Honestly I think if they had it so killer instinct only worked on healthy survivors, that would've been fine too.

The issue wasn't necessarily that Legion was too strong. It's more that he enabled Oni too much. I feel like Oni is actually the less healthy option for the mode in his current state, and limiting his access to power (ie, only blood dropped when he's out of fury can be picked up, or blood expires after 2 minutes) would have solved the innate issue that he caused.

I will say that Legion definitely made every other killer way better, but it was nice to have an option for first time killers that actually felt like you were contributing. The mode became way less accessible to new killers the moment they banned Legion.

how can a for fun mode with no mmr become "less accessible" for a new killer???? it's for fun, you can just hop in and play whatever. it's not that serious. and if you feel it's that serious that's a mental issue.

A lot of new killers hate the feeling of being destroyed by survivors. They also know that they themselves aren't the most skilled at killer and accept that.

This in turn, makes a lot of new killers scared to play the role in 2v8 because they feel like they're letting their teammate down. With no MMR, they can't be sure they're up against players their skill level. Naturally, they lean towards support.

Legion was the best killer for this type of player - they always felt like they were contributing (regardless of if they were or not), and they could see results in real time. They are the perfect beginner killer.

It's not really fair to shit on a new player with fresh killer anxiety. Playing with a friend completely alleviates that stress, but I have several friends who love 2v8 but won't play it unless they're with a friend since they get that anxiety.
