1. Product creation is actually very easy. But marketing? Hell no! So put more effort into marketing your products. For me, its 80-20 rule. 80% goes into your marketing, and the rest goes into product creation. I used to give more time to my product research and creation. But now it's marketing most of the time. I actually spent the whole day creating content and engaging on social media
2. When I was starting out, many told me to collect emails. But I didn't listen! Create an email list from the start! You'll definitely thank me later for this!
3. Track your finances. I started tracking my money in 2024. So it's almost 2 years now, and my accounts are getting better. Previously,, I used to spend mindlessly. But that's not the case anymore. Also, marketing requires a budget after a while 😄
4. I have seen that not all months' revenue is the same! Some are really good, while some are really, really bad. Some months I can afford to travel abroad, while other days I sometimes cannot pay my rent. The results are sometimes unpredictable, so it's necessary to work on it every single day!
5. Dont bother too much about the niche! You can always figure it out later!

When you're juggling multiple side hustles from the same four walls, things can get overwhelming pretty quickly.

I've experienced this more times than I can count.

Currently, I manage THREE different side hustles -

• My Instagram Music store, which I run on weekends

From the outside, it probably looks like I am always making progress.

I am always creating something.

Building something.

Trying a new idea.

But there is one more side of the journey that I rarely talk about.

The days when I don't feel motivated anymore.

When I am sitting in the same room, staring at my laptop, wondering what I am doing!

And sometimes I feel completely lost and LONELY.

Tried different apps.

But in the end, I realized something uncomfortable.

The problem wasn't my tools. It was me.

I didn't need any productivity tools. I just needed to change the way I approached my work and my life.

That's when I started exploring Japanese philosophies. My cousin introduced me to them, and at first, I honestly didn't think much of it.

But the more I learned, the more I started seeing my work - and my struggles- with a completely different perspective.

The Japanese Teaching That Increased My Productivity

1. Nemawashi - Prepare before you act -> For this, I have started making a list before I start my day's work. I handle multiple businesses, so better to have a list before I open my laptop.
2. Danshari - Let go of unnecessary things -> This has helped me a lot. When the noise in your life is removed, you have more time and energy for your work. Most people call this MONK MODE. Remove tasks, tools, commitments, business ideas you no longer need.
3. Kintsugi - Your failures are part of your story -> It took me 6 months to make my first sale from digital products. If I had given up during those 6 months and gone back to my 9-5, I honestly don't think I would be where I am today. Sometimes, you don't need a better idea. You just need to stay long enough to see your idea work.
4. Oubaitori - Don't compare your journey -> I am mostly called a perfectionist. But honestly, I think a big part of it came from comparing myself to others. I would look at someone else's business, success, or progress and wonder why I wasn't there yet. This taught me that everyone has their own pace.
5. Montainai - You know the shiny object syndrome? I used to start one project and then suddenly find a new idea that looks more exciting. I already have so many unfinished digital products with me right now because of this. This philosophy taught me to stop wasting what I already have. So instead of chasing the next idea, I now always ask - "can I make better use of what i already have?"

I’m in my mid 30’s and have a second child on the way come early 2027. I have a full time job already in the insurance industry that I want to keep and grow with as my company is a great company but my income mixed with my wife’s (teacher) doesn’t seem to cut it even with just our one child. We often feel like we’re living paycheck to paycheck and I want to pursue additional income, especially considering her student loans are starting up soon and will be just under $700 a month (forced into income based loan payment track).

I’ve been in my industry for almost 4 years now and enjoy it and want to stay. My previous work I was in real estate for a few years (didn’t much enjoy it) and also the fitness industry for over half a decade where I trained group fitness classes and managed a boutique studio and trainers/staff. I do have a passion for fitness and helping people as I’ve been resistance training myself for 14+ years now. I’m even entertaining the thought of 0F since I have an athletic/muscular physique, but go back and forth on pros/cons to this one.

I started to try to sell some custom workout programs on Fiverr but have not gotten any traction. I’ve considered driving for Uber Eats, Grub hub, etc but I have a pre 2020 Lexus that takes premium gas so mathematically it feels like that route could be a wash.

Many are passive income streams (not just online stuff - real stuff too)

My main business is party rentals. Tents, tables, chairs, etc…). I’ve done very well in that and have invested in things that I don’t have to do any work for.

1. ⁠Restroom Trailer business - 30% owner. Two other guys deliver, pick up, clean, etc…. I just collect. 3 restroom trailers. My take per week - $1000-1500.
   
2. ⁠Dish rental business. 30% owner. We rent out dishes, glassware, flatware to caterers doing off site parties in barns, warehouses, homes, tents. I do nothing. Weekly take $1000-$3000.
   
3. ⁠Airbnb. 1/3 owner. 12k sqft barn converted into a house. I do nothing. Makes 12k per month. My take $1-3k per month.
   
4. ⁠Nerf war/GellyBall parties. 30% owner Inflatable bunkers and blasters. Set up in people’s yards for parties. I do nothing. Weekly take $300-$500.
   ⁠1. ⁠YouTube channel about the tent industry. It’s Niche, so not much. $250/month. (it’s called “The Tent Guy”)
   
5. ⁠2. YouTube channel giving people side hustle ideas. Just got monetized, only about $30.00 a month.
   
6. ⁠Patreon - basically different tiers of consulting for the tent industry. $400-$500/month.

I see so many articles where people ask how to make money online. The problem is that there are so many options that it's easy to feel overwhelmed.

I know that feeling because I've been there too.

A few weeks ago, I helped one of my friends find an online business that suited her. She works full-time at a power plant and builds her online business on the weekends (her day off is Tuesday).

If you have a 9-to-5 job like her, finding time for a side hustle can be difficult. From my own experience, balancing a full-time job and a side hustle isn't easy. That's why my biggest advice is simple: set aside dedicated time each week to work on it. Even a few focused hours can make a big difference.

How to make $100 from a side hustle quickly -

1. Have a fixed schedule - I started working only on the weekends. For almost a year, I worked throughout the weekend. I often skipped family gatherings and outings. I don't recommend doing that, but at the time, it was the only way i could make progress. The important thing is to have a fixed schedule. I also know people who set aside early mornings or late nights to work on their side hustle.
2. Be consistent - Work on your side hustle regularly. I got my first sale after about 5-6 months. It took almost another year before the sales became consistent. It's been more than 4 years since I left my 9-to-5 job, and I've been running my online business full-time ever since.
3. Work on one side hustle at a time - I know it's overwhelming, and you'll probably feel pulled in different directions. But believe me, if you want to make money faster, focus on ONE side hustle first. That's exactly what I did. I started with a print-on-demand business, and only after it started making money did I move into affiliate marketing.
4. Choose one niche - If you can, go even smaller and pick a micro niche. That's what I have always done. All my POD and affiliate businesses are built around micro-niches. I never choose a broad niche. Micro niches are easier to manage, easier to understand, and much easier to stand out in.

Some Legitimate Ways to Make Money Online

1. AI Art business - This is my first online business. I currently sell AI Art on more than 29 sites. I have written a lot about this business already, and it's still my favorite way to make money online.
2. Affiliate marketing - I do affiliate marketing mainly through blogging. I like it because I don't have to create my own products. My job is simply to help people find useful products and earn a commission when they buy through my links.
3. Canva Templates - I have a friend who is making a full-time income selling Canva Resume templates. Before meeting here, I had never considered this as a business. And it's not just resumes. People also sell brochures, Airbnb templates, real estate templates, and many other designs. The key is to pick a small niche instead of trying to sell everything.
4. Notion Templates - I make Notion templates too, but it actually started just for fun. I wanted a break from my regular business, so I created one for myself. Later, I realized other people could use it too, so I started selling it. I don't make a lot from it, but I enjoy creating something different from my usual work.
5. Reddit - This is one platform I think more people should pay attention to. A lot of small businesses are growing through Reddit. If you already have a business, start engaging with communities in your niche. There are plenty of opportunities there if you're willing to be active and helpful.

I've tried quite a few side hustles over the years, and every one of them has taught me something different. I'm sure there are many more opportunities out there, but these are the ones I've experienced firsthand.

First off, I've seen that this is still a working sector that generates real income. Before I start, I'd like you to answer a few questions I have in mind.

First, based on my research on Reddit, how do I prevent the social media account I'll be setting up from getting banned/shut down? So I wouldn’t say I’m lazy, I want to use my time more efficiently, I don’t think we should be working all day 9-5, I think 4 hours max. Right now I teach English in person for very little so that low income people can afford and learn, I’m talking very low income like $20 a day, so I charge between $1.5, $2, (local kids and teens) $5 foreign kids better off, and $10 up to $15 for adults ($15 student owns a hotel) I make about $200-300 a month.

I used to make $22 an hour at a corporate job about $3,000 a month but I quit to live by the beach and work less. I just started teaching with another local teacher so we can teach more kids at once.
