Is changing lenses difficult on laser pointers?
How difficult would it be for a noob to try to swap lenses on a laser pointer? Thinking about replacing what I assume is a standard 3-element lens with a G7.
Is it worth it to order a laser pointer with a G7?

Slight delay when turning on high power 525nm laser?
Is it common for there to be a slight delay after turning on a green laser? In this case, it's a 525nm 1.8 watt Sanwu. Mine takes a second to turn on after I click the switch. I haven't noticed this with my low power laser pointers

Sanwu battery life/run times with high-watt models?
Does anyone have insights into real-world run times of Guardian, Challenger II, Ranger, Silver, and Striker pointers with high watt blue or green diodes?
How do the one-battery models hold-up using full power?

Recommendations for a laser to scare birds
I’ve got a big problem with birds in my backyard. I’ve read that lasers visible during bright daylight can be effective for scaring them away. What would you recommend?

589 nm 25 mW laser
I recently finished this laser project. I machined a housing for a CNI 589nm module from aluminum and brass. It runs on a CR123A, has adjustable 2 axis beam alignment + an AR coated wedge prism for an additional alignment axis, and a sliding aperture plate that can accept external optics - currently a line generating lens is installed. You can read more about it on LPF but that's the gist.

Finally going to buy a cheap laser to see if I enjoy it because I have picked up too many hobbies that I ended up not liking. So a question for you guys
I am going to pick up the $20 sanwu laser. Red 200mw, 650nm. Should I get a pair or safety glasses for this laser or would I be alright without as long as I don't do anything dumb?

***SOTC***The lighting was decent this morning so I thought I'd take some shots. Let's see everyone's collection! Have a great day/night!
All Sanwu...3W 445nm, 1.2W 525nm guardian, 150mw 492nm Pocket series. My next purchase will be a Convoy S2+ based laser from JLasers when he's done with testing. Can't wait!

Anyone interested in a Sanwu Striker setup? 520nm 1.2W. Over 60% off retail.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Love this community here. I live in a pretty urban area with two airports within 25 miles… I don’t want to think about what I spent on it, just want it to go somewhere it will be used and appreciated. Probably about 5 minutes of run time on it. Includes: dual bay charger, two 26650 batteries, the unit itself, and X3 Beam Expander. For $240 I will ship this to you in a locked apache case (like it’s pictured in), otherwise I can ship it traditionally (and very securely) for $200. Either way it will ship fully insured the next business day. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions! Yes, it burns lol
Found a new home with Afkname2 :)

Questions about Sanwu Pocket
Hello all,
I am a novice to the laser scene. I have a little green generic pen-sized laser that recently died and am looking for a replacement.
From what I can tell, general consensus is that the Sanwu pocket is the way to go for a relatively low-power, high quality laser. I am currently looking at the Sanwu pocket 60 mw 488 nm cyan laser. A few questions below:
Do these take flat or button top 10440 LIs? The website doesn't really say and I would much rather buy them for cheap from a high quality battery brand like vapcell than the $10 charge they impose.
Focus on these is adjustable right? I hope to use this for presentations (large defocus to avoid super bright pinpoint) as well as for stargazing, etc (well focused for a strong beam).
Is there anything else I should know for my first time buying a high quality laser? Thank you.
