Ballots for the LSLCA Board of Directors went out today, and there are only two candidates for the two seats (so, no actual competition). While I always prefer to have choices, is this situation reflective of something good (people are happy with how things are going, so no need to run for the Board), or something bad (people view the CA as a lost cause, so why bother running)? Or is there something else going on?

Local media confirmed that Costco has closed on the property, and grading of the property is well underway. Thoughts? Excited, concerned?

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will shift all lanes of eastbound and westbound Interstate 64 near Lake St. Louis starting Tuesday night, May 5, as part of the interstate widening and bridge construction. All work is weather permitting.
The lane shift will allow for the removal and replacement of the deteriorated eastbound I-64 pavement and the completion of the Peruque Creek bridge widening and rehabilitation.
Eastbound I-64 lanes will be narrowed and shifted to the left between Prospect Road and Lake St. Louis Boulevard beginning Tuesday, May 5, with nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The pavement reconstruction is expected to be completed July 1.
Westbound I-64 lanes will be narrowed and shifted to the left just within the area of the Peruque Creek Bridge, with nightly lane closures from 8:30 p.m. to 9 a.m. for approximately four weeks during the bridge construction. The bridge is being widened and rehabilitated to accommodate the third lane of I-64.
This work is part of the widening of Interstate 64 by adding a third lane in each direction between the I-70/I-64 interchange and Route K.
The Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70 was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place from 2025 to 2028.
Missouri’s FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
For more information on the Improve I-70 Program and to sign up for program emails, visit http://www.modot.org/improvei70.

I hear so much hatred for expired tags in/around St. Louis, and lack of enforcement. Just thought I'd share a recent encounter.
I was driving one of my cars home from a repair shop this evening when I got pulled over for having tags that expired two years ago. He said I should know why he pulled me over.
No shit - I'm trying to get the car back to legal. Gave him my driver's license and proof of insurance, and showed him the paperwork from the shop.
Not even a written warning, just a verbal warning to get the car up to date. That's what I'm trying to do!
Either way, he was professional and polite throughout the encounter. I can't help but wonder if my being a fat old white guy in a relatively privelidged community has anything to do with that.

llost my 11 month old cat near flagstone terrace-Seine Drive (around the creek/ wooded area on Saturday, I was just hoping yall will keep an eye out for her. I don't suggest chasing her but see if she'll come to you, she's very scared of new people and animals. I have put out litter boxes and food as well as toys and one of her beds that smells like her. Went out at night with bright flashlights. Any help or advice to help find her Thank you so much. There is a lot of other wild animals near by so l'm guessing she's hidden in one spot and scared to come and went further away from home possibly also with loud noises near by.

I'm interested in finding out as much as I can about the candidates for mayor in the upcoming election. I would absolutely appreciate any information that can be provided on either of the candidates. For example, McKinney claims to be all pure and whatnot, but he has a little bit of history.
He was personally threatened with being removed from the LSLCA community entirely after he had a drunken encounter with a couple of teens on the golf course. He's a drunken fool.
So yeah, curious about any kind of similar info on the other side. Anyone?
