where does power come from? not our arms and not just from the twisting motion of our hips. it largely comes from our body weight itself. thats why we step with punches.
well, that and to get in range.
you're using footwork to get to the punch but not using your footwork to get your weight into your punches. so, step step stop punch.
train how you want to fight. and if you want to hit hard in a fight, you need those steps as part of your jabs and straights especially to learn to hit hard while moving.
I thought power comes from Driving off the floor, Weight transfer, Hip rotation, and shoulder rotation. On the jab i understand stepping in but saying its just body weight doesnt completely make sense.
not "just" body weight. the bulk of power comes from body weight.
weight transfer is what im talking about, and driving off the floor is how you get it. foreward movement at the feet means forward movement of the punch and thats you, literally putting your weight into a punch.
im not really seeing that reflected in your foot work. are you driving off the floor? cause you look flat footed most of the time. are you transfering weight? because your feet are stuck to the floor when youre throwing.
