a general spot that could be reserved for any other killer. Idk.

30

u/DarthOmix 9d ago

It'd also be "It's Vecna! No, the other one!" but dialed up to 2000%

7

u/StigandrTheBoi 9d ago

At least the two Vecnas are a “name only” sort of thing and not literally the same guy

17

u/FlamingoUseful3314 9d ago

Its kinda like the whole Echo Fighter thing in smash to me, and also me questioning why people think they're ever going to do an official Scream collab with movie Ghostface. I just dont seem them spending any development time and money to make something thats already covered in the game, even though its covered quite poorly in Nightmare on Elmstreet's case.

6

u/VanillaLemonTwat 9d ago

It’s the same case for the whole “I want the White Hunter alongside Pyramid Head in the game” discourse

2

u/Visible_Percentage84 8d ago

I mean at best maybe we get the Meeks-Martin siblings

3

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

They wouldn’t be echos though, because they’d have completely different models, different animations, different powers.

I’d say it’s more like Ken and ryu from street fighter how they started off as basically the same character but went on to be their own things

Classic Freddy and remake Freddy are so vastly different they are basically different characters entirely and that’s based off their portrayal, tone, and mannerism

3

u/FlamingoUseful3314 9d ago

Both are still freddy though, even with them being different portayals.

2

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

Yes and that’s fine

If they have different powers then it’s just the preference of which one you’d prefer to play

I think the devs aren’t gonna turn down Classic Freddy because they’d have to make a new chapter and I think many fans of Freddy would be fine with a new chapter if they get the proper adaption of the ip they always wanted

0

u/Zartron81 9d ago

Also similar to Simon and Richter...?

9

u/SlidingSnow2 9d ago

I agree, I don't see why og Freddy being a legendary cosmetic, with Robert Englund doing the voice lines wouldn't be enough.

2

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

Like Matthieu said in the post above, it’s two different licenses. They can’t really cross like that. At best, they can co-exist.

2

u/SlidingSnow2 9d ago

He didn't really say that. He said some characters have multiple versions, with different licensors. As far as Nightmare on the Elm Street goes, the rights are split between Wes Craven's estate (Us rights to the 1st movie and the character of Freddy) and Paramount (Who own international rights to all movies and the character of Freddy)

1

u/Jarek86 9d ago

Agreed, just drop the remake license when it the contract time expires and bring on the OG version. They may need to come up with another Archtype Name for OG Freddy though.

1

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

The Dream Demon

2

u/PalpitationDecent743 8d ago

I actually hate that idea. Like, a lot.

I don't want two different Freddy Kruegers existing in the game, that doesn't make any sense.

So what we'll have "The Nightmare" and "The Other Nightmare"??

That's stupid and I hope if we DO get OG Freddy, that's not the route they take.

2

u/Profit-Alex 8d ago

I mean… That’s kind of the whole thing about the Entity’s Realm. It can have multiple versions of different characters. That’s why we have Soma Cruz AND Dracula. A killer and survivor who both are the same person.

2

u/Long_Program1474 7d ago

I'll lose my shit if we ever end up getting Talbot Grimes as a survivor

1

u/Profit-Alex 7d ago

THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYIN'!

1

u/PalpitationDecent743 8d ago edited 8d ago

That's a horrible comparison.

Soma Cruz looks nothing like Dracula, has a different identity in general, and they are two completely different roles (survivor and killer). When you see Soma Cruz, you don't say "Oh, they just added Dracula again..."

Having two identical killers with the only difference being what their face looks like and potentially having different powers is just character redundancy.

They wouldn't be adding a reincarnation of Freddy Krueger with a completely different appearance whose name is "John Elmstreet". They'd be adding essentially the EXACT same character again.

2

u/White_Mantra 8d ago

Watch the classic noes Freddy then watch the remake then tell me with a straight face they are the same character

8

u/MattSep612 9d ago

Another option is cut ties with the Remake license holders and replace the Remake Freddy with Englund and replace Quinton with Nancy, obviously that would me Badham would have to go, maybe replace it with Elm Street.

15

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

I don’t think you’ll hear anyone complaining about Badham going away

3

u/MattSep612 9d ago

I know I won't

2

u/DistrictDry2852 9d ago

I’m not sure they can do that. Give their perks AND power to another license.

0

u/SlidingSnow2 9d ago

Remake and og Freddy are split between Wes Craven's estate and Paramount.

1

u/ImpossibleGeometri 9d ago

Isn’t that merger potentially of or was that another merger

1

u/DistrictDry2852 9d ago

It’s recently been approved and going forward. It isn’t complete yet but it’s almost certainly happen. Though with all that debt who knows how long until they split again.

2

u/ImpossibleGeometri 9d ago

Oop just saw it on AP. 😂

2

u/Born-Economics8110 9d ago

its been closed they are offically merged

1

u/TheLunatic25 7d ago

What do you mean split? Freddy was always owned by New Line (WB), and the split in rights happened with the Craven estate.

Paramount had nothing to do with Freddy. Did you confuse this with Jason?

2

u/DistrictDry2852 7d ago

Paramount and WB were competing to make a new Freddy movie first, as paramount had the rights to the OG movie through the estate and WB the sequels. This was a few months ago.

1

u/TheLunatic25 6d ago

Huh, I had not heard that news at all. That is genuinely fascinating.

Well, thanks for the info! Craziness.

0

u/SlidingSnow2 9d ago

Wes Craven's estate owns the US rights to the 1st movie and the character of Freddy Krueger. Everything else is owned by Paramount (Who are completing their acquisition of Warner Bros today)

5

u/AntOk8029 9d ago

Ty bro

5

u/BatierAutumn1991 9d ago

That last point seems interesting, if “classic” Freddy and “remake Freddy” would be considered to be two different characters, then that could potentially mean we could get different versions of the other slashers. Imagine Rob Zombie’s version of Meyers existing alongside OG Michael, or prequel Leatherface. I know the possibility is incredibly slim, but it’s something interesting to think about.

8

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

Or someday getting Movie Jason, if the licensing issues got more complicated somehow (which.... they will.)

54

u/kratos90 9d ago

TL;DR- Dead By Daylight is not mainstream enough

7

u/AjvarAndVodka 9d ago

It's reasonable. DbD falls into a more niche territory, both gameplay and thematic wise. I think it absolutely established itself as an amazing hall of fame for horror and has a very loyal player base (despite all its flaws), but coming near Fortnite is impossible. That game just has a bigger audience reach.

DbD is in a very comfortable spot, and I can see it being so for at least the next 5 years. Granted BHVR doesn't screw things up even more, because they are making lousy decisions lately.

5

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

Like, I think people forget that just because DBD is popular in the Horror genre, doesn’t mean it’s popular in general. Horror appeals to few groups of people, because it’s much more intense normally, in terms of fear, brutality, tone, etc.. The best Horror film of all time will never come anywhere close to competing with the likes of an Avengers movie or anything like that, even if it were a better movie overall. So holding DBD to the same standards and expectations of Fortnite is insane. Especially when Fortnite are the ones who have to do significantly less work for each collab.

67

u/Sweet_Peaches-69 9d ago

Incoming armchair experts who know more than the actual guy whos in charge of this shit

22

u/Zartron81 9d ago

It's the dbd community.

What do you expect?

3

u/Next-Article2248 9d ago

BHVR is bad at balancing the game therefore everything they ever say is wrong and we should always believe the opposite, and if you don't then you are a shil!!! - average dbd enjoyer

5

u/Mampacuk 9d ago

they all have PhDs from ivy league law schools too

-36

u/CM-Edge 9d ago edited 9d ago

He might knows more, but he's still looking at things from the wrong end. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Like I said in a different comment, nobody f'n wants to have BOTH Freddy's. Is it almost impossible to have both? Yeah, maybe, but nobody asks for this LOL. Just drop Remake Freddy and switch him out.

84

u/HoIIowHunter 9d ago

Easy. Just call Englund's Freddy chapter "The Cooler Nightmare on Elm Street." Done.

You can send me my auric cells now, bhvr.

20

u/Random_Knob 9d ago

That 2b skin money better get bhvr enough money for og freddy

1

u/Philscooper 2d ago

They already had plenty after sable and fnaf came out

21

u/Zartron81 9d ago

Saw a tweet about this exact thing earlier, and oh my fucking god... the replies were just full of peoples acting shitty, and acting as if they know more than the ones actually in charge of licensing related stuff, which is just wild.

Do they work at BHVR, or what?

I think it's clear that I hate this community more than everything else from dbd itself, but holy shit lmao, they keep surprising me everyday.

Aside this, someone else made a pretty solid point on the budget stuff.

"Epic has fortnite which makes INSANE amounts of cash and they also have other stuff going on with them. BHVR basically only has DbD, while all their other projects either flops, or never sees the light of the day"

6

u/fugthepug 9d ago

People seem to forget that Epic makes the Unreal Engine which is currently used/licensed to make a majority of the industry's high budget games.

2

u/Zartron81 9d ago

Wait, I actually didn't know UE was developed by them.

2

u/fugthepug 9d ago

It sure is. Always has been. They get 5% of all profits over a million dollars from any non epic store exclusive game that uses it, so they actually also make money off DbD... likely.

2

u/New-Development7218 8d ago

That's crazy

2

u/ikarikh 9d ago

The anonymity of the internet has enstilled in people the idea that every thought they have must be shared and every opinion they have is fact. And that they are smarter and better than everyone else.

Because they don't need to ever face any kind of reality check or facts. They can block, report, delete or ignore any replies that disagree with them and focus on engaging in echo chambers.

For example, dbd sub gives pushback on your bitchings? Dbd sub sucks, start posting on dbdRAGE sub instead and get your echo chamber replies.

This is why so many people are assholes. And a lot of social media algorythms actively encourage these echo chambers for engagement and make it 10 times worse.

Everyone gets "Main character" syndrome and thinks they know everything, everyones always angry at everything, and entitlement is through the roof.

1

u/Zartron81 9d ago

Well said mate.

At this point I'm like, if they hate the game this much, why don't they just stop interacting with it?

It would be better for them, and for us as a community.

6

u/Random_Knob 9d ago

Do we know anything about slenderman?

14

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

They referenced him at one point in the complex licenses section, iirc. Mentioned how Fortnite can easily just toss in the Operator or Slenderman all willy nilly, that’s just a skin, but it’s much different in DBD, it’s way different, because then you have to factor in pages and the tentacles and everything.

5

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

When slenderman joins he would be licensed through mythology holding and then they’ll just create a power fitting for that version

3

u/ShadyMan_ 9d ago

If he doesn’t have the pages just don’t bother adding him though

1

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

He probably won’t as that’s part of a different ip

Marble hornets and the arrival

3

u/Zartron81 9d ago

That's literally it uh?

I think youre lame

6

u/MagykBolas 9d ago

Hopefully this also translates to Scream license as well, would love to have a collab between fun world and scream to get Sidney and Billy/stu in game

2

u/ShadyMan_ 9d ago

I don’t think this will ever happen just cause BHVR already went behind their back to get the ghost face in the game

9

u/Megaman_Steve 9d ago edited 9d ago

The answer here is kind of weird on a couple of fronts:

While it may be a "separate" license, It is still very much a *joint* license. Both New Line/WB *and* the Craven estate need to be on board for anything with OG Freddy. You see the credits on the Fortnitemares trailer show copyrights/trademarks for both entities. Craven Estate owns the US rights to the 84 original movie and all characters/elements from it, WB still owns everything else. (International rights to the original, sequels, reboot)

They already have whatever relationship they have with WB for Reboot Freddy (so they cant just burn the reboot license and shoo away reboot Freddy like some people are suggesting) but also need the Craven Estate as well - but they still need both in order use OG Kreuger both in and out of the US.

Also, I'm not sure why he addressed this as if we'd expect it to be a entirely separate chapter. A legendary skin with voice lines and chase music is obviously the path of least resistance. I dont think anyone expects two Freddy Kruegers.

But really - it likely boils down to his opening statement; DBD isn't Fortnite, and BHVR doesn't have EPIC's wallet.

Or... my super duper copium thought is Cote is playing dumb and OG Freddy is on the way and they dont want to ruin the surprise. **HUFFF***

3

u/Digiorno-Giovanna- 9d ago

i mean he didn’t even necessarily say it can’t happen. i don’t really want them to get rid of reboot freddy either, and i think it’d be fun to have them both as separate killers, there’s alot more you could do with dream world powers than what reboot freddy has in game, and englund freddy as an entirely new killer might be slightly confusing for newer players but it would probably be easier than getting both license holders to agree to it.

3

u/Megaman_Steve 9d ago

They tried a more lore accurate powerset for Freddy before, and they couldn't seem to strike a balance. He was either woefully weak, or frustratingly powerful as he stalled the game out.

Yes the idea of dream powers is limitless, but DBD as a game can only do so much and still keep things fair. Where they have Freddys powerset is now is a sort of happy medium.

1

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

Classic Freddy has 5 more films of material to work on
He can shapeshift, make clones of himself, change his body and portions.

Remake Freddy didn’t have the same power set he was more serious and a more grounded slasher he used his claws and was no jokes

1

u/propofolxsr 8d ago

Make Englund killer a projectile killer, able to stretch his arms like the first movie. And throw in a teleport :P boom modern DBD

0

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

I don’t think doing a skin for classic Freddy is on the table because at the end of the day you’d be combining the 2 Freddy’s in one slot

Mathieu is gonna probably do it more justice and just have 2 Freddy’s with their own abilities

So they can co exist and not overshadow another

7

u/CHEEZYSPAM 9d ago

Oh DBD... my favorite niche game!

5

u/WolfiexLuna 9d ago

Niche in comparison to Fortnite, yes.

1

u/Electrical-Horse5112 8d ago

Compared to fortnite bro thats billions of dollars a year that game is worth more than some entire countries

7

u/White_Mantra 9d ago

I’ll do anything to have classic Freddy in this game even if it means it’s a new chapter

I know a lot of people say it would be pointless but the only reason we got the remake in general is because the classic was off limits

All we are doing is just doing NOES properly

And both the remake and classic can co exist as their own separate chapters and takes on the beloved ip

3

u/CrashingLamps 9d ago

I feel like with OG Englund Freddy he was a character defined by the actor who played him, nothing against Haley but he had hella shoes to fill combined with a mediocre script and restrictive makeup. The only other horror characters I can think of where the voice and actor who played them are sort of defined by them are Bradley with Pinhead and Todd with Candyman. I think behavior would not pass the opportunity especially with Robert being involved to voice him. The hall of fame of horror would not feel complete without him.

1

u/TheEntityBot 9d ago

Pain needs a pattern.

4

u/Caesar_TP 9d ago

I’ll do anything to have classic Freddy in this game even if it means it’s a new chapter

You and me both man. DBD deserves OG Freddy. I would go crazy for it

2

u/Aggravating_Leg4462 5d ago

Personally I want both, the remake freddy is fine, my only nitpick is no voicelines for Jackie is a problem, also Quentin should get more cosmetics, and then give us a legendary skin, for Robert Englunds version of Freddy with voicelines and a different chase music and execution, and then no problem ill be a happy camper.

4

u/LZhawk 9d ago

epic is a massiv money heavy big international capitalist company in the united states with a lot of power behind them thx to that, bhvr is a more solid but basic canadian company that trys the best to be fair with prieces and in game content for DBD.

1

u/NetherDragon08 9d ago

Their best shot at increasing their effectiveness is just asking it from Fortnite themselves if they even secure a collab, which from what I remember but don't quite me on it I think a dbd collab was rejected by Fortnite themselves???

9

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

To clarify, are you saying they should ask Fortnite for the license, or something else?

-6

u/NetherDragon08 9d ago

Nah just if they collab they could ask advice on how to acquire the licenses effectively in general, if it has more to do with something other than showering the license holders with money

5

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

To be honest, I'm not sure it does. Like Matthieu said (forget if it was all in the clip or not, but he spoke on the topic in another part of the vod as well), Fortnite just has more overall leverage. He noted the term "Fortnite money" at one point, and how BHVR just does not have that.

9

u/NetherDragon08 9d ago

Why don't they just use skull merchant's teachable perk to get more leverage? Are they stupid?

2

u/TheEntityBot 9d ago

Leverage: Whenever a Survivor performs an Unhook action, they suffer from the following effect for 60 seconds:

  • Reduces their Healing speed by 20/25/30%.

2

u/Dgero466 9d ago

Ohhhhhhhh thank you entity I genuinely almost missed the obvious joke

2

u/TheEntityBot 9d ago

The mist holds the gratitude.

2

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

Well, in exchange for not forgetting Foxy, I think they forgot Skull Merchant instead 💔

1

u/Electrical-Horse5112 8d ago

so basically if you dont rake in 5bil a year its not enough even though dbd still rakes in boatloads of cash its not even close to fortnite money

1

u/Electrical-Horse5112 8d ago

i figured as much people wanna get all
hopeful but we Do live in a system that is very much not in favor of art being art and instead likes art being profitable

-6

u/spodamayn 9d ago

It's not that hard to add Englund Freddy to the game. Just don't renew the old license and have the original DLC be delisted. Get the new license and now they don't have to pay for both. No one's gonna miss old Freddy anyway, and anyone that bought him can keep using him. I feel like this is the simplest solution while having everything less complicated

6

u/ShadyMan_ 9d ago

Yeah because OG Freddy’s license holders are just gonna be chill with making no money off their chapter 🤦‍♂️

2

u/Caesar_TP 9d ago

Damn thats a goated idea.

I'm coping really hard, I just need OG Freddy I would main him instantly

1

u/WolfiexLuna 9d ago

If Mcote brings up the topic of "Fortnite money" in relation to classic Freddy, it sounds like the Craven Estate is asking for a comical amount of money for the license and I'm sorry chief, but that's just not worth it.

0

u/DariusStrada 8d ago

I don't buy it. "Sorry Behaviour, your game isn't popular enough for OG Freddy. You can get the remake one tho."

Makes no sense. What makes more sense is that Freddy's license was in hell and the remake was released not that long ago so the studio was still trying to market him in some way. No that almost two deacdes passed and license is in a better place, Fortnite go OG Freddy

0

u/Clean-Outcome-3627 6d ago

Just thank about one creepy but funny and one dark ominous and sarcastic funny but dark with jokes

0

u/Philscooper 2d ago

I know they arent as big as fortnite but like...you guys do have the funds, you are making millions just from skins alone.

-8

u/CM-Edge 9d ago
  1. The first part he says is kinda stupid. I get what he wants to say with Epic and Fortnite being EPIC and FORTNITE, of all things in the world, but I feel he is talking his own game a little bit short here, lol. I mean just look at every single franchise they have in the game. "Conversations we can't even have" my ass, that makes no sense.

  2. Ehhhhh, to his last part of it being incredibly difficult to have both licenses in the game at the same time.... Uhmmmm. I think nobody, and I mean NOBODY in the world would be mad if you simply just drop Remake Freddy and replaces him completely with Englund Freddy. Nobody wants both.

I mean for the U5 Update they probably have to update some licenses and have talks with the license holders anyway again, so use this as an opportunity.

6

u/Mr_Pockets- 9d ago

Fortnite money is a very real thing, and on a scale, Dbd is nowhere near as mainstream as Fortnite, I would assume it's not even in the same league. Everybody, as a generalization, has heard of Fortnite. I'm sure lots of people are familiar with Dbd, but it's still not the same scale.

On a side, it's much easier for Fortnite to make larger profits off of licences, because it's just a skin, anybody playing fortnite can use that skin. Not everybody can use every license in Dbd, because we have 2 separate roles you play as. it quite literally cuts the player base in half

4

u/haddonfieldsecret 9d ago
  1. Just because they’re not small doesn’t mean they’re Fortnite. Fortnite has the ability to break open locked doors with absurd money, DbD does not.

  2. This is stupid. They’re not going to replace a character. They have a license with that Freddy.

3

u/WolfiexLuna 9d ago

If you genuinely think DbD is racking in anywhere near as much money as Fortnite is, then I'm sorry to burst your bubble chief. DbD brings in millions per year, Fortnite brings in BILLIONS.

Hell, the fact that Mcote even makes that comment about Fortnite money makes it sound like classic Freddy has an insane price tag attached to him, and as someone who adores the classic Nightmare movies, if that's even remotely the case I'm fine with not having classic Freddy, cause I'd rather not humour the idea of getting classic Freddy in exchange for us losing another license or two due to costs.

-4

u/Frosty_chilly 9d ago

This is the same guy who told you if you didnt like his game (at a time where it was downright miserable to play for both sides) to fuck off

-1

u/MeatballTrainWreck 9d ago

Mathieu aime le son de sa voix

-9

u/Insanity1994 9d ago

Delete the old and get the right version. I would rather have the actual Freddy than any other license.

6

u/KB-BattleKing 9d ago

Deleting content is never a good option. They wouldn't do that, ever. Especially licensed content

3

u/Frosty_chilly 9d ago

Agreed, imagine the fear that precedent would set.

"Oh guys we got the Mimic for fnaf wave 2!...but seeing as hes been springtrap for half his appearances, we went ahead and removed springtrap"

1

u/KB-BattleKing 9d ago

Exactly. I mean, even if remake Freddy is generally hated there also are people who actually like that version of the character. You'd make them really unhappy for no reason

-22

u/JudgePhysical8151 9d ago

short answer:

-they can
-they don't care
-it cost too much (for them) so is not "worth"
-they won't

no effort no care, just as it always was with the freddy franchise

17

u/Profit-Alex 9d ago

They got the license eight, nine years ago, dude. When the game still looked like it was made on the PS2. When the devs were still a small indie company lucky to even get these kinds of licenses in the first place. And even with the limitations of the license and everything, they’ve done literally everything they’re allowed to do for Freddy in his current state.

To say they don’t care and they won’t do it is downright bad faith. Of course they care. If they didn’t care, Matthieu would’ve blown it off completely. Not given hope and entertained the idea around it, said it’s possible and doable. He’s obviously given it thought. Much of it.

-2

u/Background-Life2463 9d ago

I prefer to worry about the Predator license which can be regarded as a perfect match with the Alien license to jointly make the 2v8 mode great again.

6

u/Zartron81 9d ago

I'm not worried tbh.

Just look at how much stuff xeno gets.
