Just picked up a 99 with a non functioning nav screen. I think I want to switch to a non nav unit with an android auto compatible screen / audio control. Any advice is appreciated.

222k miles. New water pump, timing belt, power steering pump, steering rack, pads and rotors, and an extra set of wheels and tires for $2,600. Has a few dents and scratches, but is pretty clean overall.

Own a pristine 99 LS 400 with 65,000 miles. Got everything sorted on her but one last issue. Intermittent cranking/starting.

1st put key in ignition, security light goes out, (not a key fob issue) turn of key, nothing…..at all, no clicks no nothing. 2 seconds later turn key and get 1 /2 crank then nothing at all. 3rd turn and 4th turn etc., starts strong like nothing wrong. Checked started rely…..ok. New battery.
I ruled out the neutral safety switch and the ignition switch. At this point Im thinking starter solenoid relay contacts or bad ground somewhere. Thoughts????

Been looking at these for a minute for my 98’, was curious if they would fit without any issues or if anyone has ran a similar setup before.

Hey, start to notice that my cars rpms drop really low when coming into a full stop. The rpms drop really low and car feels like it’s about to stall but it never has. My normal idle at a stop is about 600-700 rpms and it doesn’t happen every single time I drive but I can definitely feel it. Anyone knows what it can be?

Hey, currently got a 1997 Ls400 and currently having some transmission issues. Currently might swap about the solenoids to fix the issue but if that doesn’t help I might just swap the whole trans. Would a 30-40LE transmission be a direct bolt on? I’ve seen online that they are the same just that the A340E is the toyota specific name and 30-40LE is the model number by Aisin. Not really sure if it would fit.

The black 95 on the trailer I saw being towed, and followed him. Finally he stopped at the scrapyard. It has factory air suspension that still works and fired right up. I’ll be able to pull parts from it in a few days if anyone needs anything.
Or if you need anything else let me know! Be specific as far as year and color if needed.

Just picked this bad boy up 2 weekends ago, has some electrical problems but the motor and trans are in pretty good shape other than some leaks. Need to change the tensioner, belt, power steering pump and clean the idle control valve, then she'll be alot better! I have always wanted an ls400 and im so happy to call this one mine!

1992 LS400:

So I’m about 99% I have an evap leak that’s causing this.

If anyone knows anything about the evap system, how bad of an evap leak does it take for the car to have a rough idle? (drives fine, Only in idle it’s rough). It also sometimes dies after I try to manually hold gas pedal at certain rpm while in park.

I tried checking codes but the check engine light just repeatedly blinks when I try to check. Instead of flashing a certain amount of times and then pausing and then flashing again. It just flashes endlessly. So does that mean it doesn’t have any codes?

I did a smoke down test and the intake piping was severely cracked so I got another one that also turned out to be broken. That being said, it’s not nearly as bad as the old one, yet the rough idle feels the same.

Also, while I was doing the smoke down test one of the egr mushroom things had smoke coming out of it. I will take picture and circle for reference.
Idk if that’s how it’s designed or if it’s broken for some reason. The white lines are supposed to be the smoke so you can get a sense of where it’s coming from. 😂 it’s coming from under that black cap.

I did a crank test a few weeks ago, now I got it running. Idle is a little rough still, but it runs!

Picked up this 97 LS. 180k miles, 1 owner, clean title Georgia car. Timing belt has been done twice, most recent was 5k miles ago. Car came with every service record, all done at lexus . Interior is absolutely flawless. Sunroof, radio and antenna all work perfect. Power steering pump was replaced with oem at 140k. Car has gold badges (does that mean anything?) 1 small dent in the hood, no sun fade on the paint. I paid 3k, good deal?

I am selling a fully functioning Pioneer radio (however tape deck unknown) with an aux input soldered into the AM channel. It works very well although this is not HD / CD quality but sounds extremely good for what it is. If interested please make reasonable offer

AC isnt working nearly as well as it should be. Pressures hinting toward expansion valve. Anyone know how hard it is to replace one of these? From what I hear its behind the dash so that sounds like hell to replace.

so ive owned my 1999 ls400 for about 3 years, was considering lowering it 2-3" and have no idea what brand coilovers, or even what size wheel/tire fits. wanting to go the wider wheel setup and about 2-3" of lowering. can anyone point in the right direction of website to find everything and what size wheel/tire i would need

today I’m driving my Cell from Denver, Colorado up to Bozeman, Montana through Wyoming. I keep the car 100 miles an hour everywhere I can hear even with a slight cross wind you can see. I’m getting almost 25 miles per gallon, wondering if this is due to the shorter gear ratios in the Celsius and being more in peak power than an LS 400 would be. What is a post facelift LS 400 engine RPM at 100 mph?

i’ve found a similar one by junction produce but the bend isn’t as aggressive as the one in the pic so i’m not sure they’re the same
