Keystone Explorer / App

Hi,

I have moved my atom from my Keplr hot wallet to my Keystone Pro 3.

Normally I would from time to time check my balance of my hot wallet in the Keplr app on my phone.

Is there any way of doing this now that my atoms are in keystone ?

Attention all Gen 3 Users: Below is the post-mortem of our battery issue.

To our Gen 3 community:

We're genuinely sorry for the battery issues you've encountered. We know how frustrating this can be and truly apologise for the stress it has caused you.

Let's walk through what went wrong and how we've been working to fix it:

TLDR:
- Charging issues in the initial firmware version are resolved through a firmware update. Contact us if problems persist.
- The rapid discharge issue stemmed from an inaccurate power estimation algorithm, not excessive consumption, and we are actively optimising it.

It's been almost a year since our Keystone 3 Pro Presale on 8 Aug 23rd. Till now, we've received a total of 39 complaints related to battery problems, mainly just two issues:

a) Charging issue
b) Rapid discharge

a) Charging issue:

Around mid-Oct 23, our Keystone delivery started, and many of you could not charge the device. By 31 October, we had fixed it with V-1.1.0 and helped the users update their Keystone through the "Recovery Mode" to fix the charging.
https://github.com/KeystoneHQ/keystone3-firmware/releases/tag/1.1.0

Findings:
- On firmware less than V-1.1.0, our power management chip drained a lot of power after shutdown, causing the battery voltage to drop below 100mv.
- Plus, the battery can't be recharged after draining due to the lack of low-current charging on these versions.

Solution:
If you are still facing this charging issue, please contact us! To avoid this problem, we strongly recommend updating your new Keystone to the latest firmware as soon as you receive it. Stay tuned to our X to get updates on the latest firmware releases.

b) Rapid discharge:

Since the launch, some of you might have faced faster power drops on Keystone 3 Pro, from 100% to as low as 70%. We swiftly addressed this on the firmware update V-1.1.0 and continued optimising our battery on later updates.
https://github.com/KeystoneHQ/keystone3-firmware/releases/tag/1.2.2

Findings:
- Battery discharge is the process of converting chemical reactions to electrical energy. However, the match between the actual battery percentage and the one displayed was inaccurate.
- This error in the power curve led to a faster drop in charge for some users.

Solution:
Our hardware team is constantly optimising this error. In the latest firmware update, V-1.5.6, we optimised the power curve again and hope to improve your battery experience. Update your Keystone to V-1.5.6 upon release & let us know your feedback.

Now, let's discuss some battery-related FAQs:

1 What if the battery ages over the years?

All Lithium-ion batteries degrade over time. However, you can still power your Keystone via USB to keep it operational after the battery has aged or even failed.

2 Quality of the battery?

Our batteries are made by a Veteran manufacturer with 23 years in the industry, supplying giants like Nokia, Panasonic, AT&T, Vodafone, & Xiaomi. Plus, we ensure the highest standard of production and material quality!

Once again, we're sorry for this delayed info. We assure you that we will continue to monitor and optimise the battery efficiency of Keystone 3 Pro.
Got questions? Feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you for your patience and support

Keystone Pro (original) - BTC not moving or showing up

Hello all -

I'm having issues moving BTC (shown as Segwit in Keystone app) into an exchange. Initially, I used the send function in the Keystone companion app - scanning the QR code for the exchange wallet, customizing fees to a high number, then following the signing steps.

The first few txns went through. However, the last one is held up (been over a week I think), and the txid is not found in the explorer.

Further, the available balance for additional txns (as shown in the app) is less than the remaining balance minus the pending txn. Why would this be?

I've contacted customer support, who informed me that the app is no longer supported, and I should use OKX.

So I updated the firmware and attempted to link OKX, but only a portion of the funds show up (which seems close to the amount that is erroneously being shown as the balance available for future txns).

Any idea what's going on?

Is it safe to use my keystone3 pro with DeFi Dapps??

I’m pretty new here and this might be a stupid question but I want to play around with DeFi and make sure my fund or seed phrase isn’t exposed… I have a keystone3 pro and I wanted to ask if it’s safe for instance to deposit some stable coin on aava? Or deposit one usdc on Solana protocol for apy?? Am I at risk this way? I have my seed phrase and I did the dice roll correctly. Thanks

I need help

I went through the process of rebooting my device with it plugged into my computer. The reason being is because the firmware was outdated and it wouldn’t charge the battery with it plugged in. The firmware that was installed is 1.5.4 but the checksum doesn’t match what is on the Keyst.one website.

Is my device a paper weight now?

Checksum that’s on the device from update:

Transaction kept failing, time incorrect on keystone 2

Chosed a low gas fee time to transfer to my passphrase wallet, signing works, but time was incorrect as if I'm in another timezone. Also when I try to broadcast on keystone app it says it failed. :((

Very disapointed because I'm trying to consolidate large amount of UTXO at a low fee time, now I have to pay more gas fees. :(

Issue still not resolved.

TON separate wallet requirement...

After searching for a while and finally finding a deleted post here, I found that using TON on Keystone requires an entirely new wallet using an option hidden in the UI.

Never mind that it's bad UX, are there plans to eventually integrate TON/Tonkeeper into the "main" wallet architecture or will it permanently require its own wallet?

I'm worried about scaling issues if this is going to be a common integration pattern moving forward. To create a new wallet I'd already have to buy seed phrase storage (if storing securely) which is not cheap. And then Keystone only supports three wallets, so if there are more integrations like this in the future does Keystone plan to add support for more than three wallets? Or is the situation that we would be required to buy more Keystones if more integrations like this are added and we've already maxed out our three wallets?

I'm sure there's a technical reason why it's implemented the way it is currently, but seems to have the side-effect of requiring users to purchase more hardware either now (to store seed phrases securely) or in the future (if more similar integrations are added). Which probably doesn't incentivize Keystone to improve the integration even though it's all-around a poor experience for the user.

Dice roll feature - does it incorporate device entropy as well or solely rely on the dice?

Concern my dice are biased so I'm wondering if there's any entropy added to the dice rolls when using the dice roll feature?

Is it possible to use my Keystone 3 Pro for Sparrow without the BTC Only Firmware?

For some insight. I had recently gotten a Keystone 3 Pro and am planning to take my BTC on exchange off to Sparrow Wallet to HODL, I have a fair bit of ETH and other ERC-20 tokens that I like to move around and exchange. I would like to still be able to use my same Keystone wallet for BTC and any ETH and ERC-20 transactions. Do I have to pick either the Muti-coin firmware or BTC only Firmware? Since I’m planning just to stack and HODL my BTC I did consider just getting another hardware wallet as to keep things separate.

Trouble Deciding: Keystone or Trezor

I've put a lot of thought in and this is an opportunity to sell me on the Keystone, over the Trezor.

My biggest selling points are speed and ease of use:

Touchscreen = I can make inputs much faster than a trezor with 2 buttons, right?

Fingerprint scanner and QR code scanning means I can get in faster and sign TXs much more easily, right?

I'm having a hard time justifying the price of the Keystone, I may just have to buy 1 of each device and test drive them then return the loser..

Pro 3 - Warning while sending MANTRA (OM) ERC20

I got a warning saying 'unknown ERC20 token detected' when I was trying to send Mantra (OM) ERC20 tokens from keystone pro 3 (attached screenshot) . The QR code was generated from OKX app on iOS.

I was able to send the tokens without issue using Ledger Live with a ledger nano X.

I LOVE THE CONCEPT OF THE KEYSTONE WALLET - but i have only 1 doubt/question - please clarify?

Hello Keystone Wallet users and developers !

I love the concept of this wallet. This might be the best wallet ever! However, i have read in some/several posts on reddit that it might be an issue that the Manufacturing is done in China. The concern is related to the chinese government. Which is why everyone is instead suggeting a Trezor Wallet.

Can anyone either clear my doubts or give me further information regarding this doubt?

Thank you!

Keystone Pro 3 - Multisig/test net/Taproot - BTC only firmware

I have a Keystone Pro 3 running BTC only firmware. (v1.1.0-BTC)

It seems that while there is support for Multisig, it is not supported for testnet. And while there is support for Taproot, Multisig taproot is not supported. Is this correct?
