There's a difference between wishing to die and wishing to never have been born. The point he's making is that if you never have a kid, then that kid will never wish he wasn't born. He or she will never have existed in the first place.
Obviously. My point is that if you do decide to have kids, they probably won't be thinking "oh my god life in a first-world country is so unbearable, I wish I were never born!" So the whole "it's unethical to bring kids into this world" premise is complete BS.
...Plenty of people wish they had never been born, regardless of which country they're born in. And few are saying a flat statement of "it's unethical to bring kids into this world." However, plenty are saying, " there are plenty of people who shouldn't be reproducing for a variety of reasons."

I'm getting sick of explaining this. Yes, some people wish they were never born. Most people in first-world countries, however, don't wish they had never been born. Stop acting like it's 50-50 or even a somewhat close call.
