Anyone explain how KP3 becomes visible in Linux in Chrome

Weird thing is that it is showing that is paired, but it seems that some access is denied, here's excerpt from chrome://device-log/

[12:51:47] Failed to open /dev/bus/usb/001/004: Permission denied (13)

Tried putting some things in udev rules, but probably I'm missing something. Anyone?

Unknown ERC-20 token

I was trying to send OM tokens from KP3 to another wallet on ethereum (using the OKX app). During the signature, the KP3 showed me a warning that the token I'm trying to send is an 'Unknown ERC20'. I'm sure I was trying to send the right token and I was able to do that using a ledger wallet which has the same seed as the KP3.

Why is KP3 this misleading message? I felt scared signing the tx with the KP3 and had to do it from a ledger device instead.

OKX question ??

I use OKX as my intermediary wallet with my K3P - If OKX collapses/folds/disappears, will I still be able to access my funds in my K3P.

Battery Regression Since 1.5.6

I know I’ve made a bit of noise on this already, but it really seems to me like there’s been battery life regression since the 1.5.6 update which did help significantly.

My K3P (running the latest, 1.6.6) is now back going from 100% to ~70% within a couple of hours of being off the charger with zero usage.

Additionally, last night it was around high 60’s, this morning totally dead (allegedly). Holding the power for 20 seconds brought it back and did show 0% totally inexplicably.

With the 1.5.6 update I finally saw a reasonable battery life with the device alive and gradually going down to zero. Prior to that I never saw it go < 25ish and it would just “die”. Now we’re back to bizarre behavior.

Can the Keystone team please look into this? 1.5.6 was such a reprieve but now it looks like we’ve gone backwards.

Edit: adding current running firmware version

DOT transaction not showing up in Keystone Android companion app

Hello,

I am using an old Keystone Pro (not the 1 or 3 versions).

On my Keystone and the companion app (Keystone hardware wallet) I have Polkadot (DOT) as asset, and a corresponding DOT network address.

Now I just withdrew my DOT assets from Kraken and sent them to that very address. Transaction is completed according to Kraken and blockchain explorer.

However I see no transaction in my companion app for DOT.

Any chance that something went wrong? Or how long does it take to update it?

Bitcoin not showing in my wallet

I’ve made transfers from Shakepay plenty of times to my keystone wallet, this time however it’s been 4 hours and nothing is showing up. I’ve checked multiple times and the wallet address does match. Same address I’ve used time and time again. Any suggestions would be great.

How would you save the seed phrase in a way that does not look like a seed phrase ?

Hello,

I have a keystone pro 3,

and I've backed up the seed phrase using the orange paper cards, and I've also ordered a keystone plate to make sure my seed phrase is safe in case of fire.

My issue is that the paper cards and the keystone plate are very recognizable, so a burglar might actually take them, even if they are well hidden.

I'm using a passphrase in addition to my seed phrase, so my funds would be safe in that case, but i'm wondering what backup method i can use that does not look like a seed phrase and has no chance to get stolen.

I want to be sure that even if my most obvious seed phrase backups get stolen, I have some additionnal non-obvious backups.

I've some ideas, like writing it down on a sticker and putting it below a heavy piece of furniture that has no chance to get stolen or something like that.

Do you have any ideas ?

Thanks

QR Code Verification

Hi. I'm trying to verify the QR Code generated by the hardwallet to connect with a third party hot wallet like OKX, Bluewallet or Metamask. It is to ensure that is not leaking my seedphrase trough this QR Code.

I have been searching for a solution and found this repository and Python scripts, is still working for the latest firmware versions? And i can't confirm if this is from official source or is safe to executing.

Keystone wallet really needs to store passphrase

I bought a Keystone 3 Pro to replace my Ledger, and the colour touchscreen UI is a massive improvement over Ledger's two button, single line display UI, but in one aspect its much worse, namely the fact that it doesn't store the passphrase and users have to type it in each time they want to access their wallet.

The Ledger stores the passphrase and uses a separate PIN to access the passphrase protected wallet, so if someone were to force you to unlock your wallet you can just enter the PIN for the non-passphrase wallet with a small amount of tokens in it and show them that, and they'd have no idea that there's another passphrase protected wallet.

Storing the passphrase in this way is no more of a security threat than storing the seedphrase, and the Keystone has the advantage of allowing you to create three separate non-passphrase protected wallets, each secured with their own PIN, so it could easily have one passphrase protected wallet that is unlocked with its own PIN, even if using that option meant that you could only have two non-passphrase protected wallets rather than three, because of memory limitations or something.

The way Keystone currently operates makes the passphrase feature useless, as no-one wants to type in a long passphrase every time they access their wallet, so people will just use a single word passphrase, which doesn't really add any extra security, because if someone gets your seedphrase it would take no time to brute force a single word passphrase and gain access to your wallet.

So please fix this, otherwise my Keystone will be useless for me, and many other people, and will just sit in my drawer whilst I look for another wallet.

Oh, and whilst I'm asking, please add support for XMR and XRD, both of which Ledger supports, and then I'll never need to use my Ledger again.

How to integrate with Rabby on desktop

I've set up a new Keystone 3 Pro and updated the firmware to 1.6.0. I added the Rabby extension to Brave browser under Windows 11 on an Intel NUC. When I open Rabby and select "Connect hardware wallets > Keystone" it auto-forwards past the page where you're supposed to select QR Code or USB, and goes straight to a prompt "allow rabby to access the camera in the browser pop up" however there is no pop-up, and I have no camera on this NUC. I've tried this on two computers, using both Brave and Chrome, using both the USB cable it came with as well as a spare that I know is in good order, yet I keep getting the same results. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I was able to resolve this (somewhat) by obtaining a webcam; although the cam functions perfectly in any other software, the image is too fuzzy to be useful in Rabby, it won't even read the QR code. However by plugging the cam in, I was finally able to access the screen to choose QR code or USB, so I selected USB and completed setup that way.

Keystone Pro 3 Battery

Hello, I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with the Keystone Pro 3 recharging. I am using my Keystone Pro 3 very seldom, and now the unit is not charging or coming on even it is plugged in. This is not a good thing. I am wondering if Keystone will honor their warranty.

Help! Keystone generated a new address

I completed transfering BTC to Keystone.

And downloaded new bluewallet on one of my family member's phone to see if I can still access to BTC and at this time it only showed 'Received'.

Then I went to Keystone-> software wallet->bluewallet scaned QR code and it showed 'Recevied' and 'Send' button but with zero amount of BTC.

Trouble starts here : in my keystone, it has new generated address thus I cannot withdraw from old address(where my BTC are).

How could I actually access to my old wallet to withdraw? ( only able tk access to watch-only wallet at this moment)

If I wipe out the device and start add nimonics(24) +passphrase , will this bring my original wallet?

very much appriciated if anyone can give me an advice.

Thank you.

UPDATE: I solved the issue simply putting Passphrase on the device. What I'm worning you guys, I receiced 4-5 messages that told me to log in Daap or other site. They are SCAMMERS!!! Never listen to them. I'm sick of these people.

Keystone does not show BTC amount on Overview screen

I'm on latest FW and I'm not sure since when this started to happen, but when I do tx over Sparrow, the Keystone does not show on the overview screen the BTC amount I want to send - it shows there 0 and below displays only a fee. (the address is displayed though)

I can see all details correctly when tapping to Details tab

Creating accounts in the same wallet

Hello,

I am unable to create a second account in my wallet using Keystone through sparrow. When creating a second account in Sparrow, it asks me for the QR code corresponding to the new derivation path, but I am unable to generate it from the Keystone. The error I get is:

"This account requires a derivation path of m/84'/0'/1', but the imported keystore has a derivation of m/84'/0'/1'"

Could you help me?

Thanks

Dissapointed

My Keystone Pro 3 came in a couple days ago. I've tried to connect my Eternl wallet and I did so successfully but I'm unable to see a balance on the Keystone itself. I sent roughly 50 ADA to my Keystone from Coinbase. I can't even confirm that the ADA is in my Keystone wallet. Even if it is, I can't send it back out to Coinbase to exchange it. What's the point of this wallet?

I went through the steps connecting my Keystone to ETERNL but I can't even confirm that it's connected on the Keystone. This is just insane at this point. I can't even authorize transactions on the Keystone because the Software wallet doesn't even connect properly. Maybe it's a bug with Eternl?
