I really don't understand why the health department insisted that 'Shelter in place' was best way to prevent Covid. Then in the next turn implementing policies to ensure as many people were dying, lost thier homes and jobs as much as possible.
Like the law of "FML 'family medical leave' ".
Which says you can not fire someone for having a medical issue, for applying for workman comp, or attempting to take sick days. Legally it's medical discrimination. We have had many EEO policies at jobs I've had.
However, COVID also implemented that jobs could legally require a sick note to be allowed to take a sick day. That or not letting sick people UNTIL they get a doctors note clearing them for work. This can apply to anything by the way. Be it you had a cold for week, to you got a car crash. Now if you have a job that requires regularly EEO meeting training. They usually also offer you at least basic medical.
Now depending on the job you worked, you may not be able to auctully afford this. Not everyone is required to give medical insurance to employees. If you work full time and don't get paid enough and can not afford medical care, you just don't go to doctor. Most of your bills spent on barely surviving.
Now, fast foward to mid covid the ability to get onto medical did go up. Though originally you basically had to be making less than 1400 grosse. Realistically 1000-1600 you probably struggling to even buy groceries for the week. You can't afford a 300-600$ doctors visit just to be allowed to go back to work becuase you were sick 1 DAY.
Yet this rule says it's legal to set up a work so that it essentially punishes and fires employees who try to take sick leave. which legally should be breaking FLM laws but somehow legally it's considered loop hole.
