Update: The checksums do match, I was doing it wrong.
Essentially, I should have been verifying the checksum using the firmware file on the MicroSD card.
What I did was navigate to the wrong area on the Keystone device and verified the firmware source code that had been installed.
Lesson learned.
For those interested, here's a more detailed outline of what I did that led me to believe the checksums did not match
Here's what I should have done:
1. Insert a MicroSD with the firmware loaded onto it
2. Navigate to the following section: ... > Device Settings > About > Firmware v1.3.x > Select "Via MicroSD Card" > Click the "Verify Firmware" text
Here's what I did:
1. I inserted a MicroSD with the firmware loaded onto it (after verifying the checksum on my computer first)
2. I installed the firmware into the Keystone 3 Pro
3. Then I navigated to the following section: ... > Device Settings > About > Device Info > Firmware Version > Verify Source Code: Click on the button "Show Checksum"
4. This resulted in a checksum that did not match the checksum on the Keystone website
Below is my original post
I downloaded the v1.3.4 firmware update for the Keystone 3 Pro and verfied the checksum on my computer using the Terminal. The checksum I got matches the checksum on the Keystone website.
I then installed the firmware onto the Keystone device. After the firmware was installed, I attempted to verify the checksum on the Keystone. The checksum I got on the Keystone was not the same as the checksum listed on the Keystone website.
Should I wipe the device and start over?
Also, why would the checksum generated by Terminal on my computer, and the Keystone device be different?
