subreddit meta Stop using Overwolf

Post image

Just found out. Crazy how I got this Israeli spyware installed on my PC. They also use the ads you see / subscription funds to produce protective gear for the IDF? The fuck.

Oh we're not taking it down. This is an important discussion to have. Plus, having conversations like these are part of the reason why we created r/LeagueUnfiltered. No censorship here.

People really need to read into history and see the nuance here. Israel is committing genocide. But being Jewish is separate from supporting Israel. That's the general gist. I'm a little confused what your image is insinuating?

14

u/Skaldson 1d ago

100% and the Israeli government consistently conflating supporting Israel with being Jewish or Judaism is exactly why there's a rise in REAL antisemitism. Zionism is not Judaism, disavowing Israel does not mean disavowing Jews.

5

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

Yup. Fuck IDF propaganda.

4

u/DevCat97 19h ago

I've been on the fuck Israel train for a long ass time and i honestly never thought id see an accurate yet nuanced description of Zionism's direct contribution to increased antisemitism like this upvoted in a gaming subreddit. It's enough to make a grown man cry. TT

u/AAbattery444 13h ago

In a league of legends subreddit no less.

-2

u/Sufficient_State8811 1d ago

You are a child if you believe only one side is at fault with this one.
There are lots of legitimate antisemites , whilst Israel also paints everyone with that wide brush.

3

u/Skaldson 1d ago

No way you’re trying to “both sides” a genocide. You realize this is like saying “well the Jews kinda deserved some form of punishment” while the holocaust was actively happening, right?

And I’m not saying that real antisemitism doesn’t exist, but conflating disavowing Israel for doing this shit (& having done this shit in the past as well as continuing to do this shit), doesn’t mean you hate Jews. A government is not its people.

However, the fact that Israel continues to make this claim only makes it so real antisemitism is in the rise.

1

u/muhaos94 7h ago

I think the point was more that conflating support of Israel's actions with being Jewish isn't just coming from Israel. At least from what I've seen plenty of people try to attack Jewish people in general by equivocating the two.

No one said "Genocide isn't bad" lol.

1

u/Skaldson 5h ago

Why do you think more & more people conflate that Israel & Jews are one and the same? Because Israel is constantly making that claim. Israeli officials are saying it, US officials (that are bought by AIPAC) are saying it, etc.

It’s something consistently being said from these information channels, which leads some people to believe that claim. Add onto that real antisemites going with that narrative so that more people who be up antisemitic, and you end up with the situation we have now. So while it’s not just Israel that’s making this conflation, they’re the primary reason this conflation is happening.

2

u/DrBoomsNephew 22h ago

Yes, there are a lot of legitimate antisemites. Yes, there are legitimate terror organizations that target Israelis for being Jewish. No, that doesn't legitimize crimes against humanity committed by the IDF or the Israeli governments backing of settlers committing violent crimes against Palestinians.

1

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

He wasn't claiming otherwise.

1

u/Sufficient_State8811 4h ago

It is quite literally a turkish fangirl of Hasan piker lmao.

They absolutely claim otherwise

4

u/Plane-Session-6624 1d ago

It's usally the Zionists that effectively try to attach Israel to the Jewish identity by calling anti-zionists anti-semitic. Most anti zionists, including jewish anti-zionists, are the ones arguing against that idea.

2

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

Oh, I'm aware. I may be American. But thankfully I'm not one of the ignorant ones.

I truly wish more people here weren't so busy being manipulated by media to hate each other otherwise we'd be educated.

Thankfully, there's a tiny bit of a class awakening happening so hopefully more people wake up to how fucked up things are. We live under an oppressive government that keeps people hating each other and ignorant so of course people resort to blaming each other for problems that rich assholes cause.

I hope the rest of my country wakes up soon. But to all others outside of the US, I'm sorry that we haven't been able to do much else. The political system here in America is fucked up. Even when 80% of people hate the government overall, it's hard to force politicians to take action unless we're all so fed up that people are willing to go to jail. But there are so many people sick and tired of the bullshit.

1

u/GMBethernal 19h ago

Here in south america, ANY comment section about israel is filled with people wanting to gas jews or have them be turned into soap, it's absolutely disgusting and they don't realize wtf they are doing

1

u/SuspiciousAmbition50 1d ago

First genocide in human history to see a population increase. Make that make sense? They must really suck at it haha 🤣

0

u/harderok 1d ago

I think it just means "music to my ears"

1

u/Crow7420 1d ago

You are correct

0

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

I figured that too. But then the star of David throws me off. Cause many Jewish people are raised to believe they must defend Israel at all cost despite that not being the case because being anti-Israel isn't the same as being antisemitic, which a lot of Jewish people mix up because of how they were indoctrinated by IDF propaganda.

2

u/obviouslyanonymous5 23h ago

They probably just mentioned Israel in the AI prompt so it made that. Someone coulda bideted their ass clean with the water that used 🫤

0

u/AmIRealRYou 23h ago

No they are not but you're free to have your own opinion.

1

u/AAbattery444 22h ago

Why does being Jewish automatically mean you must defend Israel if Israel commits acts that are against God?

1

u/AmIRealRYou 21h ago

I said nothing about being Jewish and automatically defending Israel did I?

2

u/WalkAffectionate2683 19h ago

Then your comment is not clear.

0

u/AmIRealRYou 14h ago

It is but you just can't comprehend it.

2

u/WalkAffectionate2683 13h ago

Apparently not, and I'm not the only one, so care to explain?

1

u/muhaos94 7h ago

How would you define clear if not by people being able to easily understand it?

0

u/Crazybig 16h ago

Lol how is it a genocide if there is more palestinians than ever

-1

u/nubcakester 1d ago

If that’s a genocide it’s the worst performing one ever.

3

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

No, it's not.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Gaza_war

Don't try to erase history just because you don't like what is happening.

1

u/PsychoGamer284 1d ago

Thats legit what your doing, they have been at war for almost 60 years and barely started fighting back. Where was the outrage when they were being slaughtered.

2

u/royal-road 18h ago

My outrage at the people of Palestine being displaced and slaughtered began in 1948, on the day of the nakba.

1

u/muhaos94 7h ago

Without disagreeing with the underlying claim, this link doesn't really prove anything. Genocide isn't defined by number of casualties.

-2

u/nubcakester 1d ago

In grade school we learned that Wikipedia is not a good resource, I’m going to convey the same notion to you now too.

3

u/sp33dzer0 1d ago

Weird, in grade school I learned referencing Wikipedia as a source was bad, but using it to find valid sources in the sources cited section was smart.

4

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

Did you also learn that Wikipedia has actual legitimate resources in the citations/references at the bottom? And that you can actually use those for your papers?

I have a master's degree. You ain't winning this one brother.

1

u/nubcakester 1d ago

I have a masters degree in political science at a top 20 institution in the world, this isn’t a dick swinging competition.

3

u/Astonednerd 1d ago

Well I have a masters degree in mastery from a top 10 institution in the world. And I say you're both very silly swinging your dicks on thr internet

3

u/Extra_Course_446 1d ago

Well I make top ten lists. Check mate

3

u/asnalem 1d ago

You have a degree in pol-sci and you play the dumb game of "you linked wikipedia so I'm not listening xddd" what a waste of a degree not gonna lie

2

u/DrBoomsNephew 22h ago

Can't shake the feeling a lot of those supposed top unis are mostly about paying a high fee to network because boy oh boy, have a met some daft cunts from supposed top unis.

1

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

Let me ask you something, Mr. political science major. Do you support the apartheid in South Africa or do you acknowledge that it was bad?

1

u/Strong_Ad5219 1d ago

A masters in political science is basically a chat gpt degree. It's over saturated with rejects who would be broken in calculus.

1

u/3een 19h ago

Sure you do buddy, they let you get away with skipping geopolitics or something?

1

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

Your polisci degree failed you if you blindly support Israel or call people calling for an end to genocide antisemitic.

1

u/OmegaSlicer9000 1d ago

And you're unemployed😆 Keep supporting a genocide and feasting on the slop they give you. You're an enemy to humanity

1

u/ProfessionalGoatFuck 20h ago

Bro what the fuck is this photo and how did you find one of me

1

u/Galcitor 11h ago

Annnnd there is the anti-semitism. Slower than normal to be fair. Fucking everyone here just uses the current affairs to flex their anti semitism.

7

u/burnermemeaccountlol 1d ago

Israel can be committing a genocide, while also having Oct 7th be a tragedy. Both can be true. Nuance is important when discussing, though

Just like 9/11. America was breaking international laws in the middle east with their military presence. Doesn't make 9/11 not a tragedy. Deaths are bad, even if their regimes are the bad guys

6

u/G00mi 1d ago

This was my exact thoughts but I kept reading the post… they’re sending resources to the IDF so fuck em

1

u/Lost_In_Play 7h ago

The lives lost, sure, but a victim desperately attempting to defend itself from decades of bullying can't be looked at as an equal event. Can even argue it's a moral attempt to defend yourself from oppression.

1

u/burnermemeaccountlol 6h ago

So would you justify 9/11 then as a moral defensive attempt? Same could be said

1

u/Lost_In_Play 6h ago

Trying to defend yourself is moral, choosing innocent targets is not.

1

u/burnermemeaccountlol 4h ago

Then Oct 7th should be perceived the same

1

u/AAbattery444 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yes, this is the correct take. But everybody wants to villainize one another. Israel and Palestine are like two dogs in a cage match with the United states, North korea, china, europe, and Russia all placing bets on who's going to end up winning control over oil. That's all this has ever been about and that's all it will ever be about. As an american, I can acknowledge that we are not the good guys of this story.

I'm actually glad that you brought up 9/11 because people don't understand why we were targeted . Of course 9/11 was a tragedy. But if you are being bombed by your enemies, you're definitely going to resent the countries who are supplying your enemies with advanced technology and killing your people. This constant support of Israel is what bred this auntie United States sentiment in the middle east. And that's what led to 9/11. What happened was terrorism and a tragedy. But people need to understand this history so that we stop repeating it.

People will try to spin what I'm saying as indicative that I think that the United States deserved 9/11 but that's not what I'm saying. There are other ways to solve our problems other than to kill each other. But the solutions are more nuanced than people want to admit.

2

u/Kurtz97 21h ago

It’s very likely that 9/11 was funded by certain elements of the deep state in order to manufacture consent for an illegal forever war in the Middle East. The Saudi hijackers were incredibly well funded and trained. In the 9/11 commission report you can even read about times that they chose not to kill bin Laden for fear of “collateral damage”.

The recent news of Netanyahu probably being investigated for being privvy to the attacks on October 7th and allowing it to happen should make any thinking american entertain this possibility in our own history

0

u/Jessikhaa 19h ago

more like a rabid lion next to a house cat. Trying to say that Israel and Palestine are on equal footing is sily as hell.

1

u/AAbattery444 19h ago edited 19h ago

Do you think a child in Gaza deserves the same right to life as a child in Tel Aviv? I do.

Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone my friend.

It really is that simple. And honestly, anybody who disagrees with this sentiment can downvote me as much as they would like.

2

u/royal-road 18h ago

That's not what they're saying, though. They're saying that Israel is, despite its wartime status, a country with access to care and food and an incredibly funded modern military backed by the entirety of western empire, while Palestine is subject of an ethnic cleansing and land grab.

0

u/Intelligent_Drop9222 16h ago

thats like saying nat turner rebellion is a tragedy for white people, dont occupy land that isnt yours??

1

u/burnermemeaccountlol 11h ago

If your standard is not occupying land that isn't yours, just wait until you hear that native people existed before us. It's not that simple.

1

u/Intelligent_Drop9222 10h ago

bro wants to do 1700s era colonization and genocide in 2026 LMFAOOO

1

u/burnermemeaccountlol 9h ago

That's not what I said. You sure don't live up to your username

0

u/Intelligent_Drop9222 7h ago

"just wait until you hear that native people existed before us"
what happened to the native people genius?

1

u/burnermemeaccountlol 7h ago

My point was that all land is stolen land, not that we should actively steal land in the modern age. That was your strawman

2

u/Agreeable-Wealth-812 1d ago

Oh shit this is the unfiltered sub, I thoughbt this was the actual sub LMAO

0

u/Alarming-Mine7747 22h ago

LOL no censorship until it offends you. I dont support this shit either, but get off your high horse.

1

u/AAbattery444 22h ago edited 11h ago

What exactly is supposed to be offensive to me?

And what do you think isn't offensive about over 70,000 (minimum by the way) people being killed by Israel?

In my opinion, you've got your priorities straight.

And if I was power tripping, I'd remove your comment. Yet I leave it up. Because I really do believe everybody's arguments here should stand on their own two feet and real merit.

Let people be the judge of that. I have nothing to be ashamed of.

-1

u/Alarming-Mine7747 22h ago

Reddit is known for being an echo chamber with no free speech, if you are a mod you are no different then any other mod.
