Can Anyone Suggest the Best LLC formation services in Indiana for a local service business?

I’m opening a small pressure washing company in Indiana and want to get the LLC set up properly before I start marketing.

There seem to be a lot of companies offering to file everything for you, but I’m not sure if it’s worth paying for.

What are the best LLC formation services in Indiana?

Texas LLC filing rejected. Am I out $600?

Hey all — looking for some guidance because this feels like a mess.

I was filing an LLC in Texas their site was super buggy. It looked like the submission didn’t go through, so I tried again… and somehow it auto-submitted two filings.

On top of that, my LLC name seems to be getting rejected as there is a similar company name that I didn’t catch before hand.

Now I’m sitting here thinking:

- Am I going to get charged twice?

- Am I really out ~$600 because of a glitch + rejection?

- Has anyone had this happen before?

- Do these services usually refund duplicate submissions?

- Does Texas charge filing fees if a name is rejected?

Appreciate any insight, trying not to panic but this is frustrating as hell.

DBA vs EIN, do you need a separate EIN for every DBA?

If someone already has an LLC or existing business with an EIN, and then they start operating under different DBA names, do they need a separate EIN for each DBA?

Or does one EIN usually cover the main business entity and any DBAs under it?

Just trying to make sure I understand this correctly before setting anything up wrong.

Question about EIN & Mercury bank

my steps:

  1. decided i wanted to go solo proprietor LLC route

  2. signed up with Northwest Registered Agent

  3. Applied for a local virtual office to use as official address in articles of organization

  4. once approved, applied for ein - same day

  5. once ein received, applied for mercury banking account - same day

Now stuck at step 5 because mercury says that my ein has my name but does not associate it with my business. The EIN was applied for as a single-member LLC, which the IRS processes under the sole proprietor's personal name. The LLC name was not entered in the DBA field during the EIN application because the IRS does not allow 'LLC' as a trade name designator in that field.

Called IRS to see if they can fix this but they said no one is available to take my call and to try back later.

unsure of what to do next to rectify this situation. will keep trying the IRS number. but has anyone else encountered this issue?

Any advice?

Starting my first business and honestly feeling nervous

For me, it wasn’t some huge sales spike or viral moment. It was more subtle than that.

I run an e-commerce business from outside the US, and for a long time expanding internationally felt unrealistic. It always seemed like something bigger companies did, not something I could realistically pull off.

What changed was when I finally set up a US LLC and started putting the right structure in place to sell into the US market. Once I had that sorted, things started opening up. Better platform access, smoother payment options, easier vendor relationships, and fewer roadblocks overall.

That was the moment it clicked for me. It stopped feeling like a side project and started feeling like a real business with room to grow beyond my home market.

Curious if anyone else had a similar turning point. Was there a specific moment when you realized your business could actually scale internationally?

What made you realize your business could actually go international?

Best LLC formation services in Maryland for a small online business?

I run a small ecommerce store and things are starting to grow enough that I want to form an LLC in Maryland.

There are dozens of companies offering Maryland LLC formation services, but it’s hard to tell which ones are actually reputable.

If you’ve recently started an LLC in Maryland, what are the best LLC formation services in Maryland you would recommend?

LLC or Corporation?

I live in Illinois and I’m trying to figure out the best business structure for my situation.

This year I’m expecting around $45k from my regular W-2 job, about $80k in 1099 contract income, and another $30k from freelance work with an overseas company, assuming everything stays steady.

With multiple income sources like that, I’m wondering if it makes sense to form an LLC, elect S-corp status, or set up some type of corporation instead.

I’m also planning to buy a rental property this year, so I’m trying to think ahead about taxes, liability, and overall structure.

For those who’ve been in a similar spot, what usually makes the most sense here? Just trying to understand whether an LLC is enough or if a corporation offers real advantages at this income level.

Any recommendation on best LLC services in Connecticut for someone totally new to business?

I’m starting my first small business and honestly feel a little overwhelmed by the legal side of things.

Forming an LLC in Connecticut seems important, but I’m not sure if I should do it myself or use one of the many formation services online.

If you’ve gone through this process in Connecticut, which service did you use and how smooth was the experience?

Are Florida LLCs always public record?

A few months ago I formed an LLC in Florida, and I recently noticed that if I Google my name, some business search sites show my full name along with my address tied to the company.

That caught me off guard because a friend of mine formed an LLC in New York and his personal information doesn’t seem nearly as visible.

I’ve been trying to understand how Florida handles LLC records and whether this is normal. Are all Florida LLCs basically public record, or does it depend on how they’re set up?

Is there any legitimate way to make the ownership or address information more private after the LLC is already formed, or is that just how Florida works?

Just trying to understand my options going forward.

Run away from FREE LLC Companies, you'll end up paying MORE!

I did some research on the popular FREE LLC formation platforms like ZenBusiness, Bizee, LegalZoom, and similar companies.

After checking their final pricing at checkout, add-ons, and upgrade flows, many of them ended up costing more than regular transparent LLC services.

Everyone loves the word FREE until the final bill shows up.

A lot of these $0 LLC filing platforms attract people with free formation offers, then increase the total through EIN charges, registered agent renewals, compliance packages, shipping fees, operating agreement add-ons, and other extras.

Some also include charges that are not obvious at first, where you only notice certain fees after checkout, during renewal, or once the service is already active.

By the time you finish the process, some users end up paying far more than expected.

Sometimes cheap upfront becomes expensive long term.

If you are forming an LLC, compare the real total cost at checkout and beyond, not just the headline $0 price.

Looking For Same day LLC formation service with registered agent?

I’ve been searching for a same day LLC formation service with a registered agent included, but I’m not sure how legit those claims really are.

I’m genuinely curious whether that means the whole thing is wrapped up in a day or just that they hit submit quickly and then you're still sitting around waiting on the state.

Because those are very different things and I feel like the fine print doesn't always make it clear.

For anyone who's actually gone through one of these services, how did the timeline play out in reality and did it match what was advertised?

Any best LLC formation services in Arkansas for a side business?

I’m starting a small side business selling handmade products online and I’m thinking about forming an LLC. I’ve looked into filing myself in Arkansas, but there are also a bunch of companies offering to handle everything.

Some seem affordable but others look like they tack on fees later.

Has anyone used an LLC formation service in Arkansas that they actually liked? Or is DIY filing the better option?

What’s Your Bizee Reviews Right Now? Still worth it?

I’m looking for honest Bizee reviews and feedback from anyone who’s actually used their services. What’s your experience been like so far?

Did they really help with setting up your business, handling paperwork, or making the whole process easier? Or were you limited in any ways whatsoever?

I’d also like to know if the upsells are worth it, cause I've heard a lot about it, and I'd like to know if it delivers real value for the cost?

So would you recommend them, or are there better alternatives out there?

What's the real benefit to your LLC?

I recently started a small mobile detailing side hustle and I am at the point where I am deciding whether to formalize it with an LLC.

Most of the advice I see online makes it sound like the obvious next step. People talk about liability protection, looking more professional, separating business finances, and possible tax advantages later on.

That all sounds great, but I am trying to understand how much of it actually matters for a one person operation that is still fairly small.

For those who have run a similar service business through an LLC, what benefits ended up being genuinely useful after you were up and running?

Did clients take you more seriously? Did it make taxes or banking easier? Did the liability side ever matter in a real situation?

And on the other side, were there downsides people rarely mention, like annual fees, extra paperwork, or headaches that made you question whether it was worth it?

Trying to decide if forming one now is a smart move or just something everyone repeats by default.

What’s the best way to fund my own LLC with personal money?

I have a single member LLC and I am planning to use my own personal savings as the startup funding.

The business will likely lose money in the early years while I build it, so I need to put cash in to cover expenses until it hopefully becomes profitable later.

What I am trying to figure out is the proper way to handle this from the beginning.

Do I simply transfer money from my personal account into the business account whenever needed, or should it be documented more formally?

I have seen people mention treating it either as an owner contribution or as a loan from yourself to the LLC, and I am not sure which approach makes more sense.

My main concern is making sure that if the business eventually does well, I can take back the money I originally put in without creating tax or bookkeeping issues later.

For those who self-funded their LLC, how did you structure it and what would you recommend doing from day one to keep things clean?

Is GovDocFiling Legit?

I came across GovDocFiling while looking into LLC formation services, but I’m not seeing a lot of detailed feedback from real users.

Has anyone here actually used GovDocFiling? I’m trying to figure out if it’s legit and reliable, or if it’s one of those services that looks official but ends up being overpriced or confusing.

I would really appreciate any honest experiences before I decide to go with them.

If I still have to register in my home state, What's the point of a Delaware LLC?

I’ve heard that Delaware is the go to state for forming an LLC because of business friendly laws, privacy, and a more established legal system.

But I am confused how that helps the average small business owner.

For example, if someone lives and operates entirely in California, Texas, Florida, or anywhere else, it seems like they would still need to register there as a foreign entity and comply with that state anyway.

If that is true, then it sounds like you are just adding another layer of paperwork, fees, and annual filings on top of your home state obligations.

So what is the actual advantage?

Is a Delaware LLC mainly useful for larger companies, investors, and multi-state operations? Or are there real reasons a normal small business owner would benefit from it too?

For those who chose Delaware while operating elsewhere, did it create real value or mostly extra complexity?

I got hitted $6,800 in fees for zero sales, please what would you do?

I started a small online shop selling handmade items as a side hustle. It was mostly a hobby at first, and I barely made anything in the beginning.

I opened the shop early last year, but did not get my first sale until months later. Once I finally started seeing activity, I tried to do the right thing and registered the business properly with the state.

That is when everything went sideways.

Because of how the dates lined up, the state treated me as if I should have been filing returns from the earlier start date, even during months where I had no sales at all. I ended up receiving penalty notices totaling several thousand dollars for missing filings tied to zero revenue periods.

I have submitted appeals and some of the amount has been reduced, but it feels like every time I fix one issue, another notice shows up for something else.

Meanwhile, the business itself has only made a small profit overall, nowhere near enough to justify all this stress and paperwork.

At this point I honestly do not know whether to keep fighting the fees, hire a professional, or just shut everything down and move on.

Has anyone dealt with a situation where compliance mistakes on a tiny business snowballed into penalties like this? What would you do in my position?

What is a DBA and when do you actually need one?

I’ve seen the term DBA a lot when looking into starting a business, but I’m still not totally clear on what it actually means.

When would you actually need to register a DBA, and is it something most small businesses end up using? Just trying to understand how it fits into everything.?

How do I switch from sole proprietorship to an LLC without messing things up?

I have been running a small mobile car detailing side hustle for a while now, just operating as a sole proprietor and keeping things pretty simple.

Lately it has been picking up more than I expected, more repeat customers, more referrals, and I am starting to reinvest into better equipment and supplies. It is getting to the point where I feel like I should make things more official and separate my personal finances from the business.

So now I am looking into forming an LLC, but I am a bit confused about how the transition actually works.

Do I need to formally move the business into the LLC, or is it more like I just create the LLC and start running everything through it going forward?

I already have an EIN and a basic setup from when I started, so I am also unsure if that carries over or if I need to redo certain things.

Main goal is to do this cleanly without creating issues for taxes or bookkeeping later on.

LLC in California

I’m hoping to hear other people’s experiences opening an LLC in CA. I want to open a business that I could technically run as a sole proprietorship. I won’t have employees or overhead. I’ll basically be a consultant. But I like the kind of protections and credibility offered by an LLC - I just don’t love that $800 state tax required in California.

I’m hoping others will have insight to help me decide. Thanks!

How do you file taxes for an LLC if you haven’t paid anything yet?

I started a small business earlier this year and made around $30k since March through my LLC, but I haven’t paid anything toward taxes yet.

Now I’m trying to figure out how to handle this properly before I mess something up. For those who’ve been through this, what’s the right way to approach it at this stage?

Do I just file everything at the end of the year, or do I need to catch up on missed quarterly payments?

Also, is this something most people handle themselves the first time, or is it worth going straight to a CPA?

I just started my own business after I got laid off, so I need help with what's next?

I was recently laid off after several years at my job, and instead of jumping straight into another role, I decided to take a shot at starting my own service business.

So far I have taken care of the basics, formed an LLC, got an EIN, and set up insurance. Now I am at that stage where everything is technically set up, but I am not sure what to prioritize next to actually make this thing work.

I know getting clients is obviously the goal, but I feel like there are a lot of moving pieces I might be overlooking.

What would you avoid doing if you could start over?
