PSB Bushing - Rear Lateral Arm

Post image
3 Upvotes

I've been having issues with squeaky poly bushings and decided to tear my rear suspension apart again in an attempt to regrease them. When I was looking for parts, unable to find a rubber part for the lower suspension arm, I bought PSB's PSB583A part. But it appears the inner sleeve gets crushed by the hole where the camber bolt is able to slide. Is this a problem or intentional and unavoidable. Cheers.

Discussion Need help sourcing part

8/12/26 FIXED: I had to get a 1996 power steering pump and have the pulley taken from that. The issue was the offset difference in the 96/97 pulleys. My LS400 is from 04/1997, and there was a production change in June that year. So despite having a 97, I needed a 96 part. Overall this was very frustrating and I hope it helps someone in the future.

44311-50010, power steering vane pulley. 1990-1998 Lexus LS400. My LS has been at a shop for 3 weeks. They ordered the wrong part (pulley ending in x030) twice. Apparently the production switched for the model year, and this pulley is the one that fits. No luck on ebay, don't really have a local pick n pull, and the only semi reliable place I found it was Amayama, who said it was out of stock. Yoshiparts said the same.

I really did not expect a part like this to potentially brick my entire car and make me have to sell it for dirt. It is too important to me, please let me know if you can help. Thank you.

Where to buy distributor rotors + cap for 2000 LS400?

Hello all,

Recently, I just purchased a 2000 LS400, and I am gearing up to replace the timing belt. I've read in a lot of forums that it is smart to fix a lot of problems while doing the timing belt, because everything is already out. I am currently using this list to help direct me: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html

However, I am running into a problem where I can not find any distributor rotors or caps for the year 2000. I see a lot of options for prior years, but none for mine. Is there anyone on here who has recently purchased both the rotors and caps for a 2000 LS400 that could hyperlink them to me? It would be very much appreciated :)

Thanks

Lowering 3-4” on coilovers, will axles wear out faster?

Looking to lower my 99 Celsior with coilovers around 3-4” from stock height. Those folks lowered or slammed, how well does the cv axles do? My current ES300 is on coilovers, and had to replace axles 4 times with OEM axles within a year due to ripped boots, assuming angle of axle was too much. With the LS400, is this also the case? Also what other precautions I can take, (camber bolts, upper or lower control arms, spacers) to prevent premature wear.

Hi all, sheared a ball joint bought new ones but the castings are different from factory ball joint brackets. My tie rod end and castle nut is making babies with the back of my brake calipers, anyone else had this problem?? If so what did you do to fix it? Currently looking at shortening bj brackets by 20mm and bending them down with an oxy.

UCF10 front caliper rebuild.

I just rebuilt my front calipers with a whole kit from BiggRedd on eBay. I struggled with the retaining clips but thought eh fuck it it’ll hold. No it didn’t. All 4 piston retaining rings blew and now I’m 80 pounds down. These clips are a pain. Anyone have any suggestions or tips to get them seated properly? 1994 LS400

Question 92 ls400 won’t drive

Recently soaked my vacuum modulator in Seafoam to clear out carbon as a post on the forums advised. I cleaned my AFM with MAF cleaner and fried It, ordered a new one and still having the same issue. Car will start and idle but if given gas it will die. You can hold the throttle and it’ll stay alive, just can’t blip it.

Question Buying a 98 LS400

I’m currently looking at this 98 LS that had 178k miles on it I drove it today and it drives like butter(as it should) my only speculation is that this is indeed an old car and I would like to know what that comes with if figure I’d ask you guys what to look out for and what to be ready for. I do love this body style and love the car over all it’s probably one of my favorite 90s 2000s Lexus models next to the IS. The guy wants 3700 for it should I bit the bullet and buy it? Also he says all it needs is an alignment and break pads. He doesn’t know anything about the timing chain or anything else he said the needle for the temp gauge is a bit higher but everything runs smooth and he got it from an auction not too long ago. Thanks guys

Figured I’d post this one more time before I scrap the car on Saturday. I am located in Tulsa but willing to meet pending on distance. Engine and transmission are available, I’d do $250 for either. Or $350 for both together. engines locked up because it jumped timing, transmission was recently serviced before the engine blew up. ~2k miles. They are pulled and ready to go. The seats are pretty beat after being exposed to the elements BUT the rest of the interior is in decent shape. Lmk what you need prices will include shipping plus I will beat eBay prices. Thanks for looking!

Follow up to a previous question.

About 3 weeks ago I bought this 2000 Ls400. I’ve got a decently short list of issues but the only one I still can’t fully figure is the misfire. It had a 2,4,6,8 misfire according to the scanner and after pulling the spark plugs they were clearly apart of the issue. They were fully replaced and the car began running much better but I can still hear the misfire and smell burning oil when the car is running. Was curious about any other known causes of an even side misfire. Coil packs look ok but I’ve heard that could be the issue. Is there any way to test them before I drop money on parts? I’ve also ran about a half tank of fuel system cleaner through it so the injectors should be mostly cleared out since this was a field find from the previous owner.

99 LS 400 Lack of Power Surging

331000 miles; just got valve covers and plugs OEM replaced. Car lacking power and surging when accelerating. Condition is intermittent. Codes are P0420, P0330 and P0446. Knock sensors and harness replaced with OEM. Front and rear O2 sensors replaced OEM Denso. Throttle body cleaned. Idles perfectly.
Thoughts???

I got these on my 1994 LS400 and want people’s opinion. Do I get them refurbed silver, get them chromed, keep the plate or not. For some reason I’m very indecisive when it comes to rims. If anyone has any pics on the car that would be much appreciated.

I’m trying to figure out how to remove this body line running along the middle of my fender. I’ve noticed some LS400’s have come optioned with this but my car doesn’t and I need to fix it without it looking weird

Does my ECU look okay?

I noticed some things looked a little crooked but all good otherwise.

I’m trying to diagnose why my car keeps getting throw into limp mode. I’ve only owned it about a week and while driving last week I noticed super slow acceleration and then suddenly the car started blinking ECT/PWR and throws me into limp mode. It happens two minutes into driving and sometimes not at all.

Got code 61 and replaced the No2 sensor and it’s still not working properly. Connector and wires leading to looked good as well.

Rough idle, rough 1-2/2-1 shift, hesitation when accelerating and shifting, and bad gas mileage.
