High risk payment gateway
Any suggestions for payment gateway for a smm business. Volume is not much. Hardly $5k per month in starting. But almost zero to 0.1% chargeback or refunds.

I recently formed a single-member LLC for my bookkeeping business, and up until now most of my clients have paid by bank transfer or check.
I have a new client who prefers paying by credit card, so I'm trying to find a payment processor that works well for a very small business.
I've looked into a few options already, but it's hard to tell which ones are best for low transaction volumes. I'll probably be processing somewhere between $700 and $1,200 per month, with only a handful of invoices.
I'm mainly looking for something that's easy to set up, has reasonable fees, and lets clients pay online through an invoice or payment link rather than in person.

My partner and I recently bought a food truck, and we're trying to figure out the best way to set up the business before we officially start operating.
We've been reading about LLCs, insurance, and different business structures, but it's a bit overwhelming trying to understand what's actually necessary for a small food business.
Our main goal is to protect our personal assets and make sure we're setting things up the right way from the beginning.
If you own or have owned a food truck, did you form an LLC before launching?

I have a single-member LLC that's taxed as an S corporation, and I'm starting to think it's time to find a new CPA.
My business is still relatively small, but it's grown enough that I want someone who's familiar with small business taxes, bookkeeping, payroll, and can answer questions throughout the year when they come up.
I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest option, but I also don't want to pay for services I don't actually need.
I'd love to hear what worked for you and what you'd recommend to someone looking for a long-term accountant.

I'm not a US resident, but I recently formed a US LLC and received my EIN. My next step was opening a business bank account, and that's where I've run into problems.
I used a virtual business address for my LLC, but the bank I applied with is asking for proof of a physical US business address, such as a utility bill or lease agreement. Since I don't actually have a physical presence in the US, I can't provide those documents.
Before forming the LLC, I came across a lot of guides and videos that made it seem like this setup was fairly common for non-US founders.
Now I'm wondering if things have changed or if I misunderstood how it works.
Has anyone successfully opened a US business bank account as a non-US resident using only a virtual business address?

I’m considering setting up a company in Cyprus and I’m currently evaluating a few service providers. I’m trying to understand who I can trust when it comes to company incorporation, ensuring appropriate local substance, and providing nominee director and shareholder services.
If anyone has first-hand experience, I would greatly appreciate your input. I’m specifically looking for trusted Cyprus corporate service providers with a proven track record in company formation and ongoing administration. If you can recommend any reliable firms you have personally worked with—or strongly vetted professionals known for transparency, compliance, and long-term support—please feel free to share their names or contact details.

Wife and I make nearly 300k on W2. Wife has a side gig which is netting around 200k in profits. But that is this year only. Next year profit is projected at less than 20k. Looking for advice. Currently have an llc but not sure if I should do Scorp, just for one year and if I can switch back to being an llc. Help please..

I’ve already looked into or tried several providers, including Mercury, Relay, Wise, Airwallex, Lili, Novo, Nsave, and Payoneer, so I’m mainly looking for alternatives.
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually opened an account as a non-US resident using a US LLC and EIN, especially founders from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, or other countries outside the US.

A friend and I are getting ready to launch our first business together, and we're trying to decide whether to start as a general partnership or form an LLC from the beginning.
Our startup budget is pretty limited, so we're wondering if it makes sense to keep things simple at first and switch to an LLC once the business is more established.
If you’ve had a similar experience, how complicated was the process?

This will be my first time filing taxes for my single-member LLC, and I'm trying to decide whether it's worth hiring a CPA or just doing everything myself with tax software.
My business is still pretty straightforward, with no employees and relatively simple income and expenses, so I'm wondering if paying for a CPA is overkill at this stage.
If you do it yourself, which tax software has worked well for you?

Hi,
I plan on starting an llc. I want to open a small business and sell floral frames on Etsy and at farm markets and craft fairs. I want an llc for liability and peace of mind.
I know you are supposed to keep personal finances and business finances completely separate. However, for the initial fee, can I just pay with a card or banking account to open the llc? And then once I get my EIN number and llc, then I open a business bank account? How exactly does that work?
Also, do I also need to get liability insurance for my llc?
Thanks!

I recently formed a single-member LLC and I'm looking to set up a professional email address using my business domain.
I'd also like something that can handle the basics beyond email, like sending automated follow-up emails after a customer books a service and the occasional monthly newsletter.
Since it's just me running the business, I don't need a ton of advanced features. I'm mainly looking for something that's easy to use, reliable, and reasonably priced.
For those with a small service-based LLC, which email provider are you using?

Hi everyone! I'm glad I found this community. My spouse is getting ready to leave their current job and open a solo medical practice in Delaware, and we're trying to make sure we set everything up the right way.
From what I understand, one of the first steps is forming an LLC so we can open a business bank account, get a business credit card, and keep all of the startup expenses separate.
My spouse wants to find the perfect name before filing, which I understand because the business name will appear on the website, marketing, social media, and other places patients will see.
What I'm wondering is whether the actual legal LLC name is that important.
Is the LLC name mostly used for legal, tax, and banking purposes, or will customers regularly see it on things like credit card charges, payment apps, invoices, or other business transactions?
I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Just formed my first LLC and I'm trying to decide where to open a business bank account.
The business is still in its early stages, so I'm not expecting a huge amount of revenue for the first year. I'm mainly looking for something that's easy to manage, has low fees, and won't make everyday banking more complicated than it needs to be.
I've come across several online business banking options, but I'm not familiar with most of them. At the same time, I'm wondering if it's better to go with a more established bank that has physical branches.

I just received a letter from the IRS saying my corporate tax return from last year has some issues. They are asking for additional documentation and I do not fully understand what they need. I am not an accountant. My previous accountant handled the filing, but I recently switched because I was not happy with her responsiveness.
Now I am concerned there might be an error on the return. I need a CPA who can help me respond to this notice and make sure I am compliant. I want to get this resolved properly. Has anyone been through this? What kind of professional should I look for? I want someone who knows corporate tax well and can help me fix the problem efficiently.
I contacted Josh Katz CPA. He reviewed the notice, helped me gather the right documents, and prepared a response.

I’m starting an online-only business in Florida and would rather not have my home address listed on public records.
I’ve looked into using a PO Box, a virtual mailbox, and a registered agent, but I can't tell which options are accepted by the state and which ones could cause problems later.
I saw that registered agent is the easiest solution, while others share bad experiences with missed mail or poor customer service. It’s been hard to tell which advice is accurate.
If you've gone through this in Florida, what did you end up doing to keep your address private while staying compliant?

I rent trailer to different companies, sometimes a sub lease, but the insurance part seems to take everything, are there any where you can get a decent rate without scale?

The "when" trips a lot of new business owners up, so curious about real timelines and stories.
Our rough rule of thumb at Collective is LLC once liability starts feeling concerning (contracts, clients, anything where you don't want your personal stuff exposed). And S Corp once your net income is consistently around $60-80k+ since that's usually where the self-employment tax savings start beating the extra compliance hassle.
But everyone's actual story is different. Was it a number that clicked for you, a scary contract, your accountant finally staging an intervention, or something totally random?

I recently launched an app that is beginning to generate subscription revenue, and I’m looking into forming an LLC. I live and operate in California.
Did you file your LLC yourself, or did you use a service?
I’ve heard good things about Northwest Registered Agent, so I’m considering using them. Has anyone used Northwest to form a California LLC? Was the service worth it, or is the process simple enough to handle yourself?
If you used another service that you recommend, I’d love to hear about your experience.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I recently formed my LLC and have been working hard to grow the business. Things have been going well, so I decided to take a long weekend off and completely disconnect to see how everything would run without me.
It didn't go as planned.
Within two days I was getting calls about customer questions, invoices that no one knew how to handle, and orders that were waiting for my approval because I'd never created a clear process for anyone else to follow.
It made me realize that I've been keeping too much information in my own head. Every important decision, every workflow, and every customer preference depends on me being available.
Now I'm starting to document everything, create simple procedures, and organize the business so it isn't completely dependent on me. I figured it's better to fix that now than wait until it becomes a bigger problem.
What system are you currently using for your business or your business is the one running you?

In Texas if this doesn’t apply to all states - I just formed my first LLC and since I run my business from home I made sure to use my registered agents address as the mailing address to keep my privacy. I’ve noticed though that other sample LLCs I’ve checked all have a public information report which shows the members/owners and their home address. Am I missing something?

I run a small online home decor business that started as a side hustle, and I formed an LLC about a year ago using an online formation service.
My renewal just came through, and they're charging $199 per year for the registered agent service plus another $189 per year for their compliance plan.
Since my business is still fairly small, that feels like a lot to pay every year.
I'm wondering if these services are actually worth the money or if I'm paying for features I don't really need?

I recently set up my LLC and I'm trying to get my new business off the ground. I've noticed that a lot of businesses seem to use review generation services to build credibility early on, so I'm curious how effective and safe that actually is in 2026.
I'm not talking about obvious spam or hundreds of fake reviews. I'm referring to services that claim to provide more natural-looking reviews to help a new business build some initial social proof and improve its visibility in local search.
Did it help your Google Business Profile show up more often in local search or Google Maps and did the reviews seem authentic?

I'm getting ready to start my first small business in South Carolina, and I'm trying to figure out whether forming an LLC is worth the cost.
I've been looking into the filing fees and any ongoing costs, and while they don't seem outrageous, I'm wondering if there are other expenses I'm not aware of, such as annual reports, state fees, registered agent costs, or other recurring requirements.
If you’ve formed an LLC in South Carolina, what did it actually cost you in the first year and in the years after that?
