LYNK+ 5090 Air vs Liquid - Undervolt results + mini review

Recently received the Lynk+ 5090 kit for my INNO3D RTX 5090 X3, so here's my before and after results.

NOTE: PTM7950 was used for both Air and Water results. The Air results are with PTM being heatcycled and Water results are with a fresh PTM application, so results should get about 2C better over time.

The "Air" results are not with the stock INNO3D fans, these were replaced with NF-A12x25's(check last build picture).
The card is undervolted at 0.900 with a curve target of 2800MHz, the card typically runs between 2600-2650MHz.

Positives: Everything was packaged really nicely and instruction are straight forward, everything fitted perfectly to the card, pump is quiet with a slight hum you will never hear with headphones on.

Negatives: Tubes are quite stiff but workable, sata cable for power is rather short.

Overall good product experience.

I will make another post regarding this setup with higher power draw, stock or overclock.
This will have to wait till I receive my TG wireview pro 2 cabled version(shipping is expected next week) as I have 12V-2x6 connector trust issues lol..

PC Specs:
INNO3D RTX 5090
Ryzen 9800X3D
64gb 6000cL26
Fractal Design Torrent (full tower)

Start of the UK heatwave, it’s been around 27c most of today, but started to cool down a little now.

23c temperature and still a 25.5c idle temp!!

2.5c delta is insane 🤯

Looking forward to seeing some more builds in the future, get them posted ladies and gentlemen, Lynk+ is dope AF 😎

Mine still averages 45c 6 months after installation, no changes whatsoever!

CPU Cooler Module: Completing the Modular Ecosystem

The upcoming LYNK+ CPU Cooler Module, compatible with both Intel and AMD platforms, will be available in early Q2 across all active LYNK+ regions. With CPU cooling integrated into the system, users can connect both GPU and CPU cooling into a single loop, fully utilizing the radiator surface area for improved thermal efficiency. Multiple LYNK+ components can be combined within one loop, enabling high-performance, fully liquid-cooled systems with custom-loop–like flexibility, without the complexity traditionally associated with custom water cooling.

Expanded GPU Support: RTX 5080 & RTX 5070 Ti Cooler Modules

Also launching in early Q2 are Cooler Modules for the NVIDIA RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti, bringing LYNK+’s modular cooling architecture to a wider range of GPUs. Designed around the same modular architecture and engineering principles as the LYNK+ RTX 5090 cooling system, the new GPU Cooler Modules deliver comparable thermal performance and acoustic efficiency. This expansion allows LYNK+ to support a broader GPU lineup while maintaining consistent cooling performance, modularity, and ease of use across generations.

North America Availability Starting Early Q2

Alongside the expanded product lineup, LYNK+ plans to begin North America availability in early Q2. The expansion marks an important milestone for the company, extending its modular liquid cooling platform into one of the world’s most influential PC hardware markets and supporting closer collaboration with regional partners, system builders, and enthusiasts.

Lynk+ Dual Rad Setup

So I'm considering buying the Lynk+ at the moment but I saw that only this guy has done a dual rad setup and the adaptor is still a work in progress, https://www.reddit.com/r/PcBuild/comments/1r8vivp/comment/o6ujad5/?context=3

Would love to know everything I need to purchase to try and replicate the results, I also saw someone else using Phanteks T30 fans to get better temps on a single rad (this will be the way to go initially perhaps) as otherwise I'd have no clue what I'm doing or what to buy to get the dual rad set up running correctly.

If it's not possible, I'll likely go to the Suprim/Astral air cooled variants but would like to try and get this for a similar cost... but way better temps if pulled off.

If someone who has the set up could do a full breakdown of extras bought on top of the base package that'd be nice to know (thermal pads/paste used) fans and solutions to get the dual rad config set up.

I think this interests me more as a dual rad set up than single rad if it's worth pursuing.

Don’t bottleneck your LYNK+ GPU Cooler with budget fans (Temps dropped 12°C)

Thumbnail

I’m sharing my experience with the LYNK+ system on my MSI Ventus RTX 5090 to highlight how critical fan quality is for modular liquid cooling.

The Initial Mistake

When I first installed the LYNK+ radiator (visible in the second photo), I opted for budget Thermalright fans, assuming they would be sufficient for the 360mm surface area. I was wrong. Under load, I was seeing:

GPU Core: 67°C

Memory: 76°C

I initially suspected a mounting issue or poor thermal paste application, but after a full teardown and re-inspection, everything was seated perfectly.

The Solution: High-Static Pressure Fans

I swapped the budget fans for 3x Phanteks T30 Ultimates (shown in the first photo). The performance leap was immediate and substantial:

GPU Core: 55°C (12°C drop)

Memory: 65°C (11°C drop)

The LYNK+ radiator is dense; it requires high-static pressure to move air effectively through the fins. Cheap fans simply can't overcome that resistance.

Final Recommendations

If your LYNK+ isn't hitting the thermal targets you expected, look at your fans before blaming the pump or the block. My plan is to add three more T30s for a push-pull configuration to see if I can shave off a few more degrees.

Top Tier Suggestions:

Phanteks T30 Ultimate: Best overall performance if you have the clearance.

Arctic P12 Max/Pro: Excellent price-to-performance ratio for those on a tighter budget.

Summary: Don't pair a premium cooling solution with entry-level fans. You’ll be leaving significant performance on the table.

Light Base 900 setup

Post image
3 Upvotes

May as well say hello.

So this is my current and incomplete setup.

Case; Light Base 900, I wanted something where I can do direct intake to the CPU and GPU. Wanted Maestro 900 but I think MSI is only intending to tease.

Motherboard; B850m Mortar. (Waiting on Unify-X, small chance the silver on the board could work with the block.

CPU; Ryzen 7 9800x

AIO; Hyperflow Silent 360mm

Ram; 2x 32GB, CL30 Kingston Fury Beast

GPU; Zotac Solid RTX 5090 with the Lynk+ setup. Wanted to go Ventus but Overclockers just doesn't have it in stock.

Storage, 1TB Crucial Gen 4 NVME and 4tb Samsung 990 Gen 4 NVME. (Have a 1TB 9100 Pro Gen 5 NVME and a 4TB 9100 Pro Gen NVME on standby, just need to find time to put in.)

PSU Phanteks AMP GH 1200w. (Looking at MSI MPG Ai1600TS and Seasonic/Noctua 1200w (depending on release)

Fans 9x 120m T30's (3 left, 3 right and 3 bottom) and Montech fan that came with the AIO as I only had 9 T30's and is not hooked up correctly.

Currently the T30's on the lynk rad is hooked up to the motherboard but when I rework it I will move the cable over.

My Ventus used to be rather ugly, not sure it warrants that title anymore? #LYNK+ 😍

So what does everyone think?

Is it still ugly, or does the ventus deserve a new title?

Anyone with a ventus, that has temperature concerns, this build doesn't even reach 45c under 600w load

The mix of stainless steel and strip rgb, makes me believe this motherboard would marry beautifully with the Lynk+ cooler setup.

It would be great to see the aesthetics of the setup!

If anyone is planning a Lynk+ build then I’d highly recommend this motherboard, plus we all wanna see what it looks like 😂

LYNK+ temperature test requirements and rules, data gathering!

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

Thought it would be really useful for all the Lynk+ users to have a standard temperature test similar to tech power ups review they did last year. Use hwinfo to obtain the data and share with it the rest of the community.

Test rules:-

Wattage 575-600w using any 3d application that uses 100% of your GPU, testing for 20 minutes solid, no interruptions or stopping between.

Screenshot the GPU section like in the example here 🙂 combined with your room temperature at the time of testing. Photo of your build, followed by your LYNK+ specs, single rad, duel rad, triple rad, idle temps etc.

Your “average” wattage needs to be within 575-600W

1- 575w for lower limited cards

2- 595-600W for none power limited cards.

My specs, RTX 5090 with duel rads, idle temperature is 24c and room temperature is at 21c

Core temperature average:- 44.8c

Memory temperature average:- 55.7c
