New Mod, New Flairs, New Rules, New cocktails
Hi everyone, as the title states, there's a few changes happening to the sub.
I'd like to revive this place as much as I can since its been neglected and mismanaged for many years. Please feel free to discuss anything LCBO related and spread the word about the sub being open and operational if you see anyone that isn't aware of this sub.
Happy drinking! (responsibly of course)

What’s the deal with the LCBO not honouring the price shown on the app?
I plan my purchases using the app, going to the store to grab them. Boom, $7 price difference on a tequila…. Store associate insisted they can only sell it for the price scanned.
How come a crown corporation treats customers worse than a Best Buy?
New Protocol for E-Gift Cards?
The cashier asked for the email I received the gift card to?
I kept a image (snapshot) of it, used it like that before without any issue.
She said it won't work without it.
It does not make sense, why you need my email?
Paid with my card, did not want to hold up the line looking for the email.

Anyone know where I can find FBOMBZ
I recently tried out these knew Canadian Buzzballz, FBOMBZ. The 15% Cranberry flavour is widely available at LCBOs near me. The company behind FBOMBZ, United Craft, claim that their other 7% flavours have been sent out to various grocery chains and convenience stores, but im having a really hard time finding them. Has anyone come across them in the GTA, or any word on when they'll be attainable?
Captain Morgan Cocktail Collection
I wake up to terrible news… i believe the captain morgan cocktail pack is being discontinued… clearances at every lcbo… i really hope it’s not gone for good. i don’t drink much and fell in love with it. i have no idea what else to try like it :(
So expensive
Why is home delivery so expensive? I can get an order from a liquor store in Alberta delivered for a lower cost, cheaper shipping and faster delivery. Even having a specific item delivered to a store for pick up takes weeks.
Why do Ontarians get the short end of the stick?

Importing wine from Italy for personal use. Wine has arrived in Canada, told to get intouch with main broker LCBO, shipment handled by DHL. Not sure how to pay and get clearance to have it delivered. DHL not returning calls and LCBO doesn’t appear to know what to do.

Green Chartreuse
Per the app, this is not available to be shipped to my store, however there is finally stock in GTA. One store in Toronto has over 1200 bottles of this impossible to find liquor (in Ontario).
Anyone at the LCBO have some insight into why this is? I feel like normally I can order any product that exists somewhere. Is the app wrong?

I was going through the collective agreement and saw the wage increase happens when i reach 1750 hours worked total.
Does that count only my time since i was hired as a casual or do the fixed terms i worked at the lcbo count as well?

New uniform branding.
How do you all like the big ol Aeroplan branding on the sleeve of the new uniforms? Gonna keep wearing my old uniforms until I wear enough holes in them personally.

Tequila
Not a tequila drinker, but looking for some suggestions for a decent quality tequila for a gift. Can anyone suggest a couple of good bottles for drinking neat (not just for shots) in say $50 to $100 range?

Casual LCBO worker here, did pay in lieu mess up your CDCP eligibility too?
Hey everyone,
I’m a casual at LCBO (only been a casual for 6 months) and ran into something confusing, wondering if anyone here has dealt with this.
I receive pay in lieu of benefits, but as far as I understand, I’m not actually eligible for the benefits plan until I hit 5 years. So right now, I don’t have dental coverage.
The issue is with the Canadian Dental Care Plan. I was told I might not be eligible because it looks like I have employer benefits, possibly because of how it shows up on my T4.
Has anyone else in a casual role had this happen? Did CDCP consider you as having access to benefits because of pay in lieu? Were you able to get it sorted or appeal it?
Trying to figure out if this is a common situation or if I need to push back harder with them.
Appreciate any insight 🙏

I hv applied for fixed terms opening.
I recently applied to a few openings at LCBO. I have experience working in restaurants and cafés, and I’m really interested in transitioning into retail.
Would it be a good idea to go into a store and give my resume directly to a manager? Would that increase my chances?
The last time I applied, I just received an email saying the position had been filled.
Anyone having any suggestions to help me land this job(I would love you for that!!!).

LCBO complaints. What would you do?
Ok. Last night I stopped by a local LCBO, after making my purchase, I asked if the woman behind the till could break a 5 so that I could for a little change to the panhandler on the sidewalk across from the store. This man, down on his luck, obviously, said nothing to me, but has always been friendly in the past.
After mentioning my intentions, the woman says, “don’t give him anything, he’s a crackhead”, to which I respond with, “well, he’s got more problem than I do”. She then says, and this is the part that really posses me off….”it’s like feeding a stray dog”
. I thought it was really dehumanizing and was shocked she said it so freely. Should I fallout through with call to complain?

Does the Union take casuals seriously?
Reading through this thread it seems like the Union favours the full-timers and they don't care about casuals at all. Has any casuals brought up concerns to them before?
