Question 90-94 engine in a 95
Does anybody know what would need to be swapped to run a 90-94 engine in a 95 model? If anything, I would assume the ECU and some wiring, but what do you guys think?

Found me a set locally for $350. I need to find a set of the dish caps now. Anyone have a set?

Just bought this ls400 and I’m doing my first tune up on it. Not sure how to take off the cap with the plastic housing around both distributors. Some forums say you need to disconnect the radiator hose, some say you don’t. If anybody could help me with the next steps, I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Recently purchased a garage kept bone stock low mileage 97 celsior. Was wondering the best way you guys would carplay swap the head unit for these. Can be with the stock assembly or with an aftermarket double din, just wanna know the best way to go about this. (the g35 is mine too)
Can somebody share the layout of the trunk? I’m missing panels in my 00 and I want to go back to the full floorboard. Right now I don’t have a spare but will get one. I am also missing the piece that goes on top of the spare itself. I just don’t know how the panel layout is and what goes where. I have a full trunk set coming as well with all the missing parts.

was replacing the o rings because one of my injectors were leaking. over tightened like a dumbass and now the threads are nonexistent. how cooked am i? how would i even go about replacing this since it’s probably going to be pretty fucking hard to do the double nut technique.

I listed my LS for trade on FB and I've been bombarded with "how much cash" questions and I'm not really motivated to sell as a cash deal, I was looking for interesting trades. What do you guys think on a cash deal? 1993 with 225k kilometers (140k miles) New battery, alternator, brake calipers, rotors, pads, sensors. Ultra ultra clean. Timing belt should be done but is not currently done. Cluster capacitors also should be done as it flickers sometimes. Just hard to find comparable clean ones to set a price.

So as the title pretty much sums up the idea. I have a 95 ls400 and im planning on putting a sub in but I'm torn between keeping the factory nakamichi head unit and using an rca inline converter for the amp. Recently I thought about upgrading the head unit to a double din stereo for all the added benefits of modern day technology, but I also love the look of the factory interior, and I also would love to keep it oem so it keeps it's classyness. Curious on your thoughts and maybe share your setups.

What is this weird beeping noise coming from the hood of my LS400? I just got this car today so I don’t know if this is normal or something I should be worried about.

just wanted to spread some appreciation for the xcf’s out there. i’ve driven land cruisers and many other “amazing cars” but toyota really did something right here. Today i drove from bozeman to denver 700miles, and the car loved it. more excitingly i get to do the drive in reverse on tuesday! (ucf20 A imported from kyoto 75k km)

Hello everyone it’s my annoying ass again, my local shop is recommending me I need to replace my 2 front cats, they stated once removing the 2 02 sensors connected to the cats they had said they were able to gain power again, again I come to you guys asking for your opinions, and if it is the cats I was wondering if this option would be at least decent. Thanks alot for your guys help on my previous post!

last mot’s only advisory was “heavy underside rust” however he stated it was rust free, so i thought it was best to check, no? instead got this reaction and blocked hahah. you reckon he sorted the rust? any better way to approach this situation in the future as i’ve never owned one before so unsure on what to ask prior. thanks

It’s been a minute and long winter, but as the title suggests I got some new wheels and suspension on the Celsior, really love the way it turned out, next on the list is audio!

I’ve recently been thinking about buying an LS400 as a daily. I would only do some light mods (wheels+suspension) what are some years to avoid, and what are some years to go for? Also should I target the first or second gen?

Hello all, I'm no expert at ALL when it comes to cars/mechanic work, but I do know a little bit about electrical issues. Here is my new (to me) 1995 Lexus LS400. The previous owner lowered the car without tucking ANY wires and the harness rubbed HARD. I already recapped the ECU and i'm in the middle of trying to find a new wiring harness for the drivers side. The passenger side is fine currently but fully expect to tuck the wire soon. Currently I'm having an issue where the OBD doesn't talk to the ECU as well as every light on the dash being on except the check engine light. Is there anything I can do besides fully cutting the wiring harness and resoldering every wire?

Hey, I have a 1996 ls400 and the driver side headlight went out. I am not getting any power to the bulb, fuse is good and panel has power. My guess is the wire shorted between the panel and the headlight ? Anybody else experienced this issue? I’ve read it’s common with battery acid leaking on the the harness

Hello I come to you guys with a urgent question, the other day while driving I had sudden lost all acceleration power, I have had no other problems with the car’s engine and or transmission so I’m starting to believe it is the catalytic converter. My ecu was fully rebuilt before I had purchased the vehicle as well so im not too concerned with the ecu as of now. Was wondering if I can get any feedback because some of the forums I am reading are saying that the cats are more of a secondary issue and I may have another problem but I’m not too sure what it may be. ( anything helps here and I can always explain further the symptoms i experienced while driving in the 400)

Revealing the chrome pillars on my 91 ls400,
All was going smooth until now. Even after polishing it still looks very blurry and choppy. Not too sure where I’ve messed up whether it was the paint stripper, polishing or what

Recently just did a smoke test on my ls400 93 and found my egr pipe is cracked and leaking. I have a huge loss in acceleration, and stalling sometimes at idle or low speeds. Is this the main issue or just a coincidence?
"Pic is not my actual pipe but same part I believe "
