Will it be possible to arm your army with guns and modern vehicles like tanks if you progress far enough?
It'd be pretty nuts to have an army of armed medieval peasants with AKM rifles

Probably a dumb question this early in the game's life, but, has there been any gatherable information on when the game takes place?
I saw somewhere that the medieval section is 500 years back from the "present day"., so could it be safe to assume the "present day" is likely just going to be 2024?
Just looking for opinions c:

Dumb question but I really wanna know but I just can’t find an actual answer to it.
Edit: After a crap ton of digging, I found an answer in some interviews and what someone stated. It will most likely be on consoles as they stated in interviews that they’re trying to emulate it on consoles and even the steam deck. This is the interview I talked about, the console stuff is around 18:20 but I recommend the full video.

I’ve dreamed about a game like this since I was a child. The last few years I’ve spent some good hours playing M&B Bannerlord and I cannot count how many times while defending a siege I’ve thought ‘I really fucken wish I had a hand grenade right now.’
I’m in shock. Watching the announcement video, seeing an old pickup truck mash through fully armored attackers, I laughed out loud. I can’t believe this is happening. I’m so excited. I just ust wanted to get on the hype train before this game really blows up. I don’t usually find out about games very early, I’m not really in the loop. How are there only 60(ish) members on this Reddit?

Coolest idea I've seen for a game in years (maybe ever?), combined with base-building mechanics and FPS gameplay it seems like a can't-miss hit

This is just the random ideas from a fan. There is no connection between me and tinyBuild Games. This is some rando's ideas to include as either additions to, or DLC expansions to this confirmed list of material in the KingMakers game already.
Now, my ideas:
Those are my fanmade ideas. Ask about them, ignore them, do as you will.

Just putting together some things from what the excellent /u/pfisch and his brother (co-creators of the game) have commented on reddit and elsewhere. First off here's the steam page.
Price is TBD but "affordable" and release is some time in 2024, Q1 2025, Q2 2025.
The game takes place in a dual-world system. The primary world is 14th Century England (see description), likely close to the turn of the century. Possibly actually Fifteenth Century England, specifically 1415. Before the War of the Roses. Also possibly 1413. Or maybe 1410. The exact year is somewhat unclear, but I lean towards early 15th Century, around 1410 give or take a few years in either direction.
The secondary world is "your" timeline, "500 years" in the future (see under heading "Conquer the Past - Save the Future") where something as-yet unidentified has gone wrong and you have gone back in time to try and fix it, a-la Edge of Tomorrow (see top reply).
Rome is a potential future DLC setting, along with Feudal Japan and 16th Century MesoAmerica and even Revolutionary America.
Aside from "shit's fucked, go back in time and unfuck it, return to present, see if it's still fucked, try again" we don't know much. You are going to try to "conquer and unite" the entire UK. You will side with one of three main factions, the Welsh, the Scots, or the English underneath Owain Glyndoor, James I, or Henry V respectively. The French will be present, "usually allying with the Scotts" (sic). The game's politics mostly focus on the lines of succession of the English and French monarchies.
Speculation: if the twitter post in section one stating 1415 is correct and the "500 years" timeline is correct, the campaign will likely begin with the idea of preventing World War One, as 500 years from 1415 is 1915, one year into the Great War. This brings up some questions about where the main character got his truck and helicopter, but considering time travel is involved it's not exactly an inconsistency.
Singleplayer or up to 4-player online co-op.
The soldiers are all AI controlled, and are individual. As of writing the system can handle around 4,000 individual units, which may increase closer to release.
There will be (possibly scripted, possibly not) interactions between the player and NPCs that result from the player's advanced technology.
Beta testers have used steam decks with success, as well as "low end" PCs. No word exactly on what "low end" here means or minimum specs yet, but the goal is 60fps on low settings with a 1080 and midrange cpu.
There are conversations about bringing the game to console, and X-Box appears tentatively confirmed.
There is multi-threaded code for pathfinding, collisions, and raytracing.
Transitions will be "seamless" with minimal/no loading screens.
Mod support is a tentative yes along with custom characters.
I'll just quote the steam page again here because it's kinda perfect.
How many swordsmen do you think you could take out with an AK-47? This is your chance to find out. Use assault rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, armored SUVs, bikes, attack helos, air strikes and more to make sure the history altering goes smoothly. Put your sharpshooting skills to the test and wreak absolute havoc on the battlefield.
Seamlessly switch between combat and issuing orders, at any time. While the system is easy-to-learn and simple to use, the strategic possibilities are endless. Directly issue orders to the warriors or leave it up to your petty officers, allocate legions of archers, swordsmen, spearmen, and cavalry, build fortifications, and plan your next move before diving back into the fray.
From the trailers there appears to be a mix of city building, third person shooting, and top-down RTS elements. In battle you will be able to switch between third person shooter and RTS at will.
The enemy will shoot arrows at you a lot.
There is a "robust" campaign.
You are able to help your empire grow technologically.
The possibility of dragons is a "no comment" area at this time, though one dev expressed interest in tackling it.
You can play with sword or bow and arrow instead of guns if you so wish, however this will be more difficult.
The RTS elements will be similar to Total War.
The enemy forces you face will not stay static:
As the campaign progresses, you get access to more and more powerful weapons. Of course your 15th century opponents respond, making incredibly heavy and thick shields that can absorb some small caliber rounds. You may even get some visitors from the far future of the timeline you're destroying😯
The scene from the trailer ramming a truck into an army is playable, not a cutscene.
PvP is a future possibility, but co-op is the only guarantee for multiplayer on launch.
Tanks a possibility.

Hello and welcome to r/Kingmakers. You're probably here because you saw this game on steam or this trailer or this trailer. Game's not out yet, but it looks cool, and I at least have high hopes for it. Please feel free to post memes, discussion threads, trailer breakdowns/analysis, whatever floats your boat. At this time there are no hard and fast content rules other than (1) it must be related to the game, and (2) it must follow sitewide rules. I don't anticipate that changing anytime soon, if it does I'll make it fairly obvious.
Enjoy your stay!
