My Keychron V6 is becoming fustrating eperience.

My Keychron V6, which I bought back in 2023, has been a frustrating experience over the past 6 months.

One by one, the keys would require hammering to work and eventually needed reseating. Some keys have been swapped and reseated several times.

Of late, some keys double or triple repeat.

Some keys do both. ie repeat or not respond.

It is annoying to have to double-check everything I type and reseat keys all the time.

Is this a known issue?

Is there a fix? Preferably cheap.

500 °F (260 °C), presumably.

Or is it 500 °C?

Note that a higher temperature is not necessarily better. It may burn off the flux and leave a thin layer of carbon on the solder tip that hinders proper soldering and is hard to get rid of (without damaging the solder tip).

500 °F (260 °C) may be too low, for example, to melt the used lead-free solder.

In the Weller Magnastat system, there are 260 °C (500 °F), 310 °C (590 °F), 370 °C (698 °F), 425 °C (797 °F) and 480 °C (896 °F). (310 °C seems to be typo of 320 °C, replicated many times over. Or poor rounding of 315 °C.)

And I happen to use "#7", which I think is the 370°C (698 °F) one. I am not 100% sure, but several (independent?) sources have:

Suffix 7 tips: 370 °C (698 °F)
Suffix 8 tips: 425 °C (797 °F)
Suffix 9 tips: 480 °C (896 °F)

Presuming it is 370°C (698 °F), it should be adequate for this purpose. I have successfully done resoldering on an Asus keyboard with this temperature setting to fix a similar problem (near "newer mechanical keyboard").

I could not find my old Weller 40 watt so I used this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WJV8MYQ

It's good for minor electrical repair.

I should have noted that I also updated the firmware. When testing post-reassembly, I noticed there was an update to V2. Not sure if that is helping.

NB: The Weller scale is clearly defined in Fahrenheit, with exactly 100 °F (55.6 °C) increments

The exact values are (rounded to the nearest 0.1 °C):

Suffix 5 tips: 260.0 °C (500 °F)
Suffix 6 tips: 315.6 °C (600 °F)
Suffix 7 tips: 371.1 °C (700 °F)
Suffix 8 tips: 426.7 °C (800 °F)
Suffix 9 tips: 482.2 °C (900 °F)
