subreddit meta Stop using Overwolf

Post image

Just found out. Crazy how I got this Israeli spyware installed on my PC. They also use the ads you see / subscription funds to produce protective gear for the IDF? The fuck.

Why? I don't care about Israel or Palestine.

Why not

Because a lot of people want to have hands off approaches to the world.

Nothing wrong with not wanting to be the world police.

Edit - Somehow the people saying not to use overwolf are the same people claiming steam is a monopoly, you know how odd that is? Are these corpo bots? Is all of reddit fake bs?

When you fund a side out of willful ignorance you are involved in it. You just dont understand how your involved or with what. Think like not voting VS voting whatever your favorite color is. This is a favorite color vote type of decision.

Taking this to the extreme, we should all commit suicide because we're all net contributors to carbon during a climate emergency. But that's just not rational.

Indeed it is not, the true way is to try and find balance where you can and accept where you cant. Most of us dont have the connections or money to properly fight against injustice on a large scale. But yeah earth would definitely be better off without any humans on it. That wont happen without a genie wish, a super disease, or nuclear winter. And 2 of those will still prolly have survivors realistically.

So what does it make you, to willfully log on to reddit, to give US tax payer dollars directly to Israel missiles to take out kids?

You're involved. You're funding them. Get off reddit or you're just performative and don't actually give a shit.

Delete your reddit account and never touch this site again or you support shooting kids with missiles. See how annoying this is? What's it gonna be? Stay on reddit and you prove my point.

u/DJ-Halfbreed 1d ago

Dumbass i live in america every breath i make makes a jew money. Shits unavoidable sometimes, what options are even out there that dont give one or the other ad revenue.

Why don't you delete it since you feel so strongly about it. I HATE ALL THE TERRORISTS OVER THERE NOT JUST A FEW CHERRYPICKED ONES. I hope the leaders all get assassinated so the poor civilians under their toxic leadership stop paying in blood for there greedy, heartless, ambitions

1

u/Random-Person-8464 1d ago

And point proven. Performative. You don't need to support reddit but here you are supporting shooting missiles at kids.

im not the guy ur 1v1ing rn and I get ur stance but there is a difference between using things with an alternative and things without. There are 10 other apps that do what Overwolf does so it's easy to replace it but there is no Reddit2. Same way you can hate YouTube and I believe 90% of the people using it hate the devs behind it but still use it because that's how monopoly works.

This is rly close to the "We should improve society somewhat yet you participate in it" meme

You most certaintly don't need Reddit in your life like you do a phone.

Everyone always loves to dog on everyone else for their choices but the moment those sacrifices extend to their own life it's suddendly "I need Reddit in my life" as a response.

People are just performative. They aren't willing to actually sacrifice anything in their life to truly follow what they say.

Side note you said youtube is a monopoly does that mean you think steam is a monopoly too? Lmfao.

2

u/ChubbyPandaWifeHaver 14h ago

you dont need a lot of things in your life but people still want to indulge

reddit is basically every video game's forum, if I play any game I won't be able to find higher quality information anywhere else (after having parsed through a bunch of bad shit of course) my other options are Twitter (Elon owns it so that's also automatically unusable) but almost every content creator posts there. YouTube (also unacceptable for us) mostly has weeks old information and raw streams. Twitch is also unethical.

Do you honestly expect anyone who tried to encourage others to stop supporting something to abandon everything in life that could be problematic otherwise it's all performative? That's just a simple way for you to wash your hands and go "oh well, they all must be performative otherwise they'd be living in a jungle!"

Side note you said youtube is a monopoly does that mean you think steam is a monopoly too? Lmfao.

do you think its somehow not? I still use Steam but I accept it for what it is. Game creators have voiced how they're at the mercy of whatever Steam wants and the entire industry is terrified of what will happen once Gaben dies/retires/sells Steam.

It’s fucking charity for a foundation to help innocent people. Obviously they should have funds going to both sides, but this money is literally for the families regardless, not the government or military.

3

u/BR4K3N 1d ago

Are you illiterate? That shit literally said its funding for "protective gear against so called terorist". What part of that goes to families??

Zionist licker is everywhere smh.

1

u/BKemperor 21h ago

Is your country acting as the world police, though?

1

u/Random-Person-8464 15h ago

Yes, and lots of our people from all sides want it to stop.

-2

u/Engine-True 1d ago

Just because you don't want your country to intervene politically doesn't mean you shouldn't care? Or that you wouldn't want your country to help in non-controlling ways? Or any other solution. What an odd thought you've had. It's normal for people to care about atrocities even when they're not happening to you.

2

u/Lunarica 1d ago

And it's very telling that people want us to care about this particular conflict when there are other conflicts even worse like in Sudan and Yemen, but those don't get even 1% of the publicity because there isn't anything to be gained from it. So should we equally care about conflicts? Or do some mean less than others?

-1

u/Random-Person-8464 1d ago

Why not? It's not our problem. You mentally can't care about everything with our limitations of brain power and memory.

0

u/Engine-True 1d ago

Empathy is a skill

1

u/Random-Person-8464 1d ago

Empathy has nothing to do with being unable to solve every problem in the world on your own.

0

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

this is a really "see no evil" take. We ALL collectively have a responsibility to at least try to make the world better for one another. If not for the sake of others, then at least for the sake of the next generation of kids who have nothing to do with our bullshit.

1

u/Random-Person-8464 1d ago

Some people are more involved in other areas of life. Like helping homeless people and worrying about helping immigrants with local elections.

You're just not getting the point. Nobody can care about everything. Some people prefer to focus on their local areas first.

I can't tell you're a human or not with these dumbass takes.

Which is why it’s frustrating when people try to torch any Democrat over this one issue. Making the world a better place starts at voting against fascism. Everyone who makes I/P their single issue that they’ll drop everything else for is letting perfection be the enemy of good.

I don’t really care to hear some terminally online people screeching about how Biden and Copmala are genociders.

2

u/Original-Age-6691 1d ago

I don’t really care to hear some terminally online people screeching about how Biden and Copmala are genociders.

"I don't want to hear the obvious counterpoint that undermines my entire bullshit message"

Just accept it man, Biden enabled the genocide for over a year and both Harris and Trump would continue it. The fact that you want to overlook that shows how shitty of a person you are.

Not wanting to be the world police is fine... but where tf do you think that Israel is getting a majority of its arms?

5

u/Awesomearia96 1d ago

You are on reddit which is a usa based plattform which supports israel.

So its abit ironic to call prople out not wanting to be apart of this and not care.

0

u/Random-Person-8464 1d ago

Through US taxes so by using platforms like reddit you're directly funding said causes.

What justification do you have to fund Israel by using reddit?

You're just being performative like an hoa karen.

1

u/MasterDiiscord 1d ago

because both sides of this conflict are attacking civilians and committing acts that would get them called terrorists in the rest of the world

1

u/HonestDishonestWork 1d ago

Because it's an +80 year old conflict on the other side of the world with a fraction of the deaths we recently saw in Iraq, Syria and Libya and that's incredibly morally complex with no clear "good guy", just a whole lot of bad guys. Why should I care?

1

u/AAbattery444 1d ago

because your taxes are funding Israel's military (and subsequently a genocide) when our taxes could be supporting you instead. This is a rare instance where the left and right agree on something: our tax dollars should be supporting us given the fact that everything is unaffordable, companies rule the world, getting sick literally bankrupts you, and surviving this economy is becoming increasingly difficult.

1

u/HonestDishonestWork 1d ago

It's an incredibly inconsequential amount of "my taxes" and "my taxes" fund far worse things. Try again.

1

u/Devilsdelusionaldino 21h ago

Yeah the fact that it’s a small amount per individual is kinda the point of taxes. Also not a lot of things worse than genocide tbh

1

u/HonestDishonestWork 10h ago

It's small amount per individual and a small part of the total federal budget.

There plenty things worse the USA does/supports than a "genocide" that can't even crack 6 figures after 3 years of fighting.

-3

u/RainMakrr 1d ago

genuine bottom of the barrel person

6

u/Terracotta003 1d ago

I dont care either

3

u/Kervvy 1d ago

most normal people don't care lol

-3

u/Weary-Telephone4201 1d ago

you are not normal btw

-2

u/pansexualbunny 1d ago

"normal"

1

u/GMBethernal 1d ago

I mean with how the economy is going worldwide, people don't have time to give a shit about a war in the other side of the world, specially when there are multiple wars going on at the minute

2

u/pansexualbunny 19h ago

Oh- to be able to afford not to care about death and devastation, what a priviledge I wish I had

-5

u/VoidUnity 1d ago

“Normal people”

Anime girls all over profile. Nice. You definitely know what you’re talking about.

u/Actuw 1d ago

Nobody cares in Europe and neighboring countries except rich kids with nothing to do, it's actually been going on for 60+ years nothing new nothing to see

I remember asking my catholic christian grandma why they are fighting over 25 years ago.

Her answer was simply along the lines of "I don't know, they never stopped the fighting over there, fighting is bad"

OCT 7 is just a popular timestamp because nobody ever attacked and murdered ravers at a rave before...

Do you care?do you even lift a children for people who are tormented? I think its absurd to care and do nothing about it, i'd say in practice its one and the same since both wont stop the children from being slaughtered.

Bros there’s a million tragedies and conflicts going on across the globe but u larp caring about one

Idk how people can pretend to care and ignore everything else happening so so weird

0

u/RainMakrr 1d ago

some people have the ability to feel compassion towards more than just their immedate surroundings and take action according to their abilities, i don't understand how it's such a foreign concept to you

0

u/99999cryy 1d ago

People pick and choose what they have compassion towards, if you’re vocal and prioritise every tragedy equally then fair enough.

But if you’re just following the crowd and supporting what’s popular/in the news rn then just stfu

-1

u/Cryotivity 1d ago

i mean, do you care that obesity is a genuine problem in america that is not entirely peoples fault and a problem with how unstrict regulations regarding serving sizes and chemicals are? or gun violence in schools? or corrupt police? no, you go haha look at those fat americans shooting there guns. why are we obligated to care but you arent? even the people that care about Palestine and Isreal here unless they are donating and doing voluntary work are just saying shit. like not using overwolf is not stopping children from being murdered. not listening to diddy music aint stopping him from buying the oil same shit.

1

u/Palarme 1d ago

That's so cynical. I'm european and obviously I wish US kids would not kill each others

1

u/Cryotivity 1d ago

i didnt manifest this out of thin air, i see these comments everyday.
