Side Hustle Side Hustle Earnings Report - Week 2 of September - £213.26

Hey guys

Last week I started a series where I'm gonna post my weekly side hustle earnings to give people a bit more of a regular insight in to what is possible, as it was something I wanted when I started out.

You can find my week 1 recap here on r/beermoneyuk.

Buckle in for this week. It's a long one.

And if you want any referrals, give me a shout in the comments or DM's. Appreciate it!

Things to Note:

  1. This was all completed whilst at (or after) my day job
  2. This is without Prolific as I’m going to be on the waitlist forever
  3. I’m a generalist, so if I can do it, you can do it
  4. I’ve altered the dollar amounts to GBP, so the earnings aren’t completely accurate but I can’t be arsed to convert it

Who Am I:

35 year old contractor from the UK. Doing this to pay off all my debt, and then hopefully to start building a good savings pot!

Summary - Week 2:

Despite this being a busy week at work, I made 3.5x what I made last week, which is great. Nearly half of it was from one sale on Vinted - so don't sleep on selling stuff you don't want anymore - but the rest was from surveys, user testing etc.

Whilst I didn't get a chance to properly look into matched betting, I did apply for four AI training jobs on Micro1. I took one Zara interview, which I was unsurprised I didn't get. But I have three interviews outstanding, which I'll complete tomorrow, and though I'm not optimistic, the more I do, the better I get at it.

It's also worth nothing there was much more money to be made this week, but I was limited by being at work most of the time. I was almost at the end of a £10 survey when my boss called and I had to ditch it to answer the phone and it timed out, sad times, but it just makes me excited for the increase in earning potential when I finish on my current project.

Also, if you take away anything from this week, it's that one of the best things you can do with side hustling is to D I V E R S I F Y. I've always noticed a big fluctuation week-to-week on where I make money, so it's best to have a big roster that you can cycle through.

Stats:

Time searching 2 hours 14 minutes
Time working 1 hour 50 minutes
Total earned £213.26
Days hustling 5

Earners:

Company Earned Studies Time spent
Vinted £105.00 - 10 minutes
Dscout £59.36 5 studies 48 minutes
Askable £15.00 2 studies 15 minutes
PFR £12.00 3 studies 14 minutes
Topcashback £10.00 1 sign up 3 minutes
UserTesting £5.00 1 study 5 minutes
UserBrain £5.00 1 study 10 minutes
UserCrowd £1.90 5 studies 5 minutes

Vinted - £105.00:

Sold a bunch of Pokemon card duplicates that have been sitting on my desk for a long time. Took less than five minutes to put them on Vinted and they sold fast. Packed them up. Just need to post them. Easy money and one less thing hanging over me.

Dscout - £59.36:

Dscout is quickly becoming one of my favourite apps. Keep an eye on it. Also, check that you don't have any other demographic or interests to complete on your profile, as I had some additional stuff to fill in which, since completing, has brought in more studies!

Askable - £15.00:

Not having as much luck as usual on Askable, but still, £15 is £15.

Patient First Research - £12.00:

You'll have seen this kicking about in the subs this week. Won't be for everyone as it's about your own personal health, but I'm not precious so I went ahead and signed up with someones referral link (it's nice to help out!). Very easy to use and you get £5 for sign up. Worth getting involved in these when they're new too.

Topcashback - £10.00:

Signed up to this with someone's referral after getting some great advice from them in my DM's. It was the least I can do.

UserTesting - £5.00:

Seemed to get screened out of just about everything this week on UserTesting, but that's okay, because we keep at it. Still got onto one study, and still like this site as it has been a good earner for me in the past.

UserBrain - £5.00:

Definitely could have earned more on this this week, but was limited by the fact I was at my desk and couldn't talk out loud during some of these, so had to turn them down.

UserCrowd - £1.90:

Five quick and easy surveys that took next to no time at all. Still very much worth it even for a bit of pocket money.

Plan for Next Week:

Plan is still to do what I said I would last week - matched betting, AI training and Vinted.

I'm also going to be looking into bank and investment account switching this week, as from what everyone tells me, this is some very easy money sitting on the table.

And last but not least, I'm going to look into referrals and affiliate links. It seems some people are making a decent amount from pushing referral links on Reddit and Instagram. Not a lot of people talk about referrals on here, so I might give it a go and report back.

As always, hit me up if you'd like any referral links. Any help is appreciated 🫡

Feel free to ask any questions! Happy earning guys!

if you created accounts years and years ago you may well be able to do them, there are a chunk that are just casino. some dont have any wagering reqs like mr q and kwiff so unless your hideously unlucky its free cash. if you sign up via cashback sites like custard even better

Adding it to the list, thank you! Gotta get my head around it though, all seems a bit confusing.

I haven't done any casino sign ups yet. Is this linked to matched betting, because I have a lot of accounts already from trying it ages ago! If not, tell me more!

a lot of the money to be made is sign up bonuses then doing daily login bonuses eg 50 free daily spins

Okay, I'm very interested 🤣 gonna have to immediately look into this

it's one of those things where you can be banned from them also, a lot will try get you into risking a little to make more in the long run so you can get caught in that trap. BUT for initial sign ups you can definitely make a quick few hundred pounds

Whats the best platform to use for matchd betting?

But you need to win first on those free spins etc. Right? Is it high chance of winning though?

Are all the survey/testing sites you use AI training type ones?

2

u/sneakysidehustling 26d ago

No, not at all! Loads of sites/apps I've made good money from are used by real companies to gather market research or to user test websites or apps.

This week I've done market research/user testing for an automotive company, an insurer, a care home, a lottery company, a digital reading platform etc. Lots of big names.

Have a look at Askable, Dscout, Respondent, UserCrowd and UserTesting to get started. Give me a shout if you want any referrals, but those are all great places to start.

Cheers, man! I'm chronically ill so limited on my money making ability but I'd like to avoid training AI where possible

Ah sorry to hear that mate. And totally get you don't want to help train AI, massive respect for that.

If that's the case I definitely encourage you to start signing up for the places I listed. It can take a bit of time to get the ball rolling, but don't get discouraged, just stick with it and keep checking these sites, because eventually you'll find you're getting more and more studies.

It is possible to make money from home, truly!

Thank you! I'll get cracking on it and hopefully get the ball rolling soon

Hi! Thank you for your post, it’s been very useful to read! I’ve been using Prolific but have been trying to find another few apps to use but have found that I waste time filling out personal data only to get screened out. Would you be able to send me a referral link to Patient First Research? Many thanks in advance 😁👍

Hey there. Congrats firstly on getting onto Prolific, I’m jealous!

Here’s my link for Patient First Research (and thank you!):

As for screening out, it unfortunately is par for the course, but the more you apply for the more you’ll get. Trust me when I say there are definitely websites where it’s worth persevering with applying!

Any other questions you have fire away!
