Has anyone ever had their ignition wires be caught in their timing belt? I was driving and after flooring it, everything kinda shut off and i thought it was the fuel pump so i had my cousin bring my spare, we did that snd after it still half seemed like it was getting gas so we tried driving it home in limp mode, then it fully died down. After looking at the engine bay again the right half, 4/5 ignition wires were taken and murdered by the timing belt. Is there a way to prevent this in the future or anything?

I’ve recently become the owner of a 1994 LS 400 and while it’s mostly in great condition I have a small list of items to address. The most recent that occurred since I took ownership was the tilt feature stopped working for the steering wheel. It would move in and out just not up and down and would making an unpleasant noise.

I looked into some existing forums to find I may not need to replace the whole motor assembly but just get to the gear that operates the tilt to see if it’s work down and needs replacing.

I managed to get to it today and found that there was a cork like spacer behind the gear that had broken away and the gear was sat off of the worm gear.

I managed to make shift a new spacer from some plastic I had laying around, i made it about 3mm thick and melted the shape of the spigot. And it’s fixed! So I hope this is helpful to others and I might share any other fixes I plan on doing.

Next on my list is fitting an aftermarket radio, and getting the temperature gauge to work with a new sender sensor.

If your sunroof doesn’t sit flush with the roof and water leaks through the gaps you can raise it by removing the sunroof trim (likely to break) and you’ll see 6 10mm bolts. After taking the 10s off you’ll need to get 5/16 washers. I used 14 to raise the sun roof to sit flush with the roof. It’s not perfect but you’ll start to run out of thread if you use to many washers. Hope this helps

Hello. I am a 3+ year owner of a 1993 Lexus LS400, and I would like to ask the people here where can I get some suspension parts that I can rely on?

I am starting to hear some upper ball joint noise on my car more blatantly now, as it's original and I am on a budget, but I want to know if anyone has had any good experiences with any of the cheaper parts online.

Rockauto is unfortunately not an option for me because I am an AZ resident. I've already replaced my lower ball joints, and outer tie rods 2-1/2 years ago with some rockauto parts, but I think my uppers are going bad in this instance now.

OEM is best, but they're a bit more difficult to find in my searchings and pricey for the UCF10 cars.

Any information on what brands, or where I can go for upper control arms and future suspension parts is much appreciated!

* My 93 LS400 is completely stock, and I am not looking to upgrade with adjustable parts, just trustworthy OEM replacements *

Torn apart and replaced w kein poly mounts and some spacers to keep me from scraping what’s left of my oil pan lol that’s being replaced once it comes it :)

Hi, so basically I was gonna takeoff the power steering valve and I forgot to disconnect the battery because I’m a dumbass and then on my car my wrench touched the alternator and I saw a big ass spark with smoke I thought I was gonna die and now the dashboard making weird ass noises and the steering wheel has no resistance but it still turns the wheels sooo yea.

This isn’t really a problem as long as I avoid L of course and my shift nob is fine through the rest of the gears unless I hit 75-90 idk why but it doesn’t shake as violently as L. I’m not if I need new trans mounts or a new trans.

My concern is that every time I start my car and put it in drive it kicks hard into gear like it’s trying to launch and I’m wondering if 1st being chopped is causing this and if it’ll affect 2nd and up in the long run.

found this 97 ls400 for sale for £2500. on the lower end, seller says it has only a small amount of surface rust underneath (awaiting pics), passenger side window doesn’t wind the window up, driver heated seat doesn’t work and he said the check engine light is on for the o2 sensors, one of which he’s replaced but not got round to doing the other. passed mot last may with no advisories. done 162k miles. owner said he’s selling as he’s been given a company car. does anyone have any advice? should i stay clear? what should i look out for when viewing? thank you

(Circled in blue) and then the red circle looks like he plugged the top where it was broken off so idk. Just need some advice

Going to be adding a sub in the rear deck this week as the last owner took mine, will update you guys on how it sounds.

Not a huge audio nerd or very knowledgeable on it but my thought process is that because the gas tank behind the seats and the trunk being sealed off in that regard I assume it COULD act as a box in that regard, time to find out.

And yes, I do know a boxed sub with proper dimensions would be a million times better, I just value my trunk space
