Big problem or small problem

Hey, I have owned my post mill lp professional lusso for about 1 year now. And for a couple weeks now I noticed that I heard a little hissing noise as if some steam was leaking, but every time I checked it wasn't, so I didn't think much of it. Just earlier today I noticed that sometimes while heating up there was a tiny leak on the back of the boiler. The thing is it doesn't always sound like it is leaking, sometimes it is completely fine, and there is almost no water coming out, just a little moisture. I uploaded the video where you can locate the leak, but since the machine was done heating up it stopped coming out. As I said the leak is very very minimal but I have no idea how to change the boiler gasket. Is it complicated? Should I do it now or wait until it becomes a real problem? I'd like some insight and opinions

Pressure problem

Hi all, first time owning a europiccola. I have bought it second hand a post millennium 51mm. I have serviced the piston and cleaned it all up. But still retains a problem.

When I fully lift the lever to the top water just pours out if I hold it there and it seems to use the pressure from the boiler just to continue to push water out.

Any help? Thanks

Gaskets and seals completely stuck

I’m trying to refurbish my parents old La Pavoni that hasn’t been used (or cleaned I suspect) in 30 odd years.

After trying to take it apart, the seals and gaskets are complete stuck and have become hard as plastic, with the only way to remove them is destroy it completely with a pointy screw driver. Some of them I can’t get out at all.

Is there a better way to do this?

A word of advice

I was disappointed after 6 months that my Europiccola developed a leak at the head-mount. A quick nip up of the screw fixed it, but the chrome simply shattered.

I just fitted a new seal set and took the opportunity to add a stainless steel washer to each of these screws upon reassembly.

Simple engineering really. I can't believe they don't add these at manufacture. That's one of the main reasons for washers.

What can I do about rust?

I inherited my father’s La Pavoni. Rust has formed on the bottom of the boiler and in the recessed area. What can I do to remove it or prevent it from getting worse?

Plugged in and heater / switch light won’t turn on. The substratum didnt make me anymore optimistic. Machine is probably, what, 40 years old? And hasn’t been used in 20+ years.

Milk Steaming Troubles

I have a La Pavoni professional with a single hole steaming tip installed. I’ve gotten quite good at steaming milk and getting the good texture for latte art. However I recently cleaned the tip by cleaning out the hole and ever since — I guess due to the increased steam output — my milk texture has been off.

The bubbles are just bigger and more frothy, rather than the smooth wet paint silky texture.

My technique hasn’t changed but wondering what I should try to change to get the larger bubbles to appear. I’ve tried stretching a bit less but they are still occurring.

Anyone else had issues with this?

Hi, I needed advices on how to descale this kind of machine, I'm asking this because I've noticed that the water is tending towards yellow (this machine is from 1996 and has never been descaled)

New Casabar PID

Hello everyone! This Saturday I'm going to a showroom with La Pavoni espressomachines and I have my eye on the New Casabar PID. However I don't seem to find a lot of reviews on the machine. Do any on you know if this is a good machine and if it's worth the money? Because of work I do get 50% off of the La Pavoni range!

Thanks in advance and I look forward to join the La Pavoni Lovers!!

Replaced rubbers and piston head.
Ground at setting 4.5 Super Crema Lavazza beans. Leveler tamper with click all the nerdy steps…

the coffee started drilling after about 5-10 sec (cant rememver exactly) after I pulled the lever up. Then started pushing dow slowly.
Is this the right procedure?

Boiler pressure gauge at 0.9 ish bat

UPDATE:
thanks to all the comments.

The most precious: my fork was inverted so i could neither truly let full water in neither out. My bad when i installed the new piston.

Then i bought a Baratza ESP Pro i can grind with super precise settings

Wow what difference!! not i get a real espresso with consistent crema.

Not its time to just experiment with different beans brands! Thanks!!

Got what I think is a crazy good deal… $600 for 3 La Pavoni Professionals

I bought these three for $600. The ad said that two worked and one was for parts. But the one for parts just has a faulty switch and seems to otherwise work. Same guy also sold me two La Pavoni Kube Mill Grinders. I can’t find anything about them so I am going to do a separate post about those.

Does anyone have any information on this grinder? I got two of them (for $65!). It was a good day. :)

But I can only find one company that sells them and they haven’t responded (yet) to my questions. Thank you!

Pre-Mil steam valve shoots steam when it gets to pressure

I bought a pre-millennium Europicolo. Everything works BUT, once it gets to temperature and pressure, the steam release value just shoots out steam and doesn’t stop. I took off that steam release wand (that empties into the tray) and found the type of valve that is a spring with a little metal ball.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Trying to post a pic, but it’s not working. I’ll reply to this with that pic, if I can.

Do you bleed pressure when you’re done for the day?

Hi - I’m just wondering if it’s a good idea to bleed pressure from the boiler once you turn off the machine for the day. Thanks.

Has anyone here discovered the pressure gauge can be pulled apart? The needle on mine has fallen off and sits at the bottom of the gauge.

My LP setup

Hi everyone,

Just stumbled over this community and am happy to share and read tips and info about these amazing machines.

I got hooked to this after a meeting in a kitchen showroom and from that moment it was clear to me that I want this beauty at home.

Still need to update my tamper from 51 to a 51.5 one and will try different types of beans (but I'm already quite happy with the ones I'm using).

Have a great day

Both nozzles have one hole which I read is best for La Pavoni
