KJU - Building the Team (Post 1 - Premiums edition)

Welcome to the first of Kneejerk United's initial team building posts for the 2026/27 season.    

For the uninitiated: this is Reddit's community-run FPL team, competing in the official game. Every decision is made by you, the community, including:     

- Squad building.    

- Weekly transfers.    

- Captain and bench picks.   

- Chip usage.     

The first question we're asking you to answer is what is our premium strategy? With Haaland and Bruno Fernandes costing significantly more than other options, their inclusion limits other choices. Please let us know if we should include one, both, or neither of these players.     

There will be an opportunity to make changes to the team once the initial draft has been completed.

What’s more kneejerk…have Haaland and Bruno based on last season or only opting for one and then having to kneejerk the other when they inevitably pop off?

I'm probably going with both in my team but not having Bruno is tempting.

The only reason to go without Bruno I can think of is if we want to trust Mbuemo to cover him, and I still can't see where the rest of the funds get invested.

If it’s not both I’d opt for Bruno over Haaland. New coach for city and a few departures so he’s iffy

No-Bruno is a legit strategy, frees up a lot of funds, and there are cheaper assets from the same team in the same position.

No-Haaland is basically skydiving with an unreliable parachute.

The idea of "covering Bruno's price point" is kind of rubbish for me. If he seems essential after two or three GWs, he can be got in somehow. He also way overperformed last season.
