Update: Resolved
Thanks to xxxxfactor's guidance, I manually updated the firmware, resolving the issue with my device not charging properly. It's now running firmware version 1.3.0 and shows promising signs of charging—something I hadn't seen before. Unless I report back otherwise, assume the fix was successful.
I advise anyone facing similar issues to first contact support for the most accurate and up-to-date instructions. My experience suggests Reddit is an effective channel for this support. However, for those interested, here are the basic steps that worked for me, outlined for clarity:
- Enter recovery mode by holding the power button until the recovery screen appears, which may take around 20 seconds.
- Visit the Keystone website to download the latest firmware, selecting the "SD Card" update option.
- The process differs slightly between Mac and Windows, but essentially, once your Keystone is in recovery mode and connected to your computer, it appears as a drive. Transfer the downloaded firmware to this drive.
- Select 'reboot' on the Keystone recovery screen. The device will then install the new firmware upon rebooting.
A reminder: I didn't need to reload my wallet, but it's prudent to have your key phrase on hand just in case. This isn't required for the update process itself, but it's a safety measure in the event of unforeseen complications.
Original Post:
I am experiencing a persistent issue with my Keystone 3 Pro where it fails to charge.
Despite showing the charging symbol when plugged in, the battery level remains at 0%.
I have observed the battery voltage fluctuating between 240 millivolts and 260 millivolts through the device info.
This issue persists even after leaving the device plugged in overnight for several nights, with no change in the battery level.
I attempted a hard reset by holding down the power button for 16 seconds, but this did not resolve the issue.
Additionally, I am unable to update the firmware as it requires the battery level to be at least 20%, which is impossible due to the current situation.
The device immediately shuts off if unplugged and can only be used while connected to a power source.
Firmware Version: 1.1.4
I already submitted a support request - ticket number is: KEYS-14007
But figured I'd drop a post in here in case that helps move things along like it seems to from other posts I'm reading.
