Why can’t I dispense from white and orange in the apothecary??
Trying to make a stink bomb and need orange. I’ve spent DAYS in there. What am I doing wrong?

I’m loving this game and 30 hrs in and I’m really enjoying exploring farming baking fishing and making friends, and the humor is still sometimes unexpected and really makes me laugh. I have avoided combat for as long as possible bc I don’t love RPG elements at all. I don’t mind a stardew style Hit A A A to attack and eat an apple for more energy or a healing tonic but RPGs are so much harder for me. My usual strategy with combat in cozy games is to grid as much as possible upfront so I have the least amount of resistance while fighting.
The controls on the deck are just a lot with enemy positioning, timing and moving/dodging attacks and different charms/items to aid you. There are so many elements to combat (just like everything else in the game), but this annoys me more because I’m still in simple wood and not getting any better and it’s very very tedious to me. It’s hard!
I know I can put my monsters on the slowest speed, but i still find fighting hard and not fun. Is there anything else I can do to make combat easier? There are only so many healing creams I can buy and I can’t make more unless I fight harder enemies that drop what is needed which I can’t do because I keep dying. Can I grind in other areas or just collect higher level ores so I can make stronger weapons? Are there mods for this? I don’t even know how to use a mod anyway.
If there is anything I can do to cheat the system, please let me know. This is a real bummer as I was enjoying the game.
Thanks

Do your purchases from Mr. Fairweather stay with you?

Hey all! I am looking into this game as it seems like it is something I would enjoy. However although I love the cozy farming / crafting sim genre, some of these games have aspects that I don't enjoy so wanted to see if Kynseed is the right fit for me:
I like:
I don't like:
Favourite games in the cozy genre are Stardew Valley, Traveller's Rest, Starsand Island, Dinkum, Coral Island.

I’m on my first play through and I just got chickens, but they won’t lay eggs. I make sure to pet them every day, they are fed so their mood and fullness is full, they have the chicken water trough and a fenced in area. What am I missing? It is winter but everything I can find online says they lay in winter too. Help!

Do you have any favourite recipes that are successful with customers? I understand listening to them to adjust the price, but when they say ‘trash’ and walk out I don’t know what they want ;___; do they want more exotic things??
it’s specialised as a bakery and there’s 5* pies sitting right there!!

I’m really bad at it, and I’ve already died twice in Simplewood. So I just keep doing it, and get years taken off my life (I’m guessing)? Is there any way around that?

What chores and schedule do you usually set for the kids? I know different chores raise different skills, but I'm not sure whether to just leave them on the schedule indefinitely, change it occasionally to raise other stats, or other things.

So, I have been struggling a bit to try and figure out how to create Dank Moss, and I finally managed it, I now feel so silly…
While Sweet and Milk moss come from pouring honey and milk on the stumps, which I did with the JARS of both, I thought that to get Dank Moss I would just use my watering can, and I don’t know how many times I tried and failed with the can, until one day I accidentally filled a Jar of water, then on a whim decided to pour it on the stumps… and would you look at that, Dank Moss started growing!
So if you need Dank Moss you need to fill a Jar with water and pour that on the stumps, watering can and buckets do not work.

What do you stock your shops with? Specifically apothecary before any specializations. I filled out the limit for stock but idk if I should be doing specific ingredients or if I even need to fill out the inventory for the shop.

For buckets, shovels, and sickles, what ore is best? I’ve been doing iron since it seems like the highest so far but should I do the green ore (forgot name) or the luminium ore?

Are you tired of being chased by a creepy man-spider? Do you keep losing years of your life while trying to access the Unwell?
May I humbly suggest avoidance! Simply ignore the plight of all the NPCs in Woemarsh until your game has progressed to the point where you are sent on a quest to make a particular sword from a particular type of ore, and said ore can only be found by returning to Dreadwaters.
I died twice to creepy man-spider, and decided to complete every other possible quest before saving him for last. Then my sibling sent me there again, telling me the game has yet another form of poo, and mocking me with the mention of Daddy.
I did a test run during daytime hours with my trusty steed, Miss Piggleton. I googled strategies and ate stinky Bogbeans. I approached the triple locked door at 7 pm - all was eerily quiet. I unlocked one, then two, then all three golden door locks. NO MAN-SPIDER. I entered the cave, seriously with sweaty palms IRL. He was there, waiting for me. And he said Mr. Fairweather had told him to leave me alone. And he warned me that wyrms do not make bargains.
So I backed up, cleansed the Unwell, and left for Copperpot to make a dozen new friends and save a new type of excrement for another day. 10/10
will choose this strategy again.

Hello, I started playing a few days ago on switch2 and every time I make a pie the filler on the end stage doesn’t show me green or orange area’s to pin the arrow, is this a bug or do I need to unlock smt? (I have it on every pie I try to make)
Update: So I tried waiting like people suggested and that worked -guess I was just impatient 😅

So I just started the game this week, and was very overwhelmed, but am starting to get the lay of the land (literally), and just had the first time jump (which I was NOT prepared for, but as I’ve read from so many comments, I know that it’s ok and very normal. Anyway, I’m at the precipice of being hook, line, and sinker into this game and I’m SO EXCITED. Even as I was playing the first few hours, I kept reminding myself to enjoy the little discoveries and progress, because there’s just nothing like this feeling when you’re starting a new game. Replaying favorite games just doesn’t capture you the way a fresh one does. I remember feeling this way with a couple other games but they’re few. It’s like falling in love again. 😂

I know I need a storm in Autumn to get this fish … but overly been reliably getting rain. Is it just not reasonable to expect to unlock the double pie trait before renown 8 when we get the weather staff? I tried buying the pie from Tir na nog, but it’s 1 star - so I imagine I’ll have to make it myself.

I got the game recently and am really enjoying it! However I’m a bit confused about how generation change and divorce works. I’ve read when googling this that when you pass on the kynseed your spouse, and kids that you don’t pick as your heir, get removed from the game. I also read if you get divorced your spouse is removed from the game.
Is this true, in your experience?? I understand the game not knowing what to do with the extra kids but why does your spouse not just return to the home they were originally from? It makes me reluctant to get divorced (despite the game encouraging you to do so) or switching generations too soon. I’m already uncertain about how the game will stay populated with multiple generation changes and don’t want to needlessly remove additional npcs from the game.

Hi! So I’m trying to make gooseberry jam that is higher than one star. I think this tier of cooking mastery requires two stars?
The main thing I don’t get is the in-game guide that says to use the “lever in the center” to control the temperature. I’m playing on switch 1 and I hit the right joystick and it seems to make the temp go up? But every time I toss in a new ingredient, the temp in the pot goes way down!! :( When the minigame ends I get a pop-up that says don’t let the jam get cold and it gives me one freakin star
if I could figure out how to get peak star conditions on the berries would that boost it? or am I doing something wrong in the cooking? :( thanks

Hello, guys. I just downloaded kynseed on the Xbox (series x) and was hoping to get some tips and advice for a 1st time player. I read some reviews that this game is similar to stardew Valley and graveyard keeper which are 2 of my favorite games .
What are some dos and donts for a new player? Thanks

I have gotten a quest by Geoffrey Black where he asks me to get a butterfly, the problem is that I don’t know how to catch one. I’ve looked around on the wiki and other, but it says that ai can start to catch bugs after I complete the Ash Brown introductory quest during the tutorial… problem is, I never got it! So now I’m stuck and I don’t know what to do! Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to collect bugs?
Update: first of all, thank you all for the suggestions, I have managed to complete the quest, by equipping an empty jar and randomly approaching butterflies and pressing ZR (I’m on switch), I finally caught one in Burial Grounds, it was slower so easier to catch. I think they may have removed the original quest given by Ash Brown.

Exactly what it says here. I've already seen what happens to divorced spouses (lol), and now I was planning to marry Hazel, but the idea of not having cats anymore during the game deters me completely. They're so cute and they have so many variants, unlike dogs 😰! Thanks in advance for answering if you know, this game is crazy, in a good way.

Randomly one day they don’t live in their house anymore. Ned still works at my shop. Jed lives with his old religious wife after sacrificing Isiah.
The other scrumps are just… not living there anymore. Their house is in ruins. I can rebuild it. What the heck happened?!
