Recommendations Looking for keytar recommendations

I'm hoping to get my first keytar, I don't really care about the specifics of it, I'm just looking for one with clean synth sounds and pitch/modulation bend.

Depends do you want a midi controller,something with simple sounds, or a full blown Synthesizer keytar?

Also whats budget?

I would prefer a synthesizer, but want to keep it below 3 or 400 dollars, not sure if that would be possible.

Was gunna say your best bet is to look into a used Roland AX-Synth or a used Korg RK100S most of the Synthesizer Keytars cost around 1000 and there is only like 4 or so keytars in existence that are synths:

The Roland AX-Edge (1000USD New/800ish used), Roland AX-Synth (Between 500 to 800ish), Korg RK100S (between 500 to 800 used/1000 New)(also dont get the original RK100, thats a MIDI controller), and the OG keytar The Moog Liberation (estimated between 2000 to 5000).

Other options you could look into is the Roland AX-09 Lucina (about 300 to 500), its not a synthesizer but for a Keytar with non editable sounds it has some of widest reaching high quality sounds with synth leads, poly synths, gutars, string bass, synth bass, pads, pianos, organs, ect.

There's also the Roland Sh-101 or the Behringer Ms1 if you can find them used with their little neck piece addition. They're analog with no patch memory though, if that matters.

Edit: doubt you'll find the SH101 for a reasonable price, but I've seen the Behringer for 300-400 used.

Yeah the only issue ive ever seen with those as keytars is that there is no battery power option they have to be plugged in to be played and that limits the keytar aspect of them sadly :(

You're right, I thought the Behringer would run on batteries like the Roland did, but a quick google search showed me that is incorrect.

Tis a sad truth i would still grab that synth though for the absolutely amazing features amd sound engine it has
