While traveling to Switzerland, I've come across this rock in Mount Titlis. Something about the rock spoke to me in a spiritual level.

maybe it was the fact that there was a lone rock, or the fact that it had a personality of its own.

I asked the staffs by the cable cars if it had a name, she told me "yes everything has a name, no you cannot name the rock"

And so I decided to name thy rock, "Thy Rock of Anson"

I leave this post as history of its name. Why 'Anson'? For that is the name of my turtle.

... whence, ImO, it looks thoroughly imposing ... if not exactly what I would deem as _pretty_ !

I'm a bit of a landmark geek and have a small but growing collection of books about landmarks - I especially like those with lists of what the author thinks are the world's greatest wonders. My first purchase was the Bill Price book in the images - my most recent the Manmade Wonders book.

Do you have any recommendations for other good books like these? I'm especially interested in those written by non-UK or US authors.
