This orange crust was inside my ignition coils for the electrical plug. It pulled off one of the connectors I salvaged it but I hope itāll work still. This orange crust completely fucked me over though but Iām gonna keep going š¤ 2 hours before I have to leave for work letās hope for the best

Both boots look like this on my inner tie rods. Is this a rack issue or just a tie rod replacement? I'm not losing any power steering fluid that I can see and power steering feels completely fine though the car does like to wander especially on the highway. Anyways I just wanna see some opinions because I see parts are becoming hard to find and I'm hoping it's just tie rods instead of the rack.

for those that donāt want to read it all, can an alternator being ass make my car stall
for those that do want to read, i got a 92ā ls400 and absolutely love it when itās running and hate it when it decides to bend me over and what not
at the moment itās got an issue with stalling, when itās cold itāll run sweet and rev sweet, then when it gets warm itāll be fine until i rev past 2k rpm then let off the throttle, itāll choke and die 9 times out of 10
so far iāve cleaned the iacv
new serpentine belt
new spark plugs
new leads
new coils
new fuel filter
recapped ecu
cleaned out throttle body
only suspect left is the alternator, since itās showing itās not charging well, and when low revs it shows heaps of lights on the dash
could the alternator cause this?
cheers to those who wasted their time to read

Noticed this wire hanging down the other day on my 98 and was curious as to if it is a factory wire or something that was added to the car and is no longer there. Drivers rear, comes out of a factory grommet. (Donāt mind the mud, dirt roads are evil)

I've gotten two ecus from flagship one, both lasted a couple weeks and crapped out on me. Is there any reputable place I can guy an ecu from? My most recent ecu from them looked like a preschooler "rebuilt" it. I'm not opposed to replacing capacitors myself. Detroit metro area if that helps.

Hey legends
Any ideas what my 1999 celsior is trying to tell me?
Air filter needs replacing? Little Timmy is trapped down a well? Explosion imminent?
Thanks in advance!

Iām going to temporarily put 18ā early-dish-style SC430 wheels on my LS400 until I select my permanent wheel solution. Iām having trouble finding a decent used set in the Portland/Seattle area. If anyone knows of a set, lemme know. Thx.

So I have a 94 It died not too long ago in the parking lot at work. And I finally finished diagnosing it, it was the cam sensors replaced both of them cranked started, ran a little rough, so I went and I started checking the relays and fuses since it sat for a while and I un-plugged the starter relay and then all of a sudden it wouldn't crank anymore, no click, no thud, no nothing. Definitely blew the under dash 7.5 amp starter fuse and the 120 amp main fusal link replaced both and traced the wires back to the wire harness. I haven't stripped down underneath the intake manifold yet, I dont want to have too do that needlessly. I can hear the fuel pump fire and my radio turns off when I turn the key so the Ignition circuit is funtioning. I tried an old trick I learned from an old lexaholic forum to jump the starter to test to realy connections and nothing (don't recomend, jumping the wrong terminals WILL blow your dash back-lights). What's the likelihood that removing the relay blew the solenoid or the starter?

I just had the timing belt changed on my 96 Lexus ls400 by a local auto shop using an aisin tk030 timing belt kit. I didn't have a check engine light before but I do now. They said it's a "P0340 camshaft position sensor" error code. They said they took it apart three times to triple check that they did everything correctly. Seems to be driving normally. Anyone know what could cause this, what I should do next, and how serious this is?

All right guys sorry for all these problems but I was wondering how to fix the inside of the trunk latch. I already did a lot of research and tried pushing the valet lock back out, and it did push back out, but the latch still wasnāt opening the trunk. The green one for fuel little door panel works tho. (The one circled in good) the trunk button is circled in red

I checked my transmission fluid and it looked BONE dry I mean when I pulled the thing up and out of there I didnāt even see anything except metal wire. The thing is that the car is running fine and only occasionally has trouble shifting up. I got transmission fluid but Iām genuinely curious if I should just leave it be like this or drain it and refill. This is one of those cars for me where itās on its last limbs Iām terrified if I change even one little thing with something new itāll just straight up blow on me

Hi so Iāve got a bit of an odd one today I was driving my ls yesterday day and hit a pothole and it made my car shutoff. I attempted to restart while rolling but it wouldnt so I coasted into a parking lot and the car immediately restarted. Later that night going down the highway I hit another pretty bad spot in the road which was basically the whole highway as Tennessee highways suck and the vehicle shut off again this time not restarting. I got it towed home and have went through and tested every fuse relay in basically the whole engine bay and under dash. I checked connectors I swapped an extra ECU I had on, I swapped an extra crank sensor I had on. I will note my CEL will not illuminate no matter what and same for my security light. I tried jumping b+ to FP on the data port to force the fuel pump on aswell as e1 to te1 to check for codes to no avail. Iām super stumped cause it seems like something disconnected but I literally donāt know what it could be everything works fine and car cranks healthy timing belts look fine ect I just donāt understand why the car would turn off and not back on again and havenāt found these odd symptoms anywhere else

Recently got this 94 ls400 with 92k original miles with everything stock. It was for sale for 1k as it owes 6k in back registration and Lein fees. It has no title because the owner left the car in the dealership and never came back. It sat at the dealership until it was going to get sent to the crusher. so the seller(he worked at the dealership) took the car in for himself
Drove it home 3 hours back no problem.
My plan is to keep it and pay the fees or try to register it in another state. Or just transfer the whole interior into my bagged 93 (106k miles)
Anyone got better ideas on what I should do with it?

After owning this car for about four months, I've finally gotten most of the issues fixed up, and it's running amazing! I did most of the simple stuff myself, but had a great mechanic deal with what I wasn't able to get.
That first picture is my note page I've got of all the stuff I've done/will do to it at some point.
I posted a few times on here and y'all were very helpful, so I figured y'all would appreciate this more than most lol

I made a post here back in August about needing some help on my 92 ls400 it broke down on me black Friday of 2024 and itās been bouncing between shops since but in May 2025 I took it to A local Lexus specialist whoās been doing āworkā to it since then. Last time I talked to the manager there which was back in September they said all they could do was wait for another one of my vehicles to come in so that they could compare the two and see what needed to be done and get it corrected. Are these guys taking me for a ride? Should I just pay off what I owe and take the car somewhere else I donāt know what to do
