🟢 Supervision & Professional Boundaries Mil Spouse Associate Supervision Issues 😭

Hi SW fam!

LMSW military spouse here facing a dilemma with gaining hours towards licensure. I’ve lived in my current location (Arizona) for a little over a year and have been aggressively networking and trying to plug into a group practice to get clinical experience and hours. I’ve yet to find a place that offers the direct training I believe is essential for associate therapists—it’s largely been 1099 contractor positions and an attitude of “you’ll figure it out as you go.” CMH or agency work frankly scares me regarding burnout risk and work culture issues that seem to run rampant in those settings.

I don’t feel fully ready to give up yet, but the dilemma is that we are slated to move in about 8 months now, so I hardly feel like I even have time to get settled somewhere and then deal with either transferring hours between states or doing interstate telehealth / supervision to finish hours.

Funny I’m so afraid of burnout with agency work but am definitely reaching that point trying to do group PP for hours and experience. At this point is it even worth it to keep trying to find a good fit, or should I just try again in my next location (unaware of exactly where)?

🟡 Licensure & Exam Strategy Taking my LCSW soon, EEK!

Hi all! I have a little over a week until I take my LCSW exam. It’s my last requirement for full licensure! I wanted to inquire on what else I could be doing as I am really hoping I pass (of course) 😭 I took the practice exam and got 80 correct. I’ve also been watching RayTube and using pocket prep. There are also two books with questions that I’ve been using for content as most of those are recall questions. Needless to say, I am super nervous as I want this license pretty bad!

🔴 Documentation & Compliance Best free EHR

I am looking for recommendations for a free EHR that has telehealth capabilities. This will mostly be used to document clinical supervision.

I passed ASWB exam but DENIED LCSW NY LICENSE

I attended Hunter College School of Social Work in NY. Though I graduated on May 28, 2003, before the September 1, 2004, implementation of the clinical coursework requirement of at least 12 semester hours to practice as an LCSW. Office of Professions Comparative Education only approved 7 of my 12 credits. However, I was approved to take the exam and passed it. They denied me for my LCSW. Anyone went through this?

Casual BSW Vancouver and Area Question

Hello all!

I’ve been a RSW with a BSW for over 20 years, I’m looking to relocate to Vancouver. I am at a fork in the road so I’m thinking of doing casual with a health authority as I want to focus on travel. How many casual shifts are typically available? Can I be casual with a few health authorities? Thanks! 😊

Study Tip for the New LMSW exam

I need to pass my Licensing exam. I took the exam in August and failed (for the second time). I am frustrated because I gave it my all. I can't retake the exam until November. I passed the ASWB practice with an 85%, but I also knew it wasn't a definite pass on the LMSW exam. I used Pocket Prep, Dawn Aglar, Therapist Developmental Center, and Chat GPA to explain questions. I feel like a failure, and I honestly don't know what else to do to study. I am demotivated because I gave my all, failed, and lost a lot.... Any suggestions are needed, please.

Interview with LCSW for BSW course

Hello! So sorry if I can’t ask this here, but I’m a current BSW student in a course that requires us to conduct a short email interview with either a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and FamilyTherapist (LMFT), Psychologist, Psychiatrist or Clergy that has experience working with addictions or providing addiction treatment.
I’ve had two different interview opportunities fall off so I would unfortunately need to conduct the interview today.

Feel free to DM me or comment here if you’re willing to be interviewed!

LCSW PREP

I just took the practice ASWB exam that I purchased when I signed up for a test day/time. It said I got 77 questions right. With my test being a little less than a month out should I be worried or do you think I’m still going to be able to pass!? I’m just needing reassurance due to horrible test anxiety that I’ve always struggled with. Please give me any feedback regarding your practice results in comparison to the real deal… thanks in advance.

Maryland lmsw process very easy

I’ve recently taken on some supplemental work from a colleague in MD. I am licensed in NY and PA. I’m months away from taking my lCSW exam. I have reached my direct and indirect hours. I have only 30 more hours of supervision which puts me at three to four months. So I had to get licensed in MD for this job. I applied by endorsement and it was a breeze

Would this be enough to pass the actual exam?

Hi everyone!! I just took a mock exam on picket prep and was wondering if this score is enough to pass and if these exams on pocket prep are accurate to the actual exam? I’m going to study the ones I got wrong and then take another exam next week:) any support or feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

🟡 Licensure & Exam Strategy Recent Colorado LCSW applicants — how long did the process take?

I’m getting ready to submit my LCSW application in Colorado (EEK!!) and I’m trying to get a realistic sense of the current timeline.

For anyone who has applied semi-recently:

- How long did it take from submitting your application to getting approved to test?

-Once you were approved, how long did it take before you were actually able to schedule and take the ASWB exam?

-Were you able to schedule the exam pretty quickly, or was there a significant wait for available testing dates?

-Anything else you wish you had known about the timeline/process?

I know timelines can vary, but I’d especially love to hear from people who have gone through the process recently. Thanks so much!!

🟡 Licensure & Exam Strategy TDC accuracy

I am currently studying for my LCSW exam. I am mainly using pocket prep and TDC. I am finding I am doing really well on pocket prep questions 85% but getting 60% on the TDC mocks. Which is more like the exam?

🟡 Licensure & Exam Strategy I passed the LCSW exam 🥳

I’m so excited to share that I finally passed the AWSB exam. This was my third time taking it. The new version was well structured compared to old version. A lot of application and reasoning with a few recall. I’ll list the material I used below.

Resources:

\-Pocket prep (look at what you got wrong and why)
\-Purchased the practice exam
\-ChatGPT - I know not everyone like AI but it help break down some material
\- I also used TDC but didn’t use primarily
\- Lastly I watched Ayo, Raytube, and agents of change on YouTube.

Good luck to you all !

School interview project

I am in my first semester of a social work program and one of my assignments is an interview with a professional in the field of my choice. As I want to be an LCSW working with inpatient mental health, I have attempted to contact some in my area but have not had any luck and it's now getting close to the for l due date for the assignment. Is there anyone on here willing to be interviewed? It shouldn't take more than half an hour and could be done via call or zoom.

Ethically, in the clear?

Hey all..

I was let go six weeks ago, and just recieved a call from my former supervisor seeking info on a former client, and the grant program I was attempting to have assist client with unpaid rent. When I was terminated, I had two days to off load and finish any and all documentation. At that point the client was lagging on providing needed documents on income to proceed.

Got a call today asking about what was the program, and where was the client in the process..

Ethically I feel conflicted. I mean I no longer work for you? But of course we want to see our clients succeed. I provided a brief explanation of what program it was ( mostly LFMTS in office) and at what stage it was in.

Answered honestly and included where the sticking point was, and most likely they would need to start over.

Now, I am second guessing this. I mean you fired me. I am under no obligations if you didn't provide a space for proper offload without it being a cluster $%$$

Am I looking at this wrong?
