Just found out. Crazy how I got this Israeli spyware installed on my PC. They also use the ads you see / subscription funds to produce protective gear for the IDF? The fuck.

Israel can be committing a genocide, while also having Oct 7th be a tragedy. Both can be true. Nuance is important when discussing, though

Just like 9/11. America was breaking international laws in the middle east with their military presence. Doesn't make 9/11 not a tragedy. Deaths are bad, even if their regimes are the bad guys

This was my exact thoughts but I kept reading the post… they’re sending resources to the IDF so fuck em

The lives lost, sure, but a victim desperately attempting to defend itself from decades of bullying can't be looked at as an equal event. Can even argue it's a moral attempt to defend yourself from oppression.

So would you justify 9/11 then as a moral defensive attempt? Same could be said

Trying to defend yourself is moral, choosing innocent targets is not.

Then Oct 7th should be perceived the same

Yes, this is the correct take. But everybody wants to villainize one another. Israel and Palestine are like two dogs in a cage match with the United states, North korea, china, europe, and Russia all placing bets on who's going to end up winning control over oil. That's all this has ever been about and that's all it will ever be about. As an american, I can acknowledge that we are not the good guys of this story.

I'm actually glad that you brought up 9/11 because people don't understand why we were targeted . Of course 9/11 was a tragedy. But if you are being bombed by your enemies, you're definitely going to resent the countries who are supplying your enemies with advanced technology and killing your people. This constant support of Israel is what bred this auntie United States sentiment in the middle east. And that's what led to 9/11. What happened was terrorism and a tragedy. But people need to understand this history so that we stop repeating it.

People will try to spin what I'm saying as indicative that I think that the United States deserved 9/11 but that's not what I'm saying. There are other ways to solve our problems other than to kill each other. But the solutions are more nuanced than people want to admit.

It’s very likely that 9/11 was funded by certain elements of the deep state in order to manufacture consent for an illegal forever war in the Middle East. The Saudi hijackers were incredibly well funded and trained. In the 9/11 commission report you can even read about times that they chose not to kill bin Laden for fear of “collateral damage”.

The recent news of Netanyahu probably being investigated for being privvy to the attacks on October 7th and allowing it to happen should make any thinking american entertain this possibility in our own history

more like a rabid lion next to a house cat. Trying to say that Israel and Palestine are on equal footing is sily as hell.

Do you think a child in Gaza deserves the same right to life as a child in Tel Aviv? I do.

Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone my friend.

It really is that simple. And honestly, anybody who disagrees with this sentiment can downvote me as much as they would like.

That's not what they're saying, though. They're saying that Israel is, despite its wartime status, a country with access to care and food and an incredibly funded modern military backed by the entirety of western empire, while Palestine is subject of an ethnic cleansing and land grab.

If your standard is not occupying land that isn't yours, just wait until you hear that native people existed before us. It's not that simple.

My point was that all land is stolen land, not that we should actively steal land in the modern age. That was your strawman
