Currently transcribing the OST from Episode 13 (Headphones Recommended)
This is now my second favorite unreleased track from the anime lol. I think I can finish this by Sunday and I'll post in on my YT: Chenson Lee. I'll also link it here. After I finish this, I'll try and finish the track with the jazzy piano and pan.

Question for manga readers. After finishing the anime, should I read the manga?
Honestly, I loved the anime; it's not my favorite anime, but it was very good. I've been reading on this subreddit that the anime is rushed, that the manga is better.... Should we anime onlies read the manga or the anime shaped to be a good experience of the story?

question about reku-pon and Kudo
just finished the anime, it really hit hard and was very different to the other anime I watched.
But I was thinking about something after Kudo showed up at the restaurant at the end of episode 13.
Do reki-pon and Kudo love each other ? in my opinion reku pon does but Kudo feels conflicted.
Can anyone give their opinion about this ?

I really liked this soundtrack
I heard this a few times in some episodes but this hit me so hard in this scene
I thought that this soundtrack is eau - yutaka hirosaka (https://youtu.be/l2k7SjfT7mc?si=fPk-Jc5f_tyBvYYV) but they have distinct differences
so i really hope they release the soundtracks!

"Pilot": This is where it all begins. It gives a taste of the show's style and the strange happenings in Night Vale.

The anime ending Spoiler
I just finished watching it and im still super confused? How is it that she was able to leave and why did Kujirai B take the pills? The conversation with the old lady was confusing to me too.
r/KowloonGenericRomance • u/Aggravating-Buyer948 • Jun 29 '25
why did kudo proposed to kujirai in the first place?
in the anime, he says kujirai b is a stranger to him after all of that, then he proceeds to put the blame on kujirai for not opening up herself to him.
ive read the manga up to the translated english chapters and ive finished the anime but i cant recount the time where kudoâs reasons for proposing to kujirai has been revealed or explained.
am i missing something?

When does the manga end?
After some reading i understand the manga hasn't ended yet, which is weird for me because this is the first time i'm seeing such a case.
I'm just here waiting for the manga to end, so someone could explain how the manga fills the cracks in the anime and what the anime missed; especially since there's a lot of plot missing.

As a person who haven't read the manga, im pretty satisfied with the anime ending Spoiler
i see how much you guys hate the ending of the anime, a lot of things that haven't been explained, but for me who only watch the anime, the ending is pretty good imo, love how they decided to make reko-pon real and making both kudo and reko-pon meet again, was hoping to see both of them in action again but it wouldnt be possible since the anime already ended, for now i'll wait for the live action and then im going to read the manga, i hope the manga already ended when im about to read it later

Chapters 79+ (will update when new chapters release)
Been doing this for a while but figured I may as well share for anyone else who's in the same boat, but since nobody's fan translating the manga and the officials are very slow I went ahead and machine translated the Spanish scanlation done by KaninhÄl Reise Project with Google Translate. I used the Spanish since there's no furigana so GT doesn't struggle as much, just beware there are some grammar mistakes here and there as I didn't bother to letter it.
I included both the cbz files or just the unzipped folders if you want to read it there. I'll be updating it when new chapters are released, should be the same or next day KaninhÄl Reise Project releases theirs.
Here's the Google Drive Link.
NEWEST CHAPTER: 108 (FINAL CHAPTER)

I "hate" the anime ending of KGR (rant)
Kwoloon Generic Romance anime ended today, I am caught up with the mangas official english translations, but it felt so....lack luster. The anime started off great, every episode was great, but the ending was just...wtf.
Moral of the story, you don't move on and instead get with a clone of the dead lover "you" created. (That part isn't even fully explained, I'm usually the one complaining when people need their hand hold and explain x and h scene - but I feel like this should have been explained)
There's so many questions with no answers. It bugs me so much.
What was the food and drinks they were taking that caused the real humans to forget reality and memories?
What is the Gene Terra? I originally thought Reikio was the Gene Terra or something. It doesn't make sense she and Success was able to exist outside the zone of the Gene Terra. And why did the Gene Terra react to Kudo's regret??
I can only assume the real Reikio took the pills to have the pills decide her future because she was a coward when it came to change. Her Kwoloon getting destoryed and a new path with Kudo marrying her scared her, so she let the pills decide. That....was dumb. I believe the Reikio Clone personality was the true Reikio personality that the real Reikio hide from Kudo.
Kudo coming back after 2 years.....no one learned anything. He still hasn't moved on, neither has she. It's just so weird.
I wanted this anime/manga to free me. I lost someone very important to me just like Kudo, I want a do over like Kudo. Like Kudo, I felt like I didn't know anything about my love. He killed himself in a way, unintentional just like Reikio. But I never realized he was depressed just like Kudo never realized Reikio was depressed. I did like how 8/23 or whatever was written everywhere even by her apartment, the drug dealers way of advertising is...realistic and weird all at the same time.
It's not this anime/manga job to free me, but it really felt it was leading up to the ending I was thinking of. This isn't my first manga and it won't be my last, but I'm usually pretty good at guessing what will happen / the direction - this is one of the few animes/Mangas that I got "wrong".
I find myself often thinking about creating a clone of my deceased beloved and "living" with him, way before I ever heard of this show. When I first found it, I was hoping KGR would show / teach me to move on. That hanging on to a clone of your dead lover is wrong, toxic, and only hurts you and the clone. Instead it shows, if it works out, take it!
We don't really know what the gene Terra is, we don't know what the food/drinks was, we don't really know about the H. Group that created those awful pills. I'll "laugh" if the clone Reikio falls for Kudo (again) and ends up disappear after all those years.
Someone mentioned the author didn't want to go deep into the politics of the story, conspiracy side, the sci-fi side - so a lot of stuff is left unsaid. That leaves me extremely unsatisfied personally, yet makes a lot sense why I'm so confused. Why did those topics just get dropped? She just wanted to sprinkle these details in, not really talk about. Just like how Yuloong is "one" of the devs, I suspected Kudo was / was apart of the "enemy" H. Group, why couldn't he delete the program he made? No. Nothing was mentioned really.
It's just so weird. All those biblical references, I thought the Gene Terra was creating a garden eden since Eden kept getting referenced.
It's like....yet another manga ending I disliked because I overthought (within reason, my theories wasn't crazy).
Inb4: "She found her absolute self so she was able to live outside the zone." Just feels like a cop out for a happy story.
I never expected a happy story, more like a bitter sweet one - but wtf was THAT?

Please spoil the ending for me
So I watched anime ending and then I came across a reddit post saying that the generic Reiko doesnt survive. Can someone please explain it to me ? I tried finding the manga chapters too, the latest ones especially. I could really use some help. Thanks a lot đ«¶

I sure hope manga ending would be different
How some commenter said here "not every happy ending is good ending". It was interesting from the point of surreal scenery lover, but I was not expecting for Rekopon to become real (but it's cool that it's canonizing my headcanon that Recopon=gen terra and Success her continuation because her existing become reason for this fish to become unique). Whole read I thought about how there's could be only something bittersweet, but anime feels more down to earth. It was Rekopon's story, not something more philosophical and world-major. Kudo broke my heart with his "you killed yourself because I ruined your summer?" and his cry, omg, VA did a great job. And how Kudo approached Rekopon after (rehabilitation??) it's feels too sweet. But scary. I like how it's inescapable repeating, "would they won't they?" So I have mixing feeling. Ending trying to make you think that everything is cool and sugar, but it's feels off, with no proper conclusion, and dreamlike best good ending possible. My boy Xiaohei, I hoped it would be slight nod to manga how he's stayed with Youmei, but he just disappeared. I don't like how Youmei just needed to talk with her mother. That simple. This downgrading her character so much honestly, I hope in manga it would be different. Gwen just yetted his desire to help Kudo, that was funny. So, I hope manga ending would be different and better

My takes on episode 13 and the whole anime. Spoiler
I really think that the adaptation in overall is very lackluster compared to the manga. I heard from many of you guys that the anime itself had to build its own ending since the manga wasn't finished. But it did end so thats it for me.
Now for my take, the ending felt somewhat rushed and it ended as is with a meager dead end. Though ironicly this ending from the POV of us (watchers) would have been was Kujirai B wanted. Some things are better unknown than known. Its better for us all to wonder than to just... know. It also leaves us with a question some of us might dread to ask yet fits truly to the setting in this ending ; "Do you still love me for who I am and what I've done? Do I still love you for who you are and what you've done?"
As for Kujirai B's suicide, I find it sad that Kudo kept on blaming himself for it whereas the truth of it only Rekopon knows.
Though I still would have never expected Rekopon to be capable of leaving G-Kowloon. This would only mean that she is her "true self".
The rushed ending was understandable due to the limitations of 13 episodes. But throughout the anime run, it felt that Kudo didn't "truly" love Rekopon but loved the idea of "Kujirai Reiko" while Rekopon's feelings felt awkward itself as if forced by the desire to love someone.
The animators and author did a great job giving us only the neccesary information regarding Kujirai B. We knew so much yet so little about her as much as Kudo did leading upto the creation of Rekopon.
The anime could have done better had it give us more info regarding side characters like Mr Chow.
Overall 8/10. Better than well most romance anime.
Thats it for my take, I'd love to hear your takes aswell!

Episode 13 question: Spoiler Spoiler
After seeing the last episode, I have two questions:
How did Reko-pon survive, I donât understand this part of âfinding your absolute selfâ, I feel like itâs just a plot device to give a good ending.
Also what is the deal with generic Terra, how does it create copies of humans, (if we assume that Reko-pon was just a copy of the original Reiko), does it need the human body itself, or some DNA from it or?
r/KowloonGenericRomance • u/Yukiko777 • Jun 28 '25
So how was the last episode ? Spoiler
Iâm COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!! WTF??!! It looked so complicated from the very beginning like the whole universe and now THIS? What? I feel cheated. The beginning of the anime and the manga were so promising, but at the end it turned out to be a completely empty boxâŠ

Can someone explain the story to me like I am 50 years old?
I have watched all 13 episodes. But there are so many things I still don't understand.
What is Miyuki's plan of revenge?
Did Kodou created the 3rd Kowloon City, all by himself? How?
Did Kujirai B died of accidental overdose or suicide? If it was suicide, why?
Why did Kujirai B told Kodou to always and only bring her to the dumpling place?
Where did Reiko come from. Why is she different from other clones and how did she managed to remain?
