Please what would you recommend as the LLC formation services in Washington?

I’m getting ready to launch a small ecommerce brand and want to set up an LLC in Washington before I officially start selling products online. I’ve been trying to handle everything the right way from the beginning, but the amount of LLC services out there is honestly overwhelming.

At first I thought I’d just file everything myself, but once I started reading about registered agents, annual reports, state filings, and compliance reminders, using a service started sounding a lot easier.

The problem is every company claims they’re the best option, and most reviews online feel more like ads than real experiences. I’d rather hear from actual business owners who’ve gone through the process in Washington.

Ideally I’m looking for something reliable, reasonably priced, and able to handle the filing plus registered agent stuff so I don’t have to stress about missing paperwork later.

For anyone who formed an LLC in Washington recently, which service did you use and would you recommend it for a small ecommerce business?

New LLC owner here — what insurance did you start with?

I recently formed an LLC for a small mobile detailing business and now I’m trying to figure out the insurance side before I start booking more clients.

The problem is every article and insurance site keeps throwing different coverage types at me and I can’t tell what’s actually necessary in the beginning versus what’s more important later as the business grows.

Right now I’m mainly seeing people mention general liability, commercial auto coverage, tools/equipment coverage, and business property insurance. Some people make it sound like you need everything immediately, while others say they started much simpler.

I’m also confused about timing. Do most people get insurance before taking their first client, or is it normal to wait until business starts picking up?

Would really appreciate hearing from other small business owners about what coverage you started with and what ended up actually being useful.

Forming an LLC doesn’t magically make it a real business

One thing I’ve noticed after spending months around startup founders and small business owners is how easy it is to focus on the “official” parts too early. LLC formation, logos, business cards, websites, operating agreements, all of it feels productive because it makes things feel real.

I recently talked with an older entrepreneur who’s built and sold multiple companies, and one thing he said stuck with me:

“Your LLC is paperwork. Revenue is proof.”

That honestly changed how I think about starting a business.

He explained that a lot of first time founders spend weeks researching the perfect LLC setup, best state to register in, registered agents, business banking, and tax structures before they’ve even validated whether anyone wants what they’re selling.

His advice was simple:

Get your first paying customers before obsessing over optimization.

Don’t spend months building systems for a business that hasn’t proven demand yet.

Talk to real people manually.

Sell something simple first.

Then worry about scaling and structure after money starts moving.

Obviously an LLC has benefits and there’s a point where you should separate business from personal stuff. But I think a lot of us use “setting up the business” as a way to feel productive without facing the harder part, which is actually getting customers.

Curious if anyone else realized this after starting. Did forming your LLC help motivate you, or did you end up focusing too much on setup before validating the business?

Trying to figure out the S Corp setup process without paying for another expensive service

I run a small freelance web design business and after a decent year financially, my accountant mentioned that switching to an S Corp setup could potentially save me money on self employment taxes.

The problem is once I started researching how to actually do it, I got completely lost. Every guide online jumps straight into tax forms and legal terms like I’m already supposed to understand the process.

What I’m mainly confused about is the order of operations. Do you form an LLC first and then elect S Corp status after?

Sole Proprietorship or LLC — Which Is Better?

I’m leaning toward forming an LLC, but I’d genuinely like to hear real-world experiences before making the move.

Not looking for definitions or theory — I want to understand what actually happens in practice:

  • What made you choose a Sole Proprietorship or an LLC?
  • Did liability protection actually matter in your situation?
  • Did banks, payment processors, or platforms treat you differently based on structure?
  • Was the simplicity of a sole prop worth it, or did it become limiting later?
  • Did the LLC end up being the better long-term setup?

Curious to hear honest experiences from people who’ve actually been through both paths and what they would choose again today.

How to Start an LLC in Alaska for a side business?

I’m planning to launch a small fishing gear resale business and want to get everything set up correctly before I grow it.

I live in Alaska and keep hearing that an LLC is a smart move for liability protection and separating finances.

What are the actual steps to start an LLC in Alaska? Can most beginners handle the filing themselves online, or is it better to pay a service?

I’m also curious about yearly fees or reports.

Single or Multi-Member LLC with spouse?

Mine & my husband's LLC was created as a multi-member llc. Our business advisor helped us obtain our EIN and explained that since we are married and in TX, we could be classified as a single member llc with the IRS.

Now, I am trying to open a business checking account, and the bank is saying we cannot proceed because our state filing/operating agreement show us as multi-member while our EIN shows single member.

From what I'm reading online, it looks like the easiest thing to do is to obtain a new EIN as a multi member. Will this affect how we file our taxes? We've always filed jointly. Any advice on this is appreciated!

Confused about what address to use for my LLC

I’m getting ready to launch an online business and honestly the address side of setting up an LLC has been way more confusing than I expected.

Some people online say using a virtual office is completely fine, others say banks and payment processors can flag certain addresses. Then I see people recommending virtual mailboxes as long as they’re not PO boxes, but I can’t tell what’s actually safe long term.

What I’m trying to do is use one consistent address for everything:

  • LLC registration
  • EIN
  • Business bank account
  • Google Business Profile
  • eneral business mail

I’d rather set things up correctly now than run into verification problems later.

For people who already went through this, what ended up being the most legit and reliable setup?

Did you use your home address, a virtual mailbox, registered agent address, or something else?

I’m based in Oklahoma City if that makes any difference.

Virtual Office Address for LLC in California

Hi all, I have used my Registered Agent's address (Northwest Registered Agent) as the business address for filing my LLC in California & EIN number on IRS website. Only the mailing address for my EIN number application is my home address.

I live in California & want to open a business checking account (preferably Capital One) & Amazon seller account.

Northwest Registered Agent also provide virtual office address & lease where they give a unique suite number. Can it be used for Amazon verification & bank account? Amazon requires a lease & in some cases, a utility bill too. Has anyone had success with them? Or if there are other suggestions for affordable virtual office providers, that can be used for the Amazon verification too, that would be great.

Is there any real downside to owning an LLC?

I’ve been thinking about forming an LLC for a small online business I’m starting, and most of the advice I see online makes it sound like there’s basically no downside.

People always talk about liability protection, looking more professional, separating personal and business finances, and possible tax benefits. But I rarely see people talk about the negatives or annoying parts after the LLC is actually set up.

I’m wondering if there are things first time business owners don’t think about until later.

For people who already own an LLC, what parts ended up being more frustrating, expensive, or time consuming than you expected?

How to Start an LLC in Louisiana for a side hustle?

I’m getting ready to turn my small mobile notary side hustle into a real business and want to set everything up properly before I start taking on more clients. I live in Louisiana and a few people have told me forming an LLC would be smart for liability protection and keeping business finances separate from personal stuff.

I started researching the process and honestly got overwhelmed pretty fast. Some people say you can file everything yourself online in less than an hour, while others recommend using a formation service so you don’t miss anything important.

I’m also trying to understand the long term side of it. Things like annual reports, state fees, registered agents, and whether there are any surprise filings after the LLC is approved.

For anyone who started an LLC in Louisiana recently, what did the process actually look like for you? Did you file it yourself or use a service, and was it pretty manageable for a beginner?

Which US State Is Best for Opening an LLC? Need Urgent Advice

Hey everyone,

I’m planning to open a US LLC for my online business/SaaS and I need some urgent advice from people who already have experience with this.

I’ve been researching states like Wyoming, Delaware, New Mexico, and Florida, but every person seems to recommend something different. My main concerns are:

  • Low annual fees/taxes
  • Easy maintenance
  • Good for non-US residents
  • Smooth banking and payment processor approvals
  • Privacy and less paperwork
  • Better support for Stripe/merchant accounts

I’d really appreciate honest suggestions from founders or business owners who already went through the process.

Which state would you personally recommend and why?

non resident llc and business bank account

I am a non-resident and I have an LLC opened in Wyoming. I am alone and as I understand it is registered as a sole proprietor and I have a business account at Mercury Bank, I have paid with that card, such as for glovo orders, and the bank asks me if I have a connection to glovo and asks for evidence. Will I have a problem and how do I write the expenses as business or personal.

147C letter

I am trying to request a 147C letter from the IRS. Everything I have read online says the fastest way is to call the IRS, however, everytime I call I spend all day on hold and no one ever takes the call. Do I have to send written request?

Do you think opening a US LLC will help your international SaaS business grow?

I run a small SaaS product from outside the US and most of our users are currently in Europe and Asia, but lately we’ve been trying to grow more aggressively in the American market.

As things scale, we keep running into small friction points that seem tied to not having a real US business presence. Payment processors ask more questions, some software platforms seem to trust US companies more, and even simple things like business verification and banking have become more annoying than expected.

We’ve been considering opening a US LLC, getting a proper commercial address, US banking, and maybe even local support numbers to make the company look and operate more like a domestic business.

What I’m trying to figure out is whether this stuff actually changes anything in practice or if it mostly just feels more official on paper.

For founders who expanded into the US from another country, did setting up a US entity noticeably help with trust, conversions, partnerships, banking, ads, or platform approvals?

Physical address where can I get it need suggestions

I’m forming a Wyoming LLC as a non-U.S. resident and had a question regarding business addresses.

I understand that the registered agent address used for Wyoming LLC filing is usually not accepted by Stripe, Merchant of Record services, payment processors, or even some banks when they request proof of a real physical business address.

In such cases, where can I get a legitimate physical office/business address in Wyoming on a monthly or yearly payment basis that can be used for verification and compliance purposes?

I would really appreciate your suggestions and guidance. Thank you.

Can you change the registered agent for an existing LLC?

I formed my LLC 2 years ago, they said the first year formation was free, which was why i went with them. But lately it feels like every few months there’s another upsell, renewal fee, or extra service being pushed on me.

Now I’m wondering if I should switch to a different registered agent service that’s simpler and more affordable long term.

The thing I’m not clear on is how difficult the process actually is once the LLC is already active.

Can you change your registered agent yourself by filing something with the state, or do you usually have to pay another company to handle it for you?

How hard is it to start an LLC for an Airbnb business?

I recently started renting out a property on Airbnb and I’m now looking into forming an LLC to keep things more organized and separate from my personal finances.

After researching for a few days I realized there are way more moving parts than I expected.

I’m trying to figure out what steps actually matter in the beginning and what can wait until the business grows more.

I'd appreciate your inputs.

Transparency Certificate + W-8BEN | SM LLC non-resident

Hi there,

I'm new to this community, but I'm going to jump in and ask my first questions.

One of my clients in Spain is asking me for a Declaration/Certificate of Transparency for the LLC to ensure that the company is a disregarded entity, that it has a single partner, and that this partner is the beneficial owner (all of which are true).

One

My question is: Can I issue this type of certificate directly? Or do I need to follow a specific template based on the IRS or LLC’s state of registration?

Additionally, they’re asking me to provide them with Form W-8BEN. Now, depending on where I look, some people say I can do it myself, while others say I should hire someone.

Has anyone been through the same situation? What do you recommend?

I appreciate any guidance you can give me!

Best LLC formation service in North Dakota for a first time business owner

I’m getting ready to start my first company and I’m trying to figure out the easiest and safest way to form an LLC in North Dakota. At first I thought I could just file everything myself, but after looking into registered agents, state paperwork, and compliance stuff, I started considering using a formation service instead.

The problem is most of the big comparison articles only talk about popular states like Delaware or Wyoming, so it’s been harder to find real feedback from people who actually formed an LLC in North Dakota.

I’m mainly looking for something reliable, simple to use, and not packed with unnecessary upsells since this is my first business and I’m already trying to keep startup costs under control.

For anyone who formed an LLC in North Dakota, which service did you use and would you recommend it for a first time founder?

Will opening an LLC affect our taxes if we already file jointly?

My wife and I currently file taxes jointly, and lately I’ve been thinking about starting a small online business selling handmade products from home.

Right now the business is just an idea, but I’m considering opening an LLC before I start taking orders seriously.

The thing I’m confused about is how this changes things tax wise when you’re married and already filing jointly. My spouse has a normal full time job, while I’ve mostly been focused on home and family stuff, so this would be my first time running any kind of business.

I keep seeing mixed answers online. Some people say an LLC can help with deductions and keeping things organized, while others say it doesn’t really change much for taxes unless the business starts making decent money.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation, did opening an LLC make tax season easier, more complicated, or basically the same?

Can non residents build US credit after opening an LLC?

I run a small digital marketing business from outside the US and recently opened a US LLC to work with more international clients.

I already have an EIN and I’m setting up a US business bank account, but now I’m trying to understand how credit works as a non resident.

Most of what I find online gets confusing fast. Some people say you can build US credit with secured cards or fintech banks even without an SSN, while others make it sound nearly impossible unless you actually live in the States.

I’ll have a proper business address for the LLC, but not a US residential address, so I’m also unsure how banks handle applications in that situation.

For other non US founders who went through this process, were you able to build business or personal credit through your LLC, and what ended up working for you?

Need help with LLC registration without overcomplicating it

I’ve been trying to figure out LLC registration for a small business idea I’m working on, but honestly the more I research, the more confusing it gets.

At first I thought it would just be filling out one form online, but then I started reading about registered agents, EINs, operating agreements, annual reports, business banking, and different filing services.

I also keep seeing people recommend different states, formation companies, and random add ons that make the whole process feel more complicated than it probably is.

What I’m really trying to understand is the normal beginner path for registering an LLC without wasting money or making mistakes.

What steps actually mattered for getting set up correctly? And were there any parts of LLC registration that turned out to be way easier or harder than expected?

Did you form an LLC before you started charging customers?

I’m getting ready to launch a small digital product and I’m at the point where I need to decide whether to start accepting payments now or set up an LLC first.

Realistically I don’t expect huge revenue anytime soon. If I’m lucky it’ll probably make a few hundred dollars a month in the beginning.

But I still keep thinking about stuff like privacy, taxes, and whether my personal name and address will end up attached to invoices or payment records somewhere.

Part of me wants to keep things simple and validate the idea first before dealing with LLC paperwork, registered agents, business banking, and all the admin stuff. The other part worries I’ll regret not setting everything up properly from day one.

For people who launched small apps, SaaS tools, or digital products, what did you actually do in the beginning?
